I was put up for adoption by my mother in the1960s. Later we were reunited. She was a wonderful person. It turns out that she was having a lot of problems at the time I was born. She wanted me to have a better life. I loved her very much. She passed away four years ago. I'm so glad I got to know her. I miss her.

@@vibrantlotus8154 A child borns in this world through the womb of one's biological mother. An adopted child however borns in this world through the loving heart of one's adopted mother & /or father. By the love of God n His Grace, as parents (real, adoptive, foster, or surrogate) they will do anything even die for their children for parents's love is limitless. There will come a right time for the child when grows up wanting to find his/her biological parents. That is human nature. To complete a vacuum in the child's heart n mind. Not because of any lack of love, attention, n life the adoptive parent(s) has provided the child throughout his/her life. It's just time. Both of my children are adopted - my daughter is an open adoption (because family is important), and the other is the youngest son of my youngest brother. Both have been a huge blessing to me and about ready to leave the nest. I will miss the season of raising them, but I know they will be healthy and wholesome adults who will value family.

It shows that he was loved and cared for by his adoptive family, which is beautiful. I was able to feel the birth mothers heartbreak with the dynamics of his new parents and new siblings. His new parents even instilled the importance of his birth mother with the understanding by example of the need of good people to help you to also be good. I enjoyed him showing and explaining each part that lead him to Korea even the agency that processes adoptions. It's not, that was only the expectation in your head that you wanted to see them together. The video itself delivered, he told the story of them reuniting.

Accidently reunites, check. Went out by chance, recognised the name of the adoption place, goes in to just get a bit of info and was informed that his mother never gave up on him, leading him to pursue her. Doing something amazing, check. Moved his life to South Korea to be closer to his birth mother and grandma that he knows nothing about to extend his family. You just had presumptions and led into the video with expectations of gratifying your ideal scenario.

forkless Exactly. Perhaps his birth mother still feels guilty for putting him for adoption and was not ready to get social media attention at the time this video was made. I hope there will be a part 2 though.

These are true parents. One giving the child up so he could have a life and the adoptive...which I chose to call the parents too...which have clearly raised this young man with love and the purest intentions of a parent.

I love that the company making this -- "A Plus" -- is dedicated to the idea of sharing good stories, "positive journalism". All we usually get is stories of horror and disaster: shootings, terrorism, horrible destructive accidents, etc. I've always longed for a place where we could share stories that are uplifting, that enrich the spirit, cheer the heart, etc. -- using the web to draw us closer and make us honor and cherish each other's humanity. Thank you, A Plus.

You don't often hear about the mothers who made the decision to give up their child and their reasoning. How difficult it must be to have to make that choice and the regret they must feel through the years. What a great supportive adoptive family this man has. He's fortunate.

IN MY VIEW Doug Walsh was raised with wise adopted parents that created an environment to cultivate and nurture his astounding wise self-worth. They are secure in loving their child and welcome others loving him and his siblings. They instilled the true meaning of "FAMILY."

What an awesome story and an awesome young man. Very wise for one so young. He was raised by some insightful and loving parents. I am glad he was able to extend his family. I hope he has realized by now that any "menial" job is a respectable job as long as you do it the best you can and with a joyful heart. I was hospitalized and was far from home but there was a lady in housekeeping who would come in everyday to clean, she was a joyful person and would greet me with a hello and a smile that would lift my spirits. I doubt that lady knew how much she affected me but I still remember her and think of her often. I hope she has been blessed in return for her raising the spirits of others.
