It was in the US R & B charts but in the UK it was more underground. Hardly any R&B music on radio waves back then unless you could get illegal pirate stations.

I saw these guys at the Berklee College of Music Performance Center in Boston. The acoustics in there are near perfect. There were keyboards stacked 3 high in a square, a mic and amps on the stage. Mick and David walk out only. David hits a button and it sounds like a 10-piece band rocking different arrangements of their many hits. He programmed everything, even vocals. Mick sang lead and played guitar. It was an amazing show! They were so far ahead of the times! David Frank is a genius...

Most of Us watched the Music Video in heavy Rotation on MTV & VH1 at the Time ... Loved The Music Video ... In May 1987, the song reached number 1 on the US Billboard R&B Singles chart, spending one week on top. It was later a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer of 1987 as well, peaking at number 4 in July.

I've been looking for a reaction video to this song as well. I remember this tune blowing my 7 year old mind back in the summer of 1987 when it was in heavy rotation on the radio: The catchy-as-hell keyboard melody and synth bassline, vocalist Mic Murphy's strong but smooth vocals, and that chorus hooked me to this song the first time I heard it.

You were right, this was sampled by Tupac for his song "Lost Souls" (1997) on the soundtrack of Gang Related, also starring James Belushi. It was also sampled in the song "Sexy Lady" by UBC (2004), and also on the song "Pay Attention" by CRU, feat. Anthony Hamilton. BTW, Anthony Hamilton is another person you should most definitely consider reacting to. He's got a really unique and soulful voice. React to his song, "Comin' From Where I'm From".

After all the classic cuts you've done glad to see you are kind of getting & understanding why 70's 80's & 90's was such great years of music history & was so widely sampled in the 90's hip hop era. The 100s you've done. You barely tip the barrel of what was sampled in hip hop era & still. You were wrong the song wasn't a sleeper hit this song if my memory is right ? I believe this hit the top 10 in the billboard charts. Here are some artists you haven't touched yet that also was sampled a lot & many of there lp.s. These artists will make you think even harder who sampled them & how many of all there songs were used. Gap Band, Roger Troutman/Zapp, The Bar-Kays, Con-Funk- Shun. The artists that were majorly sampled the most were. James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, George Clinton/Parliament & Zapp. Even then you still haven't tipped barrel of what & who was sampled. With these artists they had many lp.s & they all were picked apart by hip hop producers, artists & all the samples you get when you get a keyboard, drum machines + dj gear. Also the soft ware for the beats you mess with to create today beats. But what funny/sad a good chunk of today youth have been bashing all of these artists of theses eras/genres for many yrs. But the funny thing is where & what guitar, drum, keyboard & other instruments. The music note today producer create today with??? Every note from every instrument has been used & created. So all today young artist/producers are doing some type of sampling and might not know they are. The good thing is us older people that are try to listen to today music will also have to think harder also where that beat came from & eras. But we'll be even picker to we will listen too & might follow. Glad to see Just Jammin' has been learning & start to respect the music from the passed. We all see your facial expressions, your think cap working overtime & the ear orgasm you've been getting. Us older viewer check that you out cause of you choices of artists you select. We also check out the reaction/we also have to remember who sampled also cause we forget too. Plus we all go down memory lane. If you're willing to keep on checking out these 3 eras you will see & will enjoy the music + videos. You will know more than others of your youth + teach them what is lost,forgot-in + the creativity that missing in today music by your reaction posts & the commit below your music picks Keep up the good job.
