I just want to share how I got to know about Jessica Ho who now goes by JESSI.. lol Many many many years ago we had to download our songs, no Spotify which I can’t believe I’m even paying for... and I wanted to download Ciara’s 1,2 Step (really showing my age here), and so you searched the song on kazaa or something and you download it. Sometimes you’d get viruses and whatnot LOL. Welp I thought I dl’d ciaras song but somehow it was Jessica H.O’s 1,2 Step and that’s how far back it was. By the time I searched her up bc the song sounded so good and sweet, she had a “scandal” because she “badmouthed” BoA at the time (think Jay Park / 2PM on a lower scale).. eventually I saw her again on SMTM and she’s been on the up and up since then... her voice is different now but she’s definitely very very talented. I just felt the need to put this out in the universe lol. And her taste in men, Jungkook? 😘✨💜
She may have said the same to both, but it just got edited that way. Still, at 13 you are in middle school and starting to figure out that there are some tough choices in life coming. Those boy are still in elementary school it looked like and school isn't as deadly serious yet.
This is why I love her. She gives the “I’m not the one who you can mess with” and cool confident vibes and all, but behind all that is a warm, loving, and sincere soul. Real queen.
She didn’t want to wrap. She was enjoying with those kids. Cause kids never judge. They are always honest with their Opinions. People judged Jessi all in her life. But she stayed strong and standing proudly where she is now
The reason she started doing her own interview show was to give idol a safe place to express themselves. Cause she said once whenever she went to any variety show they would always ask her about her body, her accent not about her work. Not about what she was doing. I am so proud of her
I'm actually surprised and feel so proud when the kids recognized Jessi. I've been watching this channel's vids for almost 30 mins now, and what I have noticed is that: these kids usually don't know the guest celebs that they are with.
I see why Jessi said that being a kindergarten teacher was her dream. She's really good with kids and I think if I have a child now, I wouldn't mind having Jessi as their teacher at all.
This. Watching this literally made my inner child go from laughing to crying because of how caring she is. She’s an inspiration. Reminds me of the quote “be the person who you needed when you were growing up.” Because she gives me those vibes 100%.
Why is no one talking about the kid thinking that korean-american means having fifty-fifty korean-american faces...these kids are so innocent and funny 😭😂
I'm pretty sure they are talking about language and how in English everyone is spoken to in the same way. But I have heard that in Korean you have to speak respectfully to someone older than you. There are even language differences.
@@lizsays3324 From my observation, Americans are really friendly. Strangers greet you in the streets. Very different from East Asia where people keep to themselves.
I would say people from Southern states are very friendly. In the North it depends, small town or tourist place, friendly, big city, people want their space. The US is so big, each region can be really different even though the language is the same.
The comment I came looking for THis is where my fandoms collided and I could hear Trixie gasping SOOOO LOUD as Jessi violently snatched the doll out of the box 🤣
@kanubish she literally grew up in america with american beauty standards. idk korean standards are so harsh and have such high expectations for idols. as an american myself she is literally the american beauty standard, i get that because she was born and raised in america. i hope people soon realize that even though she is korean she grew up in america with american beauty standards. she is so beautiful, her songs are great. i love her
“it’s okay to cry and make mistakes, people always make mistakes and learn from them. fall down again and again then get up one more time” how can people hate this kind of person 🥺
@@InternetStranger902 yes it is, but, a good handful of fans don’t actually realise that there’s a difference between a celebrity and a normal human being. People think they have magic powers and have no feeling or smth. People forget they can get hurt.
Jessi is full of so much chaotic energy, but she has a heart of gold when it comes to how she spoke to the four ODG stars. She tried to impart some wisdom she has had to learn over the years, tried to build up their confidence with well-earned compliments, and still was fun and silly in an attempt to help them relax a little around her. She's a talented musician, and clearly a lovely person. I hope she keeps knocking it out of the park with hit after hit.
Jessi has to be one of the most REAL and unfiltered Kpop celebs. Loved her interaction with the kids, especially how she tried to get them to speak casually to her. She's someone who'd be great fun to just hang out with regardless of your age.
