Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where today is all about finding the best Korean moisturiser as part of the channels Korean skincare haul series. I have fallen in love with Korean skin care recently so I hope you enjoy these new finds as much as I do.
Korean skincare has to be one of the hottest trends of the past 2 years and I have been on a Korean skin care journey of discovery as part of this skincare haul series and found some amazing new options for my own skincare routine. Todays video is dedicated totally to korean moisturizers, the best products for adding that instant hydration to your own skin care routine.
All the recommendations in todays video are cruelty free, there is something for every skin type and I would love to know what your thoughts and feelings are on the recommendations so please leave me a comment below.

Some things I want to clarify: - Isntree and some other brands use words like "Moist" and "Fresh" to indicate different versions of the same product that are aimed at different skin types. For example, Isntree Aloe Soothing Gel Moist (great aloe gel by the way) is thicker and aimed at drier skin types and Isntree Aloe Soothing Gel Fresh is lighter and aimed at oily skin types. Japanese skincare also does this. Hada Labo's famous "lotions" (they're toners, yes it's a little confusing) are also separated into "Light" and "Moist" types. - I watch some Korean RU-vidrs with subtitled videos and occasionally they mention how a skincare product "fills their skin with nutrients" or something along those lines. I think it's just a language barrier thing. Perhaps they are just referring to how moisturizing the product is. Kelly Driscoll is one of my favorite skincare RU-vidrs. If anyone is looking for indepth K Beauty reviews and recommendations I'd recommend watching her videos. My favorite moisturizer is her holy grail Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream (which is sensitive skin friendly, does not make your face into a disco ball, and cheap for the amount you get).

Love to see another K-Beauty video from you! I think I might have to try the beauty of joseon moisturizer now 😄 It has been reformulated rather recently so I was wondering what the new formula would be like. Glad to hear you love it. Hi Rob, thanks for reviewing more Korean and Japanese skin care! ❣️ It sounds like we have similar skin types.. oily, break out prone, robust, but sometimes dehydrated. My favorite moisturizer for summer is the iUNIK Centella Calming Cream. It leaves my skin so bouncy and hydrated and sinks in like a dream. It does have some fragrance but it’s not strong or irritating. I just wish it wasn’t in plastic, I’m trying to eliminate as much as possible.

What a great video! I will add some of these products in my basket. When it come Sri Fruida, I have tried the avocado cream and I find it better for oily skin, as my skin is dry and more sensitive, and it wasn’t moisturising enough. But I use now the Fruida pomegranate cream, and is absolutely fantastic for my skin, especially during the cold months. So far the best face moisturiser, and I tried plenty of them.

Thank you for another awesome video!! Sunscreen and moisturizer is something I am constantly on the hunt for. Those are the hardest to find the perfect one. I do have a suggestion: It would help a lot if we could see the finish it is leaving on your hand. Like maybe hold your hand up near the camera and twist your wrist back and forth so we can see how it is laying. Like Sarah from no bs does. This helps a lot bc then we the viewers can “be there with you” and see what you see. :) I appreciate you applying the products now in the videos because I know you weren’t doing it previously and now you are. keep being awesome!!

Hi! I was really interested to hear what you thought about the iUNIK moisturizer as I was tempted the other day to buy this, but as it's thick I'm not going to spend my money! I've got oily skin like you, and a bit sensitive at times, and tend to buy gel-cream type moisturizers, but have trouble finding one that actually hydrates enough (because even with oily skin, we need some hydration, but just light! I'm sure you'll understand!). Very interested by the E Nature moisturizer! Thanks so much for this video! X

I have a 9 Wishes serum that I enjoy, so I'm certain I will love the moisturizer. That dynasty cream was such a gem, but I had to stop using the original formulation because of the essential oils. Such a dream to know I can use it now fragrance free!

The cool compound in the 9 wishes moisturizer is a combo of Apple mint, Thyme leaves, and Green tea.

I started the Dynasty cream and I literally cannot put it down! Another suggestion from E Nature is the Squeeze Green watery gel cream!! It's such an amazing summer moisturizer (I'm combination). It has tiny avocado capsules in it that melt as you apply. It's the cream that calmed my skin when it was a bit sun touched 2 weeks ago from a Mexico vacation. James Welsh was raving about it and he wasn't wrong... again! You should try it!

