Hello, Welcome to AWESOME WORLD~!! PB and J is the BEST!! If you have your own delicious food combination, let us know in the comments~! And don't forget to subscribe for more fun content :)
Nobody put gummy bears on they sandwich, unless you a little kid trying to feed yo parents food you made in the play kitchen🤢... Edit: I just finished who are yall consulting for some of these 😂 mayo and banana bread!?!?
Mayo and banana sandwiches are actually pretty common in certain parts of the south. For example a lot of my family is from Tennessee and some of them would make these sandwiches as a snack while waiting for dinner to get done
I’ve heard of the peanuts in coke and obv chicken and waffles (there’s 2 places here that exclusively serve that lol) and pb&j but some of the others I’ve never heard of lol
I can say that average people in my country don't like peanut butter at all, so naah, we don't eat pb & j sandwiches 😂 actually I think we don't eat even 10% of things that people from USA eat
It's a very wester thing imo. Here where i live you either spread your bread with peanut butter or Jelly not both. Or we just dip our bread in coffee. 😂
Good food combinations: Pretzel and chocolate Sweet and sour sauce with fries Buffalo sauce with chicken nuggets Fruit and chocolate Celery with peanut butter Apples with caramel or peanut butter Yogurt and granola
Just watched a video based on Southern foods by Southerners and the weird combos are real food here. I'm a Damn Yankee so we didn't eat those foods where I was from, just PB &J.
Me too. Their impression of what it is was spot on. Most folks who haven't had it think it's gross; it's refreshing to see an understanding of the flavor profiles involved, but also so sad they didn't get to try it.
Ya it can’t be lol same with mayo and bananas. If people actually eat those I’m genuinely confused and concerned. I’ve never heard of those combos here.
I’m not sure if you guys have access to a Wendy’s but dipping French fries in a chocolate frosty is HEAVENLY. Also, that reaction to the chicken/waffles is perfect 😂
Hi there! Southerner here! My Grandfather and I would do the peanuts and coke while working on the farm together when I was younger. It keeps your snack clean so that you can munch on peanuts and drink your soda at the same time while still taking care of the animals and fences and field garden and things. You would have to actually pause for a break to eat the peanuts separately.
That's really cool. I've never actually heard of that combination before and I've lived in Illinois my entire life (not saying it's southern, just that I would have thought I would have heard of that by now)
As an American, here are some of my favorite popular food combinations I think you should try. - pineapple and chicken pizza - hot wings and ranch dressing - peanut butter and celery sticks - milk and chocolate chip cookies - French fries and vanilla or chocolate milkshake
@@NaishiYT What is so absurd about it? It's literally just chicken and a bread product. Albeit a sweet one, but salty and sweet pairings are nothing new. Have you ever heard the saying "don't knock it till you've tried it" There are far weirder combinations out there. Like there are some places in England that put cheddar cheese in apple pie. And if you are so close minded that chicken and waffles disgust you to this extent I honestly feel sorry for you. Have fun living under a rock and eating the same three things the rest of your life.
@@NaishiYT It's a pretty common expression. And again sweet and salty is an incredibly common flavor pairing. Ever have trail mix? Salted watermelon? Caramel popcorn? I could go on all day. It seems you have a problem more with waffles in general in which case I hate to tell you that no one cares.
American here, never in my life seen gummy bears on a sandwich. Looks so gross. The only way I can see this happening is if a really young child was putting together a sandwich and maybe they just wanted candy. But I kind of see that as bad parenting. No kid, you cannot have just candy for lunch. My opinion.
Once in awhile isn't going to hurt them, don't be a dictator parent. I'm not saying they should be allowed gummy bear sandwiches every day, but once a month or something, as a treat? Sure, go for it.
@Chloe Kennedy Shrimp and grits hell yeah. My fiance is Korean and I make her Cheese grits with bacon and she loves it. Have to use very low sodium chicken stock/broth tho since bacon is so salty.
I was kind of scared for a second. If you never had a pb&j how were you even IN America. I feel bad for you, my best friend also has a peanut allergy and she can't have the most delicious peanut favored snacks so I am sorry.