"Do you wanna watch the CCTV?!" Boy got his receipts! But seriously, at his age, he's so wise enough to know about CCTVs and how to defend himself wisely without violence. Kudos.
in one of the episodes (i think it was with bobby) he said boys of his school bullied him :( please it made me so sadddd he's such a cutie and smart kid, it's a relief that he knows he doesn't deserve being treated that way and that he knows how to defend himself
Jessi is that one friend that is really hard to find. She taught people from her experience, to spend time with their family. Overall, she’s friend you’ll never have
So adorable how Jessi was trying to make the kids talk causal to her. At first you can see they are tense and a bit confused, but they definitely loosen up by the end. This was great 😌
Nobody's talking about how the girl got shocked when Jessi said she's so accepting, she doesn't realise that not everybody is as accepting as her :") Bless her soul
shes’ really good at speaking. showing that dreams don’t come instantly for all. shes’ dropping truth bombs but this helps to make people understand what chasing something means. she seems cool. and she’s not talking down at them either
Despite the vibe she gives on the outside Jessi has very caring on the inside and says she wants to be a mom. What you see here is how she would be with her children.
when Jessie said, "but I do get depressed and cry alone at home sometimes. you can't help that because we're humans. it's okay to cry and make mistakes. people always make mistakes and learn from them. fall down again and again, then get up one more time. that's confident woman." that's very meaningful ㅠㅠ that's more important
In my country open ur gift infront of who gifted is consider as insult and disrespect. Its a very non classy act to do😆😆😆. I grasp Everytime Whenever I see some people from another part of world do that 😲😲😲. But It's okay, difference is the thing that make us curious about others.
@@RSKoli-kr8uj In my country is the opposite,if someone gifts you money or even a packaged gift its disrespectful if you dont open it in front of them and say "thank you" to show your exitement.
I carefully open presents and neatly fold the wrapping paper. I'm far from a neat freak. It just seems a shame to destroy what someone spent time making beautiful. Friends do joke about it though lol
I love how she told the girls that it's okay to be sad and it's okay to cry, because being a confident woman doesn't mean not falling down at all, but it means getting back up when you inevitably do. That's so inspiring and it's something I'll try to remember as well
Yess!! Her advice is really motivating. I'll also try to follow her advice. People honestly think that just because someone is confident like Jessi...they don't get affected. I'm really happy that Jessi gave such a true and honest insight on everything.
Yea I needed to hear that. I know that crying doesn’t mean weakness, but I always feel vulnerable and exposed when I allow myself to cry in front of others.
I wish she also told them that her insecurities led her to do so much UNNECESSARY cosmetic surgery and putting all that filler in her lips. She doesn´t look fully human. Jessi has so much charm and natural beauty that she did not need to do that to herself. It is sad and I wish she had told those girls to know that beauty is an inside job.
@@daysjours do i truly believe that everyone is genuinely beautiful with the features theyre born with? yes. do i think it's sad that so many girls feel the pressure to look better because theyre convinced theyre ugly? extremely. but i also think jessi has the right to look however she wants to look. it's her face so it's her choice. if someone chooses to do something that makes them feel better then i will 100% support that. because we have no right to comment on what is and isnt ok for her to do with her own body. she isnt going around telling kids to get surgeries right? she just did them for herself. so who cares. let her be. shes beautiful inside and outside, with or without surgery.
I love her so much. Jessi has been taking my heart away. She is so powerful, yet she is so soft, she understands, she is fun and so kind and she is preaching and teaching how to be just yourselves, which is the most precious thing ever 😭❤️
She's so precious for someone who went through a lot. She still managed to save her soft & warm heart ❤. She deserves to be treasured & loved. I wish people would see her for who she really is rather than the savage armor she wears to protect herself from this cruel world 🥰❤
They say kids always speak honestly, calling as they see it. Finally! Jessi got to be on camera with others who are just as honest she is. No wonder their time together went so well.
jessie is an amazing person, people just hate her because she's unapologetically confident and strong, she says whats on her mind and people don't like that especially if you are a woman.
