I'm 50 from the DMV.....now I live in Arizona..... finally get to experience living in the West; visiting Tuscon Arizona, Los Angeles California, ... Las Vegas Nevada ......aaaaaaassaa it was only a dream 🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
Oh man...that was My time. The 80's. That was the real Rap and Hip Hop time! I'm 58 now and used to hang around with the GI's here back than. I miss those days, jammin' in their clubs and this damned good music! Found my greatest love of all but than the Army sent him to Korea and I lost him 😢 But I will never forget him and 'his' music will always be around God bless all of you!
Roller skatin' to this 🤩 And dancin' on roller skates to this. The kids these days don't understand how fun it was to dance on roller skates lol. We all could do it! Most of them can barely disconnect long enough to be free like that. Those were the best times!
"We vowed that nobody would come on our block and terrorize us, the gangs that use to do it, now they idolize us" Hardest line. We need this now truth be told.
@@lilstinker1949 nothing wrong with explaining that an artist from another genre impresses you. i'm a 90s hip hop head who admires a few rock/metal acts.
My mom didn’t care for rappers but she said he sounds so intelligent We played ths song at her repast nd did the dance to it. She loved her sum Kool Mo Dee❤💃🕺🏾
This song was a big part of my childhood. You would hear this blasting in the hood from a car or a boombox on a regular basis in the summer. What a time.. 🙂
Back in the day when a one on one fight was heard of. Afterwards of course the winner if not from the same creq had to leave not stay and gloat. That is the reason for this lyric.
Reminds me of taking the bus with my Grandma back in the 80s. Someone would always be in the back with a huge radio playing 80s rap. Great times. Miss those days.
😂😂😂😂you took me back to 79', 80', 81'! There was no bus system, just a slow walk around the projects or chillin at the rec center blasting your boom box. I wonder what would happen if you tried that now...🤔🤔😂😂
Here in 2019 I'm 51 white and love this song! I believe we now live in the wild west! All the guns a blazing, not fist fighting! What has this world come too??
He said that but there were way more people being shot and stabbed than there is now. Difference is there were rules to it. You would usually settle beef with your hands first. That all went away by the early 90's. A lot of dudes afraid to take what was coming.
No guns no material shit no degrading women and no bs nothing but pure rapping skills this is why these rappers from back in the day are legends and have the respect of the people because this is what rap was and we had fun like a mf back in these days at parties and school dances...Dam I miss this era watching these old videos give me goosebumps and I be in this mf jamming theses songs...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@ChaingunCassidy Right?? Lmao. The premise is "we used to feel up girls in the dark. Then dudes with guns came around. Now we have guns too." C'mon man. Stop idolizing the past unnecessarily.
@@ChaingunCassidy buy comparison to today, I can understand my man's point. Today it's right in your face loud and hard.. bitches, niggas, hand gun gestures... In this song it's about using your fists over a gun. My Uncle plays this all the damn time and I can't lie, I do vibe to this more.. It's more chill.
Sure if you're referring to the Cosby kids. Dunno about you but the vocabulary is tied to the local, state, and federal governance. Their piss poor management and waste of money on poorly developed initiatives meant many were fucked from day one (pardon my vocabulary). Rap is rap it doesn't matter if they're cussing or not. That doesn't diminish it's contribution (mumble rap though...). Much like every other genre is the exact same. Same disgruntled youth saying the same thing their parents generation of disgruntled youth were saying. But you're more concerned with the cussing not the messages. I see...
My Son Kevin Loved this Song and I Loved to see him dance to it he had Cancer and Past 2 Years ago I'm 79 years old And I Love To Listen to it. I CAN REMEMBER HIS STEPS JUST LIKE YESTERDAY 👍 👌
@@redhats3148My condolences truly for your lost.🙏 This song brings many memories as well. Kool Moe Dee has to be one of the most underrated rapper ever! His rhymes along with a few others from that era, are ahead of there time!👑✊🏾
All these older masterpieces aged so well against new stuff. My 10 and 14 yr (both girls)old both prefer old music to new stuff. My 10yr old LOVES Bone Thugs n Harmony, Boyz II Men and Beastie Boys tracks.
Yeah I hear you sister often the old school myself born in the 80s grew up in the 90s this song came out around that time at least it is better than that Mumble rap now they got nowadays that is some straight-up b******* I don't understand what the fuck they're saying sometimes
I love me some Kool Moe Dee and that's why he deserves to get his flowers while he's hear because you never know when God timing will call you. We already done lost a lot of are old school rappers from the late 80s-through the early 90s..
I had a good friend who was in his 80's. Everytime he would come to my house (everyday) in his Red and white caddy,he would be blasting this song. He really loved this song. And he still had the moves as old as he was.😃❤️. I really miss him.
Kool Moe Dee is also one of my favorite all time rappers. I love his video and his song wild wild west!!! Like I said rap was rap and it was good clean rap music. Today's rap music don't have nothing on old school rappers and their music!!!
These folks, today, couldn't have competed with the rappers who are the reason they have the opportunities they have, to make it, in the music industry all these years later. Those old school rappers, both men & women, fought to get doors kicked in so they could be heard and made it so much easier for all who came after them to get an honest shot at making it and getting paid!
Classic song and the video was so innovative...the Wild Wild West theme in the snow/at night, I loved it! Excellent song and cinematography. Props to Kool Moe Dee and also the late director Scott Kalvert.
