Konstanze Klosterhalfen Sets German National Record, Keira D'Amato Hits OTQ in Texas Qualifier 10K

5,000m world championship bronze medalist Konstanze Klosterhalfen made her 10,000m debut on the track in grand fashion with a German national record in 31:01.71. The previous record of 31:03.62 was held by Kathrin Ulrich and set in 1991.
Keira D'Amto made her debut for Nike with a runner-up finish in 32:16.82 to snag a U.S. Olympic Trials qualifying mark.

Konstanze has an incredible stride her long legs and effortless stride carry her the whole way. I wish she would get stronger so she could put a real dent in her competitors like Helen Obiri and Letesenbet Gidey. More weight training? More distance strengthening? She has great last lap speed but of course she could use a bit more speed to run in the low 30's for 10km

Koko 2021 Tokyo? Hope so. I really like her as a competitor but I just think she needs to get a little bit stronger - especially at the end of tight races.