Texas girl here, and I've seen the peanuts and coke be done. But have never once tried it. They are very correct that the tradition is dying out. I hope one day to come to Korea and try your foods 🤩🙏
Nahh y’all made these combos up 😂😂 ain’t nobody eating mayo and bananas, gummy bears on a sandwich, peanuts and coke, and so on Something real sus is going on here 👀😂 After the PB&J they threw all honesty out the door 😂😂 I’m sure they started making things up to torture my guy on his birthday
Ahjusshi _Brown most of these are southern things, the only one I’ve never seen is the gummy bears on a sandwich. A banana sandwich is 100% a real southern thing, I grew up eating them (and still do) 😋
I’m about to change some lives with two of the best PB&J’s ever..... - toast bread - butter both sides - peanut butter both sides - add jelly/jam of choice to one side and close - smile with glee as you enjoy epic pb&j Second one I had at a catered breakfast conference and my life was never the same.... - take two slices of banana bread - peanut butter one side, and strawberry jam or preserves on the other - enjoy something that sounds weird but tastes like it was prepared by baby angels
I am 47 years old and I've never heard of a banana and mayo sandwich, nor a gummy bear sandwich, I live in the south. Have them try things like boiled peanuts or peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Why even mention chicken and waffles and ask them how they'd rate it never having tried it. Another great sandwich for them to try would be the Monta Cristo. It's a deep fried sandwich and every recipes different lots of different flavor combos inside topped with powdered suger and blueberries or maple syrup... Bar none the best sandwich ever created.
There are so many different types of Monte Cristo, and each one tastes totally different. But if you get a well-made one -- the one that's fully batter dipped, deep fried, and covered in powdered sugar -- mmmmmm. My favorite sandwich! It's also probably the most unhealthy sandwich you could possibly make, but if you're going to die anyway, may as well die with a mouth full of happiness.
@pierusofpella I went to a place in Dallas that put a fresh blueberry syrup on top... This Monte Cristo had deep fried jalapenos and grilled portabellas, and onions in it as well. At least 4 different types of cheese and several types of meat. By far the best deep fried sandwich I'd ever had. The other Monte Cristo I'd had was in Tulsa and it was my second favorite there weren't any frills per se but it was covered in syrup and powdered sugar. The meat was all very high quality and the cheeses were amazing as well. So anyway I don't know factually if these deep fried sandwiches would be actual Monte Cristo's but that's what they were called. Any place I go to that has them on the menu I give them a try.
I remember when I found out not everyone puts peanuts in their coke. It was really common where I grew up and I confused why not everyone would do it lol
You should make them the Elvis sandwich: peanut butter, banana, and bacon (and sometimes honey). Also, if they want to add some crunch to their pb &j, try just toasting the bread.
Elvis never put bacon on his pb&j, that's just a myth. The Elvis is basically peanut butter and sliced bananas on Wonder Bread, then you melt a stick of butter in a skillet and toast it in the pan like you would a grilled cheese sandwich.
@@skyandropoulos2305 To be honest I thought it had fluffernutter and no bacon, but that is a different sandwich apparently. Looking in to it, most of recipes include bacon, and per the wikipedia there are various sources that state he had crispy bacon on it, at least sometimes.
1. I’m so sad they didn’t get to try chicken and waffles, cause it’s literally the best thing ever 2. Mayo and bananas are 100% a preference, they should’ve tried tomato’s and mayonnaise cause it’s way more common 3. Peanuts go better with PEPSI 🤭
You actually like the fruit and mayo that's weird. I don't want to sound rude because I know that I am VERY weird so I honestly don't care about what you eat but how does fruit and mayo taste? If I upset you earlier, I eat McDonalds burgers with sweet&sour sauce if that's weird to you...
I'm feeling you when you're demanding Nutella instead of mayo for that banana open-face sandwich. That sounds about right. Also, I've never seen a fruit + mayo combo. I have seen mayo instead of cream cheese in savory finger (tea) sandwiches such as cucumber, and I've seen cream cheese + fruit sandwiches, but I've never seen mayo + fruit. Mayo in the savory ones is okay, but cream cheese remains the better option.
To be fair, I've put chips on a variety of sandwiches and it adds a nice salty crunch to whatever you're eating. I've probably only put it on a Peanutbutter and Honey sandwich like once or twice but if you're not for odd or mixed textures in food you might enjoy it more with a savory meal like a ham or turkey sandwich that already has some form of crunch on it (i.e. pickles, lettuce or other greens, etc). Basically, if you're willing to eat a sandwich with chips (or crisps or what have you), why not put it all together?
I think it is due to what the the US calls jelly isn't what the rest of the world calls jelly. I saw a post on it once and I think jelly to the rest of the world is like what we call gummi.
@@arcanask I didn't say it wasn't. I was just stating that there is a difference between what the US considers jelly and what other countries consider jelly.
