I struggle with the rhythm of the backlash. I press the buttons too quickly and just can’t find the right temp for it. Do you have any advice on the speed to go at?
i'd reccommend going slow in just to get the rhytm and tempo for it down. Just try to do 1 korean backdash at first once you have mastered that then do 2, 3,4 etc. Once you can do multiple then you speed it up and get into the flow of things. Similar to how I start slow in the video. Also remember that different characters have difference backdashes so the speed and tempo will not be exactly the same on each one.
Bit of a long response but I hope it helps: It goes backdash (or just back) and hold back -> downback (since you are holding back already you can just tap down once like in video) -> back -> release back. It is surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it, it is just hard to explain over text/online often leading to much confusion. Try watching the video again with this context in mind hopefully that will help. Backdash cancel in video works with backsway characters. Practice this for a while, start slow and make sure its accurate then do it faster and faster. Especially on backsway being accurate is important so it is better to be slow than inaccurate in the beginning. Don't worry if it takes a while to learn (days, weeks) it is absolutely worth it. Be careful not to backdash to wall once you get the hang of it, it can be very good to backdash just once or twice when you are close to your opponent not meters away. Make them miss small and slow moves and then punish them. Now you have universal backdash cancel for normal and backsway characters.
@@nospaace Oh that means for sway characters it is the same input on the DS4 like for non-sway characters? After I saw this video and reading the question of Juan Carlos Leal and your answer I got it down within half an hour with Feng. I tried the same with Paul but somehow he always did sway back :> Anyway thanks a lot for your fast answer!!!
@@masterbison9737 Happy to help and same for backsway but just takes a bit more accuracy just go slower in the beginning until you have the motion down and then speed up :) Good way to practise backsway kbd is just first hold back, then hold down while holding back, let go of down then let go of back. Doing it very slowly enough breaks down the entire KBD and when doing it so slow it almost just looks like you are ducking. Great for giving you a feel for the animations and animation cancelling and very accurate. This should avoid giving you accidental backsways then simply speed up the inputs to get good KBD.
The key is to keeping holding back when you press down. Almost like a slide motion Should be: Back: ⇐ Hold Back into down for downback: ⇐⇓ (becomes ⇙) Let go of down: ⇐ Let go of back: * repeat full motion: ⇐⇙⇐* does this make sense? * = neutral/not pressing anything
Don't worry the tip of your left thumb will become numb after some time. It should already have occurred by the time you read this if you kept on playing.
Ah this controller was actually broken when I made the video which is why its so clicky, I just made it to quickly illustrate korean backdash to a friend so I grabbed the first controller I could find. I also think it is an older PS4 controller as the newer ones make less noise.
