Music Fed Indeed. Awesome synth strings, especially considering the low price. Small footprint so we can add this synth for extra sounds without breaking the bank or requiring a lot more space. Great synth. Korg will sell a TON of this little beast. Great job Daniel.
I purchased a Minilogue XD this week. I've genuinely watched over 100 showcase/demo videos. This is by far the best video on RU-vid showing off what this machine can do.
I've watched a few of the video tutorials/demo's on RU-vid covering the Minilogue XD, plenty of them are quite informative but this has to be one of the best IMO. This guy knows exactly how synthesis works and he put the synth through it's paces, showing how pretty much everything works, he lets the synth do the talking.
@@catvideos3249 Loopop and Daniel approach it from different ends. I need to watch and listen to both to get the full picture, and that's praising both of them - experts in their class.
@@catvideos3249loppoop or whatever still talks alot and gets details but my mind is like just play the thing and figure it out probably because of my ADHD
I swear Daniel FISHER is MY MAN for synthesizers. What a king to explain consistently and clearly what the synth is about, thats easy to understand, short, dense and exhaustive. Perfect. And about his demos........................... I don’t know how to say, he understands so well the synthesis, the pure pleasure of it, he knows so well what he’s doing... I swear I’m losing my jaw every time, and then I run order the beast. To me he’s the best to listen, and the best seller. So happy to have this man on RU-vid, this is really cool. If he reads me, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORK 🙏 I appreciate a lot. Big salut from France 🇫🇷 VINZ🙋♂️
7:00 the modulation on slow pad you are adding with stick is just mind blowing... I think it is really your demo that pushed me to order my unit earlier today... congrats for this great demo
12:19 Vangelis ; ) going crazy. Like this synth.Sound a lot warmer than the minilogue. I was expecting this over the Prologue. I can see this as a movie scoring synth. Good job Korg.
Hey SynthPimp. That's the re-voiced filter (from the monologue). It's amazing when you get to cherry pick from three highly popular synths. Thanks for watching!
@@sweetwater I wish the Monologue's filter sounded this liquidy. The resonance on the Monologue sounds thin and shrill compared to the xd. Maybe Korg will release a monologue xd, with two full VCOs, separate noise, joystick, multi-mode filter, two EGs, effects, and more patch storage...
This is the only equipment demo video I’ve ever listened to for purely musical enjoyment. Looking to see if Daniel has a synth recording. Highly musical use of this synth
Bought one (in Germany) and came to see about that thing. I am more of a guitarist/singer and can’t wait to get to dive into this beautiful electronic clouds. Daniel Fisher, wow, man I could listen to you for hours...thank you very much for this live gig from you.
This thing is going to be a huge hit. I’ve been through a lot of gear recently so I’m going to hold off for a few months, but will definitely grab one of these this summer. This is the proper sequel to the MicroKorg that everyone will be using for the next decade.
For someone like me..A guitar player, who likes playing around with synth sounds, without turning on the computer, this looks perfect! Always Great Demos! I know I will learn stuff, when I watch Daniel.
I have this synth for over a yer now and I still watch videos sometimes to remind myself what I can use. I love demos which not only use preprogrammed sequences but also show musical abilities and synth knowledge. Great content and of course great synth. It can do a lot more than one could think.
On the 100% reals.. I buy from sweetwater a lot, so thank you for the demos. but to anyone who loves boutique gear but also shops smart, I have this to say about the minilogue series: For some reason it was the easiest synth to "jam" on.. it just morphs to where you want to go , always sounding good, without awkward moments.. I was very surprised at that.
Hi LeMTails. Your assessment is 100% spot on. Not only does it morph musically when you tweak gently, it also sounds contiguous even when you radically change parameters. Notice, throughout the video, how aggressively I was changing effect types, MultiEngine parameters, and modulation routings. The Minilogue XD allowed me to be fearless during the demo.
@@sweetwater Wow.. yes. fearless is the word because I can get stuck on some synths, not wanting to touch it anymore for fear of loosing something or getting lost. I dont know what it is with the minilogue but you can go from musical riffing and take into sound fx space jamming and then back again! no lie!
OMG! Daniel made a phenomenal job once again!!! These demos are bone chillingly good! 13:39 - so atmospheric and powerful . Iam definitely buying the Minilogue XD Thank you Sweetwater for the great presentation! Ohhh aand keep making demos with Daniel he's a genius synth mastermind!!! 🎹💯
@@sweetwater Do you think the 16 voices from the Prologue make the difference? Does it worth getting one? I'm between getting this or a Prologue 16. I want to create unbelievable sounds for industrial rock. I can't find many demos that shows what's the difference between 4, 8 and 16 voices.
The salesman said "nope....all we have are the Minilogue XD". What a bait n switch😡. SOOOO glad he did😜😂🙏, best board I've bought in a long time! Yup...glad they were out of the Minilogue at my music store. It was that beautiful silver finish that stood out among the other black or candy red (no names mentioned) boards and initially caught my eye (not to mention knobs and pushy/pully thingies). So I reviewed the M-XD here on Sweetwater...SUHHH-WEEEEET!
