My 1 year old daughter was on my lap while I'm playing, I thought she liked watching me play , turns out she is more intrested in my controller, the mute button was on and the light was drawing her in. She pressed it and held it down and all while I'm playing not noticing. All of a sudden everything gets muted and I'm tripping out like what's going on. I looked down and see her finger. That's how I found out about the all mute feature 🤦♂️
I received a PS5 for Christmas, and I wish I'd seen this video sooner. Alot of these features I'd learned from just using the system, but there was a few useful things I learned. Biggest one was holding the PS button for a few seconds to go straight to the dashboard. I'm coming from the Switch, so it's a little jarring that it doesn't do that automatically. I've never once used that pop up menu. And yes, I'd love a sequel to this!
Controller is complete cheeks with battery life. Takes me 5 minutes or less to recharge it everytime (meaning I can only use it for 5 minutes before recharge)
Very helpful video! crazy that you can control your PS5 storage from your phone!!!! thanks for the helpful tip, i will share along to friends and fam. and to answer your question, please make more videos like this from time to time, it is a fantastic reminder/refresher
@@mnlord2plzsubtomnlord559 yep, i always have mine on Rest mode. I had issues at first when the PS5 releases but works by resting from the home screen and not from in-game. but i think sony might have fixed that by now. thanks for the tip
OMG thank you I was searching for the web browser and now you gave me the best possible way to get it. Definitely worth trying to create my own picture in picture by just logging into whatever streaming account I want.
Great tips! It's really odd that the PS5 browser is so hidden, especially since they added the side-screen functionality. It's actually pretty useful, you can even watch RU-vid on it whilst playing a game at the same time. It's very strange there's no way of launching it anywhere in the menus.
There's also a feature where it randomly turns off one day and doesn't turn on again, only blinking with a blue light. Then you send it to PlayStation for repairs, and while they're "repairing" it, they ignore and ghost you for a month. Then, when they finally respond and return it, you get a busted and damaged ps5 instead of your original. Pretty cool feature, if you ask me
I only bought one like 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. The controller functions inc haptic feedback on the triggers, the new dash, graphics, loading speeds, memory, console noise reduction, customization, PSN with 1000s of games. Software updates that actually improve the system unlike eggsbox. The only negative is the storage being under 1TB.. you can buy additional built in storage but even a 4tb costs over $699 which I believe if the PS5 can handle? Then we should have 4tb as standard when bought. I'm aware it's all money making but all the memory is third partie hardware so it wouldn't even be Sony claiming the profit. So I believe 4tb should have just come as standard memory.
Unlike the PS4 that only offers your "Internal Storage" that if u want to upgrade you will have to replace said disk. PS5 comes with 825gb internal and you can ADD up to 4Tb (As of right now, as Gen 4 NVMe's are limited to that) For me thats vastly superior to PS4.
Oh yeah I still think it's awesome and a massive step up to the PS4 . I love the console like my own child 😂 but like I said , 1TB is still a little too low considering my PS4 Pro had 1TB and the PS4 games were smaller in size. E.g. Hitman 3 . PS4 25.7GB . Ps5 61.9GB . The games data is trebled but the internal factory storage stays at 1tb? It should be 3tb
You can pick up a 2TB SSD stick for about $160. Takes 5 minutes to install. Voila, 3 TB combined storage. Attach a USB external HDD cheap for games that don't need fast loading.
4:20 Another way which is a more in depth mod is you can buy a battery replacement for the controller that is double the capacity. Only takes a few minutes to install and pretty easy even if you’ve never opened a dualsense controller
Can’t recall if he mentioned this, but did you know? Holding the power button on the console for two beeps will shut it off completely. I’ve had my PS5 for two years and was unaware of this. Useful for quickly turning off your PS5 in rest mode.
@@dankgames8324 pretty much 2 beeps on PS5/PS4 was forced shutdown. The only difference is they added sleep mode on the last 2 consoles (If only pressed once).
