What do you think is the food for the ordinary people in the Philippines?! In Korea, I can say one of the examples of it is Samgyupsal(Grilled pork belly) or Gukbap(Hot soup with rice).
As you know, there are some conditions that need to be met to be called as the food for ordinary people. First, it must be cheap. Second, but it still has to fulfill one's hunger.
And third, if it's possible, it should be nutritionally balanced. Thus, I think one of the Filipino dishes that meet these conditions can be Menudo.
It's actually my favorite Filipino dish these days and I feel satisfied every time I have menudo for my meal.
So today in the video, I'm going to introduce Menudo to my fellow Korean friends and find out how they will react to Menudo, especially Pork Menudo this time.
I'm pretty sure many of you are also big fans of menudo, so let's find out together how my friends will react to it! Tara!

It's because native people don't use gas stove. So no worry for gas bill. We all have the time cooking, while dancing(cleaning house) singing (washing clothes with our bare hands). After all that our food is tenderly cooked and serve hot. LOL..

I don't think they would like it as much even if it's spicy since Bicol Express is a bit greasy. Most Koreans don't like greasy food. And, BE tastes best when you let the oil come out.

The last time my household cooked menudo was last year about 6 months ago or more. Even though I'm a Filipino residing in the Philippines, we don't cook menudo often because there are a lot of ingredients needed. Munggo and Tinola are cheaper to cook. We only cook menudo when there's a celebration like birthdays. But it is indeed common because it can be found in local eateries of every neighborhood. 👌

Really? It's not that expensive to cook. Maybe P150-200 for two meals for 3 people which is pretty cheap. The issue for most people is probably the prep and cook time needed. For those you mentioned, they're the type you just chuck in a pot and they cook by themselves. Menudo needs attention. I usually need about 2 hours to cook it.

You can find menudo in almost all of the carinderia around... But yeah normal people dont usually cook menudo on a daily basis because its a bit pricy, the common foods for normal people are egg, sauted veggie, fried fish, munggo, saltws dried fish, canned goods and noodles... we at home, we just cook menudo every 15 or 30th of the month, you know what i mean 😂😂😂

The other guy got it. Because we live in a hot and humid country, food tends to spoil faster. So our food tends to be salty as salt is used to preserve food. A fine example is adobo. It's usually the preferred food for long travels or road trips as it will not spoil easily.

Though foreigner only knew Thai food, In Philippines i knew each province have slight difference preparation that make diverse, compara to thai food that evolves in sugar. i love filipino food the most underated food.

We used also cabagges in the food look like menudo..we call it mechado we put also baguio beans,caroots, potatoes,bell peppers,ground black pepper and tomatoe sauce..you should try it

There is another tomato-based Filipino dish that’s like Menudo but with Cabbage, Saging na Saba, carrots, potatoes and pechay as well. It’s called Pochero! It might be a little sweet because of the banana, but it really is good. 👌🏻

wow sarap.. try this recipe 😋 marinate pork overnight with. soy sauce ketchup shallots celery tomato - use real tomato ground pepper calamansi margarine sutaé garlic and marinated pork add half cup of water bring to boil season with salt and pepper fry carrots potatoes and bell pepper. then mix with pork simmer it until the sauce becomes paste. then wallaaaa.. let it rest for 20 minutes before you serve. 😋😋😋 hot dog is optional. 🤣🤣🤣

Menudo word is a Spanish word. It was influenced with Spanish colony of the Philippines."Menudo" means small, Small cutting of vegetable, pork and spices, cut with small portion that's why they called menudo. The same engredients with apritada which is cut with big portion of pork and vegetables and spices.

Menudo is my fave dish and I cook it whenever I’m craving for it. However I include chicken, green peas, beans (pork n beans), mushroom, and pineapple, sometimes hotdog, in my recipe. And no sausage. Haven’t failed me yet haha

Oppa Jinyong try lugaw with hard boiled egg along with tokwa't baboy and sawsawan!! your Korean friends will love it specially during the cold months :)
