Sorry this got a little long, but I'd love to introduce you to the narrator and actor in the video who is DPR Ian who also directed, edited and colored the music video. On IU's youtube channel is a behind the scenes to this and there she said that she wanted to work with him for so long and finally it worked out. (that video btw is wholesome). DPR Ian is an independent artist and his music is very deep as he bases it off of himself and his music videos are all very cinematic. He does everything on his own, writing lyrics, producing the music, directing and editing his own music videos (also for other artists as you see) and also does the sound design for example if there's a story being told like in this one. I'm quite sure you wouldn't regret checking him out, but you'd definitely be missing out. I'd highly recommend his MIITO Movie, it has 4 songs in it like a medley but instead of a music video he made a movie out of it. All his music is good tbh, the one that's been viral for a while now is "Don't Go Insane" (really good too). If you decide to check him out, I'd love to see your first time reaction to him ☺️ Have fun!
You'll definitely love his art; he directed this video so should expect something similar on his MV's, just darker (that's why at the end, in the credits, when he grabs the letter from IU, it turns kinda dark, is like a reference to his own storyline lol). He's amazing.
The Shop is a metaphor for our dreams and aspirations. Money is not everything. Time is short. It's okay to be greedy to want to pursue what we want in life. Take that leap of faith. In the music video she is collecting these magical items in order to achieve her dream of attending the sunset party. She later places these magical items in the shop for others to take. The final frame is her giving us one of the magical items. Basically telling us to take it and go chase our dream.