I am a stan of Illiyoon ato ceramide line, it comes in cream concentrate, lotion, soothing gel, balm, body wash, lip balm, hand cream and a water lotion aka toner in a spray form. They all have ceramide, cholesterol and fatty acids all perfect for healthy moisture barrier. I use this line all year around but change the product I use on my face depending on seasons, especially since I live in Australia and it does get very hot and humid to coldish weather. Stay healthy, safe and sane with lots of love from Australia ❤️😊

I've only used the Dynasty cream out of these (the old one before it was reformulated and repackaged) and loved it. The texure was lovely. I also love the Illiyoon ceramide cream, it's my dry skin saviour with it being so hydrating and fragrance/essential oil/alcohol free, and also the I'm from rice cream as a nice day cream for dry skin :)

I’ve been usinh the illiyoon ato cream too and it really repaired my ‘retinizing’ skin. I’ve been thinking of trying the dynasty cream. What are your thoughts on this? I have combo skin and live in a humid place

I loved the Isntree Cream. I didn't look at it as closely as you did, but it's unscented, cruelty-free and only $16 full-price, I got mine on sale for $10. It's just a really simple, no frills, face cream which is great cause I need something with no actives. My skin is being treated with tretinoin, and can get very dry and I use it before my tret as a buffer. I have found it very effective and moisturizing. Now is it the best moisturizer in the world? No, not even close. But is a good solid basic find? In my opinion, yes.

I'm one of those weirdos who likes to use a heavier cream in the morning and a lighter cream at night, and i absolutely LOVE iUNIK Beta Glucan Cream as a day cream. I used to use it as a night cream, but i felt like it was too heavy. Although my nose is the only oily side of my face, but i always feel uncomfortable waking up with an oily nose. And this cream did that. I ignored it for months, then i started to use it as a day cream, and oh boy ... this is such a great day cream! I don't know why, but my nose is usually much less shiny throughout the day if i use a heavy cream in the morning. Unfortunately, the price keeps getting more expensive each day. The last time i bought it in August 2020, it was only $6. Now it's around $16-$21. I'm currently loving the Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel because it's much cheaper and comes in a big 180 ml jar.

I use the iUNIK as my day cream too but I have dry skin and it sinks in quickly on me. I like the Purito centella as my night cream especially after retinol as it is even more moisturizing and soothing.

How many tubs of Blithe Pressed Serum do you have left? I liked it as a pressed serum but it didn’t do much to moisturize my lovely dry skin. The beta glucan was more my style. Have a fabulous day. ❤️

A bit surprised with the Iunik Beta Glucan. Because last year I used it, and I do remember it was light gel cream (a heavier than it sibling Iunik Tea Tree Gel but still gel like) not a thick gel . May be they the formulation a little bit. Great clip anyway 🥰🥰🥰

My favourite Korean moisturiser at the moment and will probably stay my holy grail is klairs all over supple preparation lotion. It’s great 😊 you can use it anywhere on body, even as a hair mask

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't tried many Korean skincare products. I buy my lip mask in bulk from YesStyle, Klavuu lip sleeping mask, and I also use a collagen sheet mask that I buy in bulk as well. I think since MAS skincare is in my future, I probably won't try any of these. ..except for the Dynasty cream. I looked on Stylevanna, and it comes in such a gorgeous jar, and has very high reviews. Plus, they said it smells wonderful. If I run out of my moisturizer, this is no. 1 on my list! Thanks so much for trying all these for us, Rob!

Thank you for the video! I have been eyeing the isntree one because I despise your “usual” hyaluronic acid products, serums, ampules, essences... it’s sticky city and makes me feel like I have clingfilm on my face. Plus in the ingredients it has triglycerides, ceramides and cholesterol, which are the three components of the skin barrier, so I hoped it’d be a good cream to support that but without feeling incredibly thick, more lotion like. I can deal with hefty creams, I like stuff like the first aid beauty ultra repair, but so much HA in the formula on a moisturiser makes me so worried is going to feel like shellac. I’m currently trialing the Klairs supple lotion as a day cream which also has ceramides so if that one feels comfortable I might just give the isntree one a pass.

I'm still enjoying Purito's unscented centella recovery cream. I have oily acne prone skin that sometimes becomes a little sensitive or dry due to my prescribed tretinoin. It is very soothing, non sticky, sucks into the skin and dries nicely, not leaving me looking like a greaseball :D I've even put on two layers before bed on super dry nights. It also works well and doesn't pill with mineral and chemical sunscreens :)

I'm looking for a moisturiser for post menopausal, sensitive skin; I'm also on a plethora of meds for an autoimmune condition. I used The Ordinary B5 Amino Acids for ages, then became sensitive to it...😣. Also found that products with niacinamide & HA can cause skin reactions if used daily... But every moisuriser seems to have them! Have spent a small fortune on various "sensitive" skin products such as Avene, Aveeno; Krave, Benton etc & all have caused reactions. Can't use anything with essential oils & fragrance. And would like a moisturiser without HA or Niacinamide but would love something anti-aging for my poor old skin... Any suggestions would be gratefully received.... currently using Soon Jung Cica Balm (2 days so far).... Xxx

