Usually if you buy lemang & the seller didn't remove the bamboo is because it can last longer around 2-3days.glad you enjoyed our local Raya dishes ❤❤

The different textures of lemang and ketupat is because they are cooked differently. Lemang is open fire roasted, while ketupat is boiled.

There is a few type of rendang 1st - either dry or the one with sauce 2nd - diff state have different way of preparing. Some family may have their own way of cooking. Try rendang tok and rendang dendeng. A bit unique than the usual one you see

if you want to cook it you can use adabi rendang paste. the taste is quite good

You know why its rendang, serunding, ketupat and lemang? These food when cooked properly last a few days, good for travel and warfare rations. These are the old Malay version of the current army MRE. Malays are seafarers and meals that lasts while travelling is essential.

1) Ketupat vs Lemang Ketupat generally uses normal rice, but they are cooked till mushy so that they r sticky. Lemang uses sticky/glutinous rice. The leafy wrap for both give these two rice dishes their fragrance. The plastic version of ketupat is the modern way ketupat are made whereby the rice are mashed and piped into plastics before being boiled. 2) Rendang They are many versions of rendang, not just by the type of meat (generally ayam, kambing of daging/beef) but also the type of spice added and how much the liquid is reduced. There is a type called Rendang Kering (Dry Rendang) whereby the taste is pretty intense. Some rendang are cooked till they are so dry, they become a kind of snacks that fishermen can bring along for days out to the sea (Just imagine them as kinda like floss meat, but maybe slightly wetter) Enjoy!!

Most people don't like to eat lamb meat because they said the meat is a bit smelly but if you know the real way to cook it actually the lamb meat is really delicious🤭🤭🤭🥰🥰

We have 2 types of ketupat. First, ketupat nasi, made of rice as in your video. Ketupat nasi is more popular in the south and west Peninsular. Second is ketupat palas (or ketupat pulut) made of glutinous rice and wrapped in palas leave. Ketupat palas is more popular in the north and east coast Peninsular.

Lemang = Glutonous Rice cooked with coconut milk in Bamboo Trunk.. Lemang Lerek Gombak use Lerek leave in Bamboo trunk.. But in some orang asli uses Monkey cup do Lemang too..but that's Steam cooking

Cringe betul tengok korang makan 1. You can cut the lemang on the newspaper. Just take it out of the bamboo. 2. Remove the banana leaves, put it on the newspaper then put the lemang in your plate. 3. Cut the ketupat & remove the leaves. Put ketupat on your plate. 4. Cedok la rendang tu ke pinggan masing-masing yang ada lemang & ketupat. 5. Makan!