Umm I learned this on ps3.. if you hold the power button for a few seconds it fully shuts down instead of going into rest mode. I figured this was common sense 🤷♂️.. the beeps you hear just tell you if ur shutting down or going into rest mode.. 1 beep to enter rest mode and 2 beeps for full power down.. but if ur saying I can fully shut my ps5 down while it’s in rest mode with out having to turn it on be fore shutting it down.. thats something I dident know
Don't disable those functions in the controller. Just buy a longer cable or a adapter. It's a great thing and when you turn it off you just get a regular controller like the PS4 has. You want a next gen feel
One thing no one is saying witch effects gameplay. Is when the controller is muted it shuts off all adaptive trigger functions. In either mute or mute all. For instance, if you don't like the adaptive trigger function just mute the controller and you have a regular triger function, not adaptive.
It also shows PS3 games and the times you've played on them. I had Skylanders when I was 7 with over a 500 hours on it cause I used to play it everyday with my brother's. I saw it on ps4 when I was going through my trophies, and I saw it on ps5 when I thought to look at my game times
I've had my PS5 for a month now and I love it. I even like the UI which at first I was not sure about. Only thing I'd really like to have is a proper way of organizing the games in the home screen. Not the "keep in home wherever the systems decides option" neither the "organize in folders in the library needing to go to another tab to see them"... But actual folders and manual sorting in the home screen, you know, like the PS4.
The PS3 was great for handling all your games in a drop-down option. A much better-organized way than the PS5. Hell, they could've also introduced the PS4 folder system a little better on the home screen.
@@bernardcole9991 I enjoy my PS5 as well. It's just the home screen is kinda rubbish, I just wish they went with a PS4 home screen with folders for games instead of them being in the game library.
For the microphone one there is also another handy solution tap the ps button so the quick menu comes up and go to sound and turn game chat audio off it mutes you and everyone else in case you don’t want to listen to a guy munching down the mic
I absolutely hate hearing ppl eat on the mic so thanks for that tip, you'd think ppl would be smart enough to do that before hopping on the game.. and they always pick the loudest foods, very disrespectful IMO
About storage, you forgot to mention that you can add ssd disks into your PS5 for more memory. 500GB, 1TB and 2 TB ssd disks are available. So stop deleting games to clear memory space and get a disk
1 thing that I hate about my ps5 is the automatic capture feature. I DON'T want it and I don't see any where to turn. This off. Every time there is a cut scene a message comes up notifying me that capture has been paused. Why can't I just turn it off? So if there is a way to do this maybe include it in a part 2?
very nice video, I knew most of the topics but it's always nice to have a reminder ;) Please make a part 2 And to answer your question, I have 1352 games in it... 🙂
The big thing that I got from this was the hold the power button for 10 seconds, the rest I learned with time and friends that got the ps5 before I did, still a great video
So many secrets because everyone can't get one. I'm at a point where I might as well wait for the slim or pro version but those will probably get sold out immediately too
They're just now starting to be widely in stock at retail price. I won't be surprised if the PS5 pro spends 2 years with insufficient supply and scalpers using AI to buy up all stock to resell it for twice as much, and by that time, the PS6 will be just 2 years away. Until companies find a way to combat scalpers and insufficient supply, gaming will continue to stagnate. Games aren't even truly next gen because most console games are still made with last gen in mind.
You don't need to go to options to mute the controller mic, just tap the mic button on your controller and it will mute all voice interactions, this will stay off even when you turn off, rest mode or restart the console, and good thing about the captures, it would be nice to share with friends easily this way via the app Had no idea about the voice control feature! Pretty cool!
Another thing most don’t know about the PS5 is the lack of Dolby vision and Atmos for gaming. Both are available on the competitors console and most all top game developers implement it in their games, Sony turns it off. It’s really mind boggling to not have the latest audio video formats/features from a company like Sony. It wasn’t to long ago that Sony was a top leader in the home theatre world, but with the PS5 they disable our hardware. Playing games like uncharted on the pc I get full in ceiling speaker support while on the ps5 they get disabled. That’s pretty sad to see as it was a Sony exclusive and as soon as it got ported to pc we get a much greater experience with full home theatre support. Sony needs to add Atmos and Dolby vision, HDR10 is pretty outdated already and so is standard surround sound without in ceiling audio. Both formats are 10/9 years old to date.