Exceptional demo Daniel. Sounds almost as good as the Prologue and it has a sequencer. The joystick reminds me of the Korg Sigma from back in the days. Obviously the Prologue has more voices, is bi-timbral, has full size keys and has the compressor, but this is a great portable cut down version for those who don't want to have to actually play the keys if that is not your forte. Definitely one I am considering this year
Not to mention 3 effects at once, the joystick which can be sequenced, the sequencer, and all the crazy territory that comes with the motion sequencer. I’m imagining sequencing that joystick and the voice modes changing while adding effects overtime and filter cutoff would lead to some crazy results.
Dr. Jack Kevorkian a lot of things, it has third digital noise/fm/your own wave oscillator, digital effects, better sequencer, microtuning, etc but the thing it does not have is suboscillator, original minilogue has it
The depth of tones from this little package is incredible. Before i even listen to a demo of a synth with digi fx, i said to myself "oh no hear we go again crap digital effects " . You know what im (bleep !), astonished. Korg keep bringing us these audio beauties !!. Veeeery tasty !!, i think i smell a 3 oscillator monologue xd somewhere down the line would be a very nice follow option from Korg. Great video from Sweetwater again always worth the watch from Daniel. 👍👍
Loving mine! A few bugs/quirks that I hope are fixable in the future: 1. ARP latch doesn't work with motion sequencer running (The arp runs while motion/play running but no latch) 2. MOTION/SMOOTH EDIT doesn't work when knob movements input with STEP MODE - doesn't smooth. 3. More SHIFT+KNOB functions - especially SHIFT+TEMPO=GATE. 4. BPM Delay SYNC 5. * ARP latch fixed with the latest update
Thank you SW! - wow! Guitarist here that loves to expand my horizons with your generous vids. Mr. Fisher, you have a gift! I now want this Korg! Sadly, I know I don't have your talent and expertise. So, for now, I'll enjoy listening to this demo... could for hours. Cheers!
Hi Chris. Don't discount the power of inspiration. When you sit at a synth like this, with a good arpeggiator and sequencer, you too will simply learn to create what you like to hear. Thanks for watching!
Bravo Daniel! Very inspiring and a lot of fun. Watching musician who is well-versed in the operation of An analog synth. Clients, he look good… Look healthy.
Awesome job as always Daniel! GAD DAMN IT!!! NOW I NEED A MINILOGUE XD!!! Thanks a lot man... 😂 What an absolutely incredible sound and variety of noises you can make with this little beast! I need one! Now!!! 😂
Hi SoupOS. Our product page currently has info, right under the price, for a 24-month payment plan (just in case you don't want to wait). Thanks for watching!
Impressive! Korg added a 3rd Ocs and put in a joystick to replace the slider. 500 patch memory. What a great idea. The best part of this synth is you don't have to get a second mortgage on your house to get one! Big sound, small price.
This looks awesome. I really wish korg would do desktop module versions of this synth line. I actually do kind of love these size keys though. Just enough to feel like your actually playing a keyboard. If korg made a 4 or 5 octave midi controller in this scale I would buy it immediately.
Hi Jonathan. While I clearly had a blast playing the Minilogue XD, I would still have no problem trading it for either Prologue. More polyphony is more polyphony! Thanks for watching! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_RY1gvTAw_Q.html
This one really has some good potential compared to the first version. Not that you couldn't get great things out of it, but had to work harder. The XD I could see myself enjoy using.
I just checked Sweetwater's site, they are still taking pre-orders. Is this synth shipping from Korg yet? Impressive little synth. It can wear a lot of hats without breaking the bank or taking up too much space. It call fill the musical needs of a bedroom studio musician, a bass player that wants synth bass in addition to his existing rig, and a number of different roles for KB players that want additional synths without spending a fortune. This will be a BIG SELLER!
I still dig the Minilogue and think because of its price point, The Desinger Takayushi is already like a legend, and the German red dot precision award. Realistically the most for your money is and will be with the minilogue, wanna go digital? download Korgs Ms20 plug in, or get the ps3300 from full bucket, ( surprisingly acurate and well built). Not only that I was able to find a guy who makes Korg plug ins, for 5$ I got a Minilogue plug, that once your sixteen step sequence is recorded- you can acess the other 30-40 parameters, instead of just the four lane automation pot. I can create just about any sound from it. from a water droplet to phatty phat moogy bass, its very metalic in sound, and i like that. too many people trying to achieve the same sound anyways. I believe firmly the MINILOGUE will be the classic. ( kind of already is)
Some people talking about how they don't like the presets I don't mind them at all and the sound is so lush I've had for 5 days and have only been through about 20 of them
Hi Steve. Yup. You'll notice that we didn't have to cut away much. The camera angles changed to keep it interesting, but it was soooo easy to just twiddle away continuously for a minute or two on each sound and get something that I really liked. Thanks for watching!
Returning again after four years with an appreciation comment for the playing Daniel. Awesome man. The range and capabilities of this are still outstanding today. Still don’t have one hahah! The desktop model has been added to the wish list. What do you think in comparison to Kroger’s (it autocorrected that but I’m leaving it hahah) latest efforts?
Great demo showing a very wide range of sounds. Korg make some great instruments and this one sounds very interesting. As ever sterling work form Mr F.
The best demo of Minilogue xd I’ve seen so far, really interesting sonically. I’m pretty sure now that I want this synth. Great demonstration skills, you know how to sell this stuff! ;D
