@@SammyCee23 Numbers. Teutonic knights were not actually that numerous and their military strenght was dependent on help from knights from the west (mostly from the Holy Roman Empire of Germany). Also European battlefield did not prepare you properly for opponents like Mongols.

Balhae also called itself Goryeo, in 758 AD their king told Japan that he is the king of Goryeo.

Probably because China greatly influenced Korea and gave them Confucianism and many other things however Korea was regarded as a different country and not part of China( execept maybe for Han dynasty since they took over a portion of Korea). Protectorate General was moved to 新城 Xincheng, currently city of Fushun 抚顺). Both cities are directly East of Liao river. Jiu Tangshu (New book of Tang 舊唐書) 儀鳳二年(677), 授藏遼東都督, 封朝鮮郡王,註 316 還遼東以安餘民, 先編僑內州者皆原遣,註 317 徙安東都護府於新城.註 318 藏與靺鞨謀反, 未及發, 召還放邛州, 廝其人于河南·隴右, 弱窶者留安東. 藏以永淳(682-683)初死, 贈衛尉卿, 葬頡利墓左, 樹碑其阡. 舊城往往入新羅, 遺人散奔校勘 134突厥·靺鞨, 由是高氏君長皆絶. After the death of Cang 藏, King Gojang of Goguryo 고장왕(高藏王), Tang emperor elevated him to the title of WeiWeiQing(?) 衛尉卿 and raised a Tomb Stele left to the tomb of Jie Li 頡利. Former cities 舊城 were commonly absorbed by Shilla 新羅. Displaced peoples scattered and joined the Turks 突厥 and Mohe 靺鞨. ===========================
