@@triumphofmagic Well Robin isn't exactly in a lot of the Batman movies that got popular overseas (e.g. The Dark Knight, Batman v. Superman) I mean, he does show up in one of The Dark Knight movies but he doesn't wear a suit, just gets his name out at the end which isn't impactful to remember to a non-DC-fan which is a bit sad tbh

1952 Superman did fly, though the show used a couple of very simple effects to simulate it. The 1966 'Batman' wasn't really a kids' show but it was a prime-time comedy aimed at families, so that description isn't too far off.

I was born in the late 90s and the Adam West Batman was my introduction to the character. I honestly thought that “POW!!” was Batman’s super power. Keep in mind I wasn’t even 5 yet. 😂

Bale was a great Wayne, but his Batman was... Meh. What really saved Bale was *Nolon* and the trilogies absolute all star casting. I liked Afflecks Batman for one brutal reason. *Affleck is a 6'4 220 pound Batman.* Ol Ben is a big dude and I feel he was robbed of a chance with all the garbage writing...

And soon I think we're getting a Robert Pattinson Batman. I don't watch a lot of movies and only know him from the Twilight movies and Harry Potter's Cedric Diggory unfortunately but I heard he has underappreciated acting skills so I think I'm going to wait for his performance. Who knows, might end up like Heath Ledger who was doubted at first because of his other movies before he became one of the most iconic Joker.

The 50s TV Superman did fly and bullets bounced off his chest so he was more powerful than the scenes in this video made him appear. Of course the special effects were only 50s TV quality but the show was loved by kids of the time and is still remembered fondly by them.

I still like the old Incredible Hulk though because it shows the human aspect of the story, the struggle David Banner faces to contain his demon. And that ending theme is just haunting.

You have to remember the older shows held truer to the comics. It was supposed to have all the comic words and everything. Kids could relate better. The kids were still reading comics then, like my kids read manga...manga is basically comic books but with not just super hero stories but all kinds

Batman 1966 was only aimed at kids because the TV people were against violence at the time. The comics could be pretty gruesome I heard though and had been around since 1940. Fun fact about the Superman comic. One comic predicted the atomic bomb was censored by the government because the government was working on the bomb at the time in 1945. Also the original Superman could not fly which is why in the old introduction they said, "could leap tall buildings in a single bound".

2:19 not these days, Batman is always dark, I think it was because Adam West's portrayal as Batman and the introduction of Robin that made Batman more lighter, but Batman itself is always dark, I mean, the main reason he became the caped crusader is his painful trauma when he was just a kid, seeing both of his parent murdered by a robber in front of his eyes, that's dark, and one of the darkest story is "A Death in the Family" story where Jason Todd aka Red Hood aka 2nd Robin in his teenage phase got killed by the Joker, and when Batman arrived at the scene, it was too late

As someone who grew up in that "then" era what these young women fail to understand is for us at the time .. these were the high technology shows .. there were only 3 channels we could watch on TV (CBS ABC and NBC) no such thing as cable or internet back then and color TV's had just become available. I watched JFKs funeral on TV in Black and White .. we had rotary phones that couldn't leave a room much less a house ... and kids then spent 99% of their time outdoors playing. It is actually quite amazing how much things have changed in 70 years with technology as well as culture.

Liked how they noticed that the original Superman was about helping ordinary people. In the first comics he protected folks against corrupt businessmen, violent gangsters and murderous landlords. Like a good neighbour. The moving planets and fighting aliens came later. The current TV series has him doing almost nothing, except to punch the big threats.

Superman fly outside the atmosphere becuz he can have much more exposure to sun's radiation, which amplifies his power with infinite level. In comics, he can even absorb the sun, I mean literally. I remember reading a comics where Superman absorbing the energy of every sun of 6 dimensions by flying thru them, and used that absorbed energy to knocked out the World Forger (The creator of worlds) with just one punch. That was sick!

This old man recalls Superman and Supergirl flying into deep space to intercept and destroy Mongul and his Warworld. They took on and defeated a Thanos-level villain and his entire planet-sized battle-station and military-industrial complex! Supergirl hauled off a couple of parsecs, worked up enough speed to punch right through defences and planet, then Supes went in the hole and took on Mongul himself, wiping the planet with him (sort of like the wish of all decent people wanting to confront the evil leader in his bunker). Then Superman had to cross dimensions to find where Supergirl was; he met her half-way, on her way back. IMHO, the peak of Kryptonian performance.
