"Quality of sound has no time stamp" I could not have said it better. I was a child listening to great music. This tune would be my end of the day song in my headsets. Simply beautiful.
We were blown away growing up and listening to all the great groups and singers back in the late '60s, 70's, '80s, 90's. We were so blessed and partied all the time and just had fun.
Will Smith sampled this and made a hit called "Summertime." Most of these rappers wouldn't' have a career if they didn't sample from 70s and 80s artists.
One of the best instrumental songs of all time! Kool and the Gang were trend setters in a time were new music was coming out weekly. They started out playing jazz and then transitioned over to a more funky sound. This song is a must play at their concerts. This made me pick up the bass guitar. Kool’s instrument of choice.
I LOVE this beautiful smooth jazz tune. It's definitely my #1 by Kool & the Gang. It was used in the first "Rocky" movie, when Rocky was making his move with Adrian 😉❤💖❤
Just jamming.... keep this jam on repeat wow! the rhythmic guitar play along with those heavenly Cloud9 synthesizer keys, are just out of this world! what a great jazz fusion classic that never gets old or tired of hearing from 1974 this is 2021 and is still sounds just as fresh today!
Wow this song bought back some memories. I haven’t hear it since the 70’s. I forgotten this song by Kool and the gang. It was very popular and play often on the radio. Amazing instrumental song! Thank you for sharing!👏🏼👍🏼
soul/classic masterpiece. "no time stamp" is right. Great music is timeless. My favorite Kool and the Gang record. (Originally Kool and the Jazz Gang). Robert "Koo" Bell on bass and his brother Robert Bell on keyboards.
I was 17 years old and just married riding down south shore drive in THE CHI, from our wedding around 7pm hanging out with our friends to the reception!!! Kool and the Gang has always and will be a part of our lives forever!
If you enjoyed this version of SUMMER MADNESS you should hear the live version from the Rainbow Theater in London from 1976 it’s one of the greatest performances of that song they ever performed. KOOL AND THE GANG was and still is one of the greatest BANDS IN MUSIC HISTORY, I’ve been watching them perform since 1967 and have NEVER BEEN DISSATISFIED OR DISAPPOINTED, also KOOL AND THE GANG Members were some of the NICEST DOWN TO EARTH BROTHERS I’VE EVER HAD THE CHANCE OF MEETING WHEN I WAS YOUNG.
Keep in mind that most of the band members played together in jazz groups, prior to becoming known as Kool & The Gang. So it's no surprise that they were able to create this phenominal song ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm begging you to react to Kool and the Gang's "Whisper Softly", "Jungle Boogie", and "Spirit of the Boogie" because you mentioned on few occasions that the "talent drop off" is significant when think that in the 70s there were musicians who played instruments. Many of today's artist just have synthetic drum beat and few have any instrumentality of even a good hook....Again, I'm begging check out those songs mentioned above...
This was played in the first "Rocky" movies love scene. Kool and the Gang were also great musician. You mean greatness like Truth has no time stamp. Just sayin😉
This was before Kool&the Gang sold out and started playing that disco shit..never mind that corney Cherish and Too Hot songs like that by them.....stick to THIS ALBUM..."Light of Worlds"..."You dont have to Change"."Rhyme Time People''...'Whiting H&G"..MY ALL TIME FAV ALBUM
DJ JAZZY JEFF AND WILL SMITH made their version called summer madness too. classic intrumental from KOOL .... wdas fm in philly quiet storm tony brown would play this after his transition into a new day... ronald bell , on the syn, keyboards, moog. he was kool`s brother