Everyday in school for 5 years I ate pb&j sandwiches. The 5 year I was sick of eating it so I would give my friends who didn't bring lunch the sandwiches
As an American.... I'm telling you they set you up! Nobody puts gummies on PBJ or bananas on a slice of mayo bread. But they DO put bananas on a slice of peanut butter bread sometimes and it's quite delicious. Also, I can't wait for you to try chicken and waffles. I have it for the first time a few years ago and fell in love lmao
@Bondo McJefferson no, you guys are the ones using it incorrectly. Jelly, like Jam is a fruit spread, the difference between the two is that Jelly is made from fruit juice and Jam is made from fruit pulp. Furthermore, Jell-O is something completely different as it is made from Gelatin and not fruit (unless you add it). recipes.howstuffworks.com/question84.htm#:~:text=The%20difference%20between%20the%20three,fruit%20pulp%20or%20crushed%20fruit.
@Bondo McJefferson learn etymology, bro. U.S. english is the truer form of english. the reason being is when the language was brought over to the U.S. it changed very little for a long time, but back in GB it was changing a lot from heavy french and Spanish influences. its why we have differences like Fall and Autumn, Fall originates from Old English while Autumn comes from French/Latin. its also i suspect (not certain) where you guys get all your unnecessary "u" 's from. also, i take it you decided to not explore the link i sent because if you did it would have explained that Jelly and Jam are made from Pectin which comes from the fruit, while Gelatin comes from animal skin/bone. and yeah ill admit that modern Americans tend to use the term Jelly in reference to Jams and preserves, its kind of like how we use brand names to refer to a product even if its made by someone else like Jell-O or Tylenol. however, PB&J has been around since at 1901 and i can guarantee you it was use appropriately then. www.nationalpeanutboard.org/news/who-invented-the-peanut-butter-and-jelly-sandwich.htm#:~:text=In%201901%2C%20the%20first%20peanut,written%20by%20Julia%20Davis%20Chandler.
@Bondo McJefferson That's... not how language works. There's no "correct" way to speak a language, every language has regional variants, and even individual ones, and they change over time. Both of you, stop being elitist pricks. "Jelly" in the US is like a pulp-free jam, for which there is no British English equivalent. If you're in England, then "jelly" is flavored gelatin. They're both right and both wrong, depending on where you are. Enough with the nationalistic nonsense on both sides, it's exhausting.
People say that fruit and pizza don't go together... So, what? You're not gonna eat it with sauce anymore? Because the sauce is tomato and tomato is a fruit 😂😂 No olives either? Olives are a fruit.
My grandmother used to make me cream cheese and miracle whip(mayo alternative) sandwiches. We also ate mayo, tomato and cheese sandwiches and cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches. We lives in the south where my dad is from but my mom’s family is from up north so we had a mix of southern/northern foods.
Y'all really just showed them a picture of chicken and waffles, and said "well what do you think?" 😂😂😂😂 Then the guy who grew up eating bananas and mayo! The producers are too funny.
They should have tried Penut Butter and banana. Bread should be toasted with each of these choices to have a better taste!! Love their reaction to not trying out chicken and waffles. 😂💜❤
Some of these are weird. Like the Mayo and banana on bread,gummy/chip bear sandwich. Most every one has had a PB&J sandwich unless they are allergic to peanuts. And as a Southern girl we do sometimes put peanuts in our cokes. I remember my Dad teaching me and my siblings to do it and we still do it to this day every once in a while. Also chicken and waffles is one of the best food combos ever.
Why cant you eat the peanuts separately tho? Why they gotta sit in the drink? Next time I get a burger I'll make sure to let it sit in the coke maybe I'm missing something XD I cant judge tho cause im guilty of eating them mayo banana sandwiches, I felt that part when the guy was sitting there experiencing a whole new flavour with no way to describe it. I've eaten them a bunch and I cant even properly describe what heck I just swallowed.
Burger in a fried donut bun, fries dipped in a chocolate frosty, peanut butter and pickle sandwich, ketchup and rice.... I can think of so many more actually common pairings.
It actually hurt me when they weren't given the gloriousness that is Chicken and Waffles. It's so good, you guys!!! That salty/sweet combo is just * chef's kiss *
Ham and cheese sandwiches, bologna and cheese sandwiches, etc. with salad dressing, lettuce and chips like corn chips, barbecue chips or whatever kind of chips you like are good combinations.
I saw how it was made and it almost made be vomit. It’s such a disgusting food. I’ve never voluntarily eaten it. I can’t even watch that scene in Undercover Brother with the mayonnaise, and I get hungry watching Bones.
Future things to try... Fluffernutter (Peanut butter & Fluff). Fluff is a spreadable marshmallow spread. It's so good! Also... On a bagel, spread nutella on one side, and cream cheese on the other side topped with strawberry slices. Put the pieces together and enjoy! This combo works well on a crepe too!
