For Filipino food etiquette we use serving spoons on every viand that is placed on the table. We don't care what you do on your plate like eating with bear hands, fine dining eating, oriental way or any other way but the viands always and always will have a serving spoon. hahaha

Exactly, we don't care whether it's barehands, chopsticks, fork & spoon etc... for aslong as there's a serving spoon EXCEPT "BOODLE FIGHT" on the banana leaf. But, i think in Korea... serving spoon is NOT uso... because i think it's a symbol of sharing...unity... But, in Pinas naman it's respect for other's...

As a Filipino, i've been eating these dish like almost once in 3 days because my mom loves to cook it and I don't want to eat it like in every week, i was like "mama ayoko muna nyan" but whenever I watch you cook those dish it always gives me cravings for it. XD idk why? i feel sorry now to my mom that i want to eat others cooking xD

I think you stopped at the perfect point with the garlic this time. Not too brown. It's very easy to go from brown to burnt. And yes, "simmer" is more appropriate, boiling meat will make it tough. These videos are really a joy to watch. I wouldn't mind owning 10 Seasons of JeSylMoy. 😄

These are 2 of my favorite dishes to cook when i feel like eating filipino foodies while here in Korea (adobo and fried rice) ...and omg! you mentioned Sylvia's aglio e ilio spaghetti, i love it. When I pair adobo with fried rice, I just transfer the cooked adobo to another bowl and use the same frying pan/pot to cook the fried rice. The fried rice will absorb all the remaining juices and I end up with instant adobo rice!

I like my adobo sweet and spicy. I love my own cook Adobo then I add rice and mix it on the pan hahaha. I don't add water right away and let the meat absorb the soy sauce and sugar first then add vinegar and add water after 1 minute.

Always put the gravy sauce from the adobo over the rice and mix it up to enjoy the adobo and adobo us best serve in plain steam rice but to each its own good job

Something that I do when garlic rice is kind of bitin I just mix the plain rice with it (1:1 maybe) then everything becomes garlic rice again.

How do you guys like/cook your Adobo? I remember Bretman Rock's mom likes to put carrots on their adobo. Our household likes it to be a little bit sweet with elevated peppery taste. We also put fried potatoes and banana ketchup.
