Konsta Helenius is first Finnish player who played at same season in U-18, U-20 and adults WC tournaments.

Helenius is not the biggest player in this draft, but he was a menace on the forecheck and relishes the opportunity to check an opponent. Why hasn't Adams drafted these kind of players before which the Sabres defiantly lack

5'11 and 190LBS already, once he makes the NHL he will be playing at around 200LBS-205LBS, so he will have a solid frame for his height.

@heh I’m so sorry you’re seeing the negativity. As a Sabres fan I’m extremely embarrassed by it. A lot of our fans can’t comprehend what a real rebuild looks like.

With Jeff Skinner being bought out, could this mean Konsta could become this year's Zach Benson and make the team right away? Put him on a line with Benson and Savoie (Kulich?) and the Sabres would have a new 'Kid Line'!

What are you basing this on? His staff plan for months on end for the draft.

Maybe I was wrong in saying it. I’d say he probably pivoted to plan B. Trading 11 to 14 to acquire a second gave the impression he was going to package them up to get a nhl now player but no one bit. We got a good player though and hopefully he works out.

I mean no one wanted to trade their top players for the eleventh pick, cant do a whole lot when theres no takers. I have zero issue with the kid they selected I think he’ll be a great player.

Look at how competitive the NHL is becoming. If we want to win a cup we need to methodically play the long game. That’s the key lesson we needed to learn the last 13 years. Also lots of time for trades and signings to be made