Fr i dont Stan her and this was the first video I watched of her, I immediately want to Stan her, I love how truthfully she talks, you can tell she means it
@@reothomas7624 because its true, the double standards for women in that industry is awful. are you so tired of women bringing each other up that you find it necesarry to reply to me? you are a man so you better stfu
American culture is everyone's friend But America is a country with serious racial discrimination issues. Is there any meaning of a friend to America, which has a culture of racist against blacks, Hispanics and Asians?😂
@@ushdbrr1293 um except there are tons of people in america who actually appreciate other people of other skin colour and race so try to see the positive side of americans too
is no one gonna talk about how the kids still couldn't talk to her casually even they were said so. They're so respectful. Sorry for wrong grammars If I had.
it’s so satisfying to see even kids know her now. it took so long for her to recieve the recognition she deserves, i’m so proud and glad that she didn’t give up. thank you jessi, you’re doing great 💚
Ugh, what is there not to like about Jessi? Sure she’s unconventional but she’s also a confident, unapologetically bold woman who’s humble, good with kids, and tries to be a good role model for them too. I love it 🤧❤️
I honestly love the contrast between Jessi's on stage persona and her off stage persona. Jessi is really soo sweet. People assume that because she's American and bold..She's not a good person. Like I love that she breaks the stereotypes and is unapologetically herself. It's such a contrast from the typical idol behaviour and she seems to really give everyone confidence and love around her 😆😄😊
It was really nice to hear her story, it’s not easy to be part of the entertainment industry and to achieve success as you get older, her words were really heartfelt ❤️
Jayenne Giselle She has an outgoing personality even for a lot of American celebrities on tv, she is an unique person who is very extroverted and is a natural entertainer. I think a lot of Americans look at her and is like super proud of her or something because she’s unapologetically herself and try to call her refreshing comparing her to other kpop idols,.. but I haven’t seen a lot of young American celebrities in Hollywood who is like her either. I can’t think of one young American influencer/celeb who would ever have the balls to be like Jessi in the public eye, even girls like Emma Chamberlain went through a whole couple of years where she was hated by everyone just because of the fact that she was simply maturing and growing up and taking advantage of new opportunities. That shows how much young American celebrities are put into boxes and do not have the privilege to do what they want publicly. I’ve noticed many Americans also like to think of Jessi as some sort of martyr because they think she’s having such a hard time in Korea, being SO different from the “straight laced, conservative norm “ that they want to picture Korea as., lmao, a lot of Koreans love Jessi. There are a lot of Korean celebrities that are like her, but are simply not universally known. To many international fans that only see young kpop idols, they don’t exist. Id just like to stress the fact that there’s A LOt more to Korean entertainment than simply the kpop/kdrama world, its understandable that international fans don’t know about it due to the language barrier since they can only look through the internet and see things that have English subs. But it’s not excusable when so many international fans spread false information like they’re facts. If I know I cannot be completely aware of what’s going on because of the language barrier and such, I shut my mouth and I do not talk about it. Even tho I’ve actually been to Ethiopia and lived there for a month, I don’t talk about how the people are like there because I did not get to connect with the vast majority of the people I met there due to the language barrier. Yet I was pretty surprised to see so many international fans online talk so easily about and even FOR Koreans, even tho the maximum experience they’ve ever had with Koreans is seeing them through RU-vid or something fictional and only the English subbed ones at that. Also, Jessi’s type of personality is very enjoyed and more importantly, is very familiar amongst Koreans, I think that’s why she’s so well known even to the young children here, who didn’t even know any of the kpop idols. I’m Half Korean, I can guarantee every Korean kid has someone like her in their family, especially if you have relatives from jeollanamdo, or kyungsangdo.

jessi: "you got to play with this carefully" *also jessi: rips barbie out of her box, trying to dislocate her body parts, aggressively pulling and brushing her hair*
jessi playing rock paper scissors, foot jump, putting stickers on a book and playing with barbies with a bunch of kids was something i never knew i needed until now
This is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Jessi is so inspiring and honest and it's great that she's so real and talks about her experiences and being accepting with the younger generation. The kids are so mature and cute!
