We harvested the vegetables (utan) from the garden to add to our Filipino dish a clear fish soup recipe. These ingredients are for our clear soup recipe Filipino style fish Tinola. We cooked a fish called Mamsa and this fish was really awesome!
Hello! We are Koreans living in the countryside Philippines. We share our unique and mouthwatering cooking short stories of both Korean and Filipino food.

It's almost as if it is a foreign dish. I have never heard of or tried this dish up here in the northern part of the Philippines. It's also interesting to note that the ripe tomatoes were not cooked very well to blend with the broth, which shows that Koreans like their tomatoes just partly cooked, and that is not a bad thing either. Ma'am Su's laughter made me smile. Her husband is such a funny man.

We Cebuanos do fish Tinola, and true we don’t overcook the kamatis coz our folks hate a sour soup, only me likes sinigang a lot

I agree. They call it tolang isda. More of like nilaga.

@@mylesaway79 Oh! It's the opposite of Kampampangan and Ilocano way of cooking. My mother-in-law once scolded our helper for not cooking the tomatoes thoroughly before adding in other ingredients.

We've learned that there are so many different versions of Tinola in Philippines which is very interesting. And the way of cooking has their own twists according to the places or provinces. In the province we are living now, the Fish Tinola is very popular thanks to @mylesaway79 explained very well. And thank you so much for your compliment too! For those who want to cook the ripe tomatoes well, you can cook it according to your likings! We don't like the overcooked or soggy tomatoes so, we added them in the soup at the end and cooked them just for a very short time 😉

Coming from a family of Bisaya, it's a staple dish especially during the rainy season and is my comfort food. The fish you use are usually saltwater fish with firm meat, nowadays I use pampano. You don't over cook the tomatoes, and the greens I use are onion springs, dahon sili, and malunggay or dahon kamote. I usually cook this for my Ilocana wife. It's simple with a clean taste.

I love these kind of videos. Pure, simple, soothing, and it just hits home seeing couples sharing their meals and just having fun. Also, There's no perfect recipe to any dish. Remembered her saying that it hits the spot and that's what really matters. Hopefully they can share in the future even more traditional Korean meals so that we can try it as well. ❤

Filipino food can be prepared with any meet you want literally breakfast tocinos tapas can all be switched around, with any meet hahaha. You want healthy break fast egg with tomatoes add eggplant in it, add chopped potatoes, add curry powder add onions add garlic whatever been there done that absolutely fantastic I'm filipino without limitations of cooking you can even add kimchi with it so freaking easy. I have tasted so many dishes here in the state from all over the world and now I can simply modify My filipino food into anything. That's the beauty of Filipino food or for any food for that matter.
