Hallo, Tori! This was so helpful! Annie has finally persuaded me to begin this joyous hobby and I am so excited for this new journey. I am a painter and mixed media artist and have never done any stitching in my life - apart from the occasional button. I also watch Christine's channel and you're all so lovely to show us these techniques and tips. I can't wait to start! My Gran used to do all sorts and I've still got one of her beautiful Aran wool sweaters (I think that's the name of the wool). Thank you, darling! Much love and bless xoxo
Hello Lindsey! I am also a mixed media artist and painter :). This way of stitching suits me because I can work in the same way as I do with collage with the fabrics and painting with the thread ☺️. I’m so pleased Annie has introduced you to this lovely and mindful craft :). Christine is awesome isn’t she? :). I’m so glad you are enjoying it all - much love ❤️
I just watched a vid the other day of you making ATCs! Forgot to tell you how fun that one was. I'm pleased to know you and I have that in common. I think that is why I am so drawn to your channel and your beautiful creations. I adore loads of bright colours and love your use of them in your work. I am a transplanted Scot (Inverness) living in the US and watching you, Annie and the other lovely artists makes me happy to hear the familiar accents of home. I miss it terribly. I love your channel and what you've created. So wonderful and valuable to us all. I know you all work so hard to bring us amazing content and I appreciate it so much - I can't even tell you what it has meant to me. I adore you, my dear! xoxo@@KoolKookyKreatures
So enjoy watching and listening to you ……love your sense of humour too……you make the atmosphere of slow stitch into what it should be……JOYFUL!👏👏👏…….keep doing them please…..have a brill day x
Hi Lynn: Just an FYI: Tori started me slow stitching; then I found you, Daniela Mellon, and Night Owl Creations. Love all your projects and have made a few. Thank you all for sharing your tutorials. 💜😎🇺🇸
your video is just what I was looking for. Did a lot of needlework when I was younger, and now in my 70's I want topics it up again. your tutorial is a great refresher. very glad you talked about how to apply them in your piece.
Hi Tori, I have started slow stitching again, I want to make a Japanese rice bag, so I have been hunting down a few new stitches, so there will be some stars Tomorrow now hehe 😊 I have been experimenting with bullion and some others too, not sure of the names, I struggle to start and end blanket stitch and always have to look it up, every time🤦♀️ it's always good to watch your demos, clear and easy to follow, and you always make me smile 🌈🌞🤗🌟🥰
You’re not the only one who struggles with blanket stitch beginning and ending Kim - I always have to think about it before I start! Hehe xx. I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the video. I love the Japanese rice bags and they are perfect to decorate. Happy stitching 🥰❤️
@KoolKookyKreatures , Always 🤍Thanks Tori, I have been to a new craft group with my Daughter, so I needed to take something along and grabbed some stitch stuff and now I'm in the zone, more builders all week too, 🤪but on the back now, nearly there.🤞I suppose it's like most things, practise makes perfect, or almost 🤔😅 🌈🤗 🌱🧵🪡🥰
@kimtownsend838 hurrah for the stitching - it helps to keep us sane (ish). Good to know that even though the builders will be with you for a little longer, the end is in sight xxx
Sane, mmm 🤭🤔 not sure that describes us 😅 but we try or not 😂 Yes, this will hopefully find the root of the cause of damp once and for all 🤞 I think you have to be in a certain mind set for slow stitching, no good having a schedule and time you want said project to be done by, It takes me a while to decide the direction it's going in and possibly what it wants to be. 😊 finding your channel has brought so many ideas to my brain. I don't know what was in there before 😂 🤗🌈🪡🧵
@kimtownsend838 haha I’m definitely not all there in the sane department but I think that’s always been the case 🤣🤣. Hopefully the builders have solved the damp problem 🥰🥰
I mainly use exactly the same stitches as you, plus blanket stitches for my edges and some chain stitches. Sometimes I weave through things and make them look more complicated, but they really aren’t. No need for anything different. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks Maggie! It’s really just creative use of the simple stitches isn’t it :). I love your pieces. I will be doing another video because I also use chain stitch, blanket stitch and lazy daisy along with satin stitch and long and short stitch.
Lovely intro into stitching will be recommending this as a watch next week when my slow stitch group start up. Aww it’s getting close know! Yep exciting. Thanks for another wibbaley wobbaley video.
@@KoolKookyKreatures it adds atmosphere! Yep makes one think you are relaxing, maybe doing a bit of rowing in between, lol so need to draw or paint this! Double lol.
Thank you so much I wanted to start slow stitching since couple of weeks but not sure from where. Once you vid popped out I decided to start with you, brought a piece of felt and my threads and applied every stitch and still enjoying stitching around the piece of felt I have with a cup of coffee. You made my day !!
I am so happy that you stitched along with me. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get going - you are exactly the kind of person I want to reach with my video - thank you for watching and lovely to hear about your happiness 🥰❤️