Hi Rob, Happy Easter! I was using the links you provided to look into the BoJ Dynasty Cream and the ingredients on the StyleVana site show fragrance on the list. Has the product been reformulated? Thought you'd want to know since you mentioned in the video that it was fragrance-free. Might not be the best option for people with sensitive skin. Thanks for everything you do! 🥰

I know I'm a bit late to comment but I have very dry sensitive skin and the iunik beta glucan moisturizer is absolutely lovely! It soaks into my skin and feels moisturizing but not greasy. I don't think it would be enough for winter but it's perfect for our humid summer weather.

I have the Isntree HA moist creme, I like it, but stopped using it in the morning because I experienced pilling after using it over 2 serums. I believe the reason for that is too much HA. So I finish it up in the evening. I do have oily skin. I will try out the 9 wishes one after you recommended it 🙏🏻

I absolutely love that gel cream! It's so lightweight and soothing, so refreshing, and it's absolutely perfect for those times when my skin get a bit crazy after exfoliating or using retinol. Definitely a must-have product for sensitive skin, in my opinion.

I wanted to love the dynasty cream so much, but it just didn’t work for me unfortunately! But I have sent to my friend with dry/sensitive skin so hopefully she will love it 😊 Also I actually really liked the beta-glucan moisturiser, I have oily/combo skin but really dehydrated!

I've got oily skin in summer and dry skin in winter. I actually like iunik beta glucan in winter or in summer night. I sometimes leave it in my bag so if my skin gets dry so i can add more to my skin...

Your reviews really help to choose what to buy. Odd though, most reviews, like yours, of the dynasty cream (new version) say it's not sticky at all. My combination skin seems to be very strange, the dynasty cream is sticky on it, no matter how little I put on and even if I use it on wet skin and with no other products and with exfoliation the night before. It stays like that all day/night. It's also a little sticky on my hands. Meanwhile the IUnik beta-glucan cream is light, great for me and sinks in so well. (And more greasy creams easily get too greasy.) Or could it be that I got a dynasty cream that was faulty (the inner lid is quite loose)? :/

Based on my totally unscientific and anecdotal review, it seems like rice bran moisturizers are more suitable to dry skin types whereas oatmeal works nicely for oily skin (Aveeno's Oat gel is a dream) 😊 Love your Korean hauls, Rob!

I just ordered the snail cream from cosrx, the rovectin toner, and frudia's spf. Yesstyle sent me the bifida ampule (Isntree I think) for free and I'm willing to try it all :)

I placed an order on YesStyle and the iUnik face cream was one of the items I put in my cart! It's been three weeks and it hasn't arrived 😭 Makes me think that my products were aboard the Ever Given 😅

Did you check how many days does it take for the item to ship? It happened to me before and I was able to get the item removed from my purchase so all the others that were “held hostage” ship on time (arrived in one week). Stylevana is like that too. Below each item it would say “ships 1-2 days or 14-21 days. If one item takes 21 days, your whole order will ship when that one is available.

I was literally just thinking of trying some new moisturizers. Stylevana, here I come! Do people actually criticize companies for translation errors? That's so ridiculous! To be honest, I actually kind of like seeing errors on the packaging. I find it endearing that the company is trying to reach and expand into a western, English-speaking market. Besides, the translation is always 95%+ correct, just maybe a simple misspelling here or an improper verb tense there. In a weird way, it also makes me feel special, like I realize that the product I'm using isn't just a standard drug store cream that everyone else uses, but is a bit off the beaten path. I know that sounds snobby, but it makes me feel different and unique. I hope that makes sense. 😆

The word moist is very often used to distinguish two version of the same product from each other. When speaking about the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Cream, there is the "moist" version for dry skin and the "gel cream" for oily skin. I have combo dry skin, and I can't use that moist version for my T zone even in PM. So, I would strongly disagree that this couldn't be good for dry skin... Also Japanese products use this "moist" vs "light" version language. I don't totally get why moist is such a difficult word for so many, but English isn't my first language so that can affect🤷‍♀️ Whenever that word is being used in a RU-vid video, the person never fails to inform the audience how much he/she hates the word... I also noticed that you used the word hydration often in this video, and that made me wonder, did you actually meant to say moisture? I've understood that hydration is "water" and moisture is "oil"...?!

I love the Isntree one. I have combination to dry skin and I'm 18. I use it over oily or watery formulations, day and night and over my lips and in every way it works wonders
