That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. At first it made sense, but the moment that MiG started shooting all bets should’ve been off. They caused more casualties by waiting for permission for that long.
@@Queue_Thrills A whole plan loaded with fuel and weapons is still a pretty huge thing to allow to fall in a populated area. Still think they should have taken the shot due to other reasons, but if all you care about are civilian casualties, they still made the right call.
@@katamariroller2837 Fair. But he strafed a bridge, parking lot, shot an entire screen down, and caused glass to fly into that office building and fall on others on the ground. I think at that point it cancels out if they had just shot him down. But that said all bets were off when they were fired upon anyway, let alone that the MiG pilot engaged across the armistice line.

If you decide to shoot the jet over political decisions, that is one thing, but to protect civilians´ lives and nothing else? The second the MIG fired the f-15s would have had authorization to return fire in self defense. The controller in this scene should be court martialed for incompetence.
LOL... when the controller tells the F-15s to not return fire after they have been fired at and hit, the only respond he is likely to get is "FUCK YOU!"
Just a few days ago, Our (Korean) F5 pilot crashed into the mountain. He could eject but he steered his fighter until crash just to avoid crash into civilians. please pray for him 🙏

@@A7XFan800 bandit is an identified enemy aircraft that is not engaging. Here's the two cases when bandit becomes hostile: 1. You're clear to engage by mission command; 2. You're being attacked, so you can engage in means of self-defense. In the movie, the NK MiG engaged the SK F-15s first, so it automatically became hostile. The SK F-15s had the right to engage, but the command consisted of brain dead people, and the pilots didn't have balls to tell them to shut up.

Миг- 29 уже старый самолет, круто посмотреть как СУ - 57 раскрошит 2 жалких F-15, в таком воздушном бою вообще ничего не понятно. Со стороны Мига, 2 ф-15 можно было сбить путем системы наведения нескольких целей, а потом бесчинствовать как угодно. С военной точки зрения, сцена наитупейшая. Как Я понял, пилот Мига просто злой идиот, который потратил 3 ракеты на 2 машины и рекламный банер, вместо того чтобы сбить 2 самолета, а по самолетам стрелял с пулемета. По маневренности Миг-29 превосходит ф-15, но ф-15 догнал бы его. Одно скажу: на украине, самолеты МИГ и СУ прекрасно себя показали, как старые так и новые. Даже современный PATRIOT ничего не смог противопоставить КИНЖАЛУ, а он пускается с Миг -31.

@@thiccchungo1041 you some kind of commie for Boeing? the F-15 was always a mediocre aircraft as it was designed to compete against an aircraft that hasn’t seen widespread service since the late 70s. Upgrades alone can’t make up for the fact that it is a literal brick with average performance at best.
I know. Like brass was so concerned about civilian casualties despite the hostile clearly not caring about his surroundings. Control should’ve given them clearance the second the hostile strafed that parking lot but decided to hold off on it, essentially taking the lives of 4 airmen in the process, and risked the lives of the rest of the combat team.
@@fallenkonrade5333 once the Mig opened fire, the F-15K would have automatically had permission to down the enemy fighter, overriding AT command, who would have been removed for incompetency.

The question is, how much is it for dramatic effect, how much is it a legitimate comment on the military procedures, and how much is jingoistic propaganda about military doctrine and procedures.

I have come to dislike the bombastic dogfight scenes, in favor of the grounded and tense ones. But the Ace Combat music makes this very enjoyable. Good choice of tracks!
Fantastic video , had me on the edge of my seat ! I served on the Korean DMZ back in 1972 and me and my buddies were strafed by a low flying MiG 21 . Scared the living hell out of us !
@@Stones309 This is certainly a plausible thing, US troops patrolled along the dmz back then and shootings were common, but a low flying mig strafing U.S troops would be, very significant
This has got to be the most idiotic dog fight I've ever seen, and it's amazing because of it! I mean even the Death scene is so over dramatic, heroic and cliche! LOL This is HILARIOUS and FUN at the same time. So unrealistic, and I don't care! The Ace Combat music is probably what makes this so hilarious - the on screen dog fight is about as stupidly unrealistic as an Ace Combat game but so over the top at the same. BTW that MiG Pilot is a total badass, villian and skill wise. Geeze. He owns the hell out've the SK Pilots and even Tokyo Drifts a sky scraper with his exhaust for maximum level Chad.
After watching that ground control single-handedly lose dozens of civilians, and a military pilot, I wouldn't be surprised if one of those South Korean pilots defected. That was the most incompetent ground controller I've ever seen, movie or not.

Absolute failure from Korean Airforce (in this video).. I think there would be more plans to neutralize the enemy, otherwise its very easy for aggressive enemy to enter in a city , wreck havoc and fly back safely. i need to watch the movie.
Гоняться за МИГом по городу- тупая идея. Могли бы просто полетать за городом- подождать пока у МИГа топливо закончится и ему придется вернуться на базу, тут-то его бы и взяли (с почти пустыми баками пируэты не покрутишь). F-15 - тяжелый истребитель, запас топлива и время полета больше, тем более двое из них взлетели только что (по тревоге) а МиГ-29- легкий (средний) с двумя двигателями так что у него по-любому раньше топливо закончилось бы. Фильм зрелищный но невероятно тупой.
если в данном фильме можно на истребителе МИГ-29 свободно за лететь в воздушное пространство прямо над городами с плотной застройкой и не быть сбитым ракетным пво, то значит что Южной Корее скоро --конец! кто снимает такую дичь и зачем? это же дети смотрят! они же верят в подобный бред! получается что можно послать эскадрилью в 100 штурмовиков и разнести горда и заводы вот так просто!? пво все равно не закрывает небо, летчики все равно не откроют огонь по тупым приказам командования! следовательно можно ВСЮ Южную Корею втоптать в каменный век используя тупо авиацию! сценаристам надо лечиться в психушке!

Was this based on the real life encounter? Because even though the MiG 29 is superior, it all depends on the pilot. And people in movies keep saying bogey...if you engage the term is bandit 😀 Ok now I know it's fiction...ejection seat error...yea you don't want to see that. I forget if there's a manual override.

They sure did in the real life encounter. The 15s have only been shot down by one thing...time. I don't think an F-15 has ever been shot down by enemy fire, but a couple times they broke apart by (what I think was) metal fatigue. 😔
I didn’t watch the movie and this probably didn’t happen but I’ll say this if I made my own scenario: USA and South Korea declare war on North Korea and the north looses badly cuz of tech disadvantages and poor economy.
