you all prolly dont care at all but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Dustin Charles Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great sound ! Just went ahead and got my self a Korg Prologue 16 - will be getting these presets as well - your videos on this synth were indeed a motivator - did not know the power and quality this synth has till now, combining this with my Nord A1 will be a treat !
Congrats! It’s an amazing synth! And thank you in advance for supporting me with getting the patches :) Pro-Tip: go check out the free user stuff from HammondEggs I think is the name, great free user fx and user waves
I just bought my Prologue today. Extremely excited about it. Once it comes in I will be purchasing this patch collection. Brilliant sounds & perfect for my group's project.
You just sold me a Prologue. My wallet thanks you! 😅 I had a Minilogue once, but i didn't like it that much, so when the Prologue came out i didn't get it because i thought it would sound the same. But after seeing this video it sounds exactly like what i want! So i gave it a shot and bought one. Your patches will be the first sounds i'll be getting from it when it arrives. I also have your Summit patches and they are great too! 😎
haha you made a good decision! I still have my Prologue despite selling all my other gear I bought around the same time for more expensive stuff. Thank you in advance for when you get the patches, and stick around my channel for more synth music and vids :)
Currently just a Matriarch. But I’m buying a Moog One and a Buchla Music Easel soon, and actually plan on buying this one again, too. I had it when it first came out, but it had that tuning issue at the time and no word from Korg on when or how they were planning on dealing with it. I had also wanted the DSI Rev 2 at the time, so I decided to return the Korg and get the DSI. I’ve since sold them both but am planning on getting them both again. I always thought I’d get this one again, and your vid definitely helps me with that decision. :)
@@DerMensch1 wow that’s an epic set up! If you are looking at synths in that price range, may I suggest the 3rd Wave? I’ve done 3 videos on it I like it so much.
@@MilesAwayOfficialWell, I’ve looked into it, and wasn’t a huge fan at the time. But per your suggestion, I’ll look into your demo. I’m just an old school analog guy-grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. My first synth was a Jupiter 8. I’ve owned two now, actually. I sold them to get other stuff, and I confess I do think they’re over-hyped. But still, that’s kind of the draw to these style synths, ya know. It’s just what I got used to. And I really hate computers and software. Ha. I tried it all and still use ProTools and all that, but I’m moving away from it all soon. No more clickety clackity click clack! Buying a console and a tape machine and all that. Selling my house and going all analog! But thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look again. I confess, the one wavetable synth I have (software) was among the cooler soft synths I have.
Ok. I watched one. I appreciate your passion for it, but I just can’t get into it. No offense, dude. :) I will just say that right when I had my first Jupiter, my stepdad had a DX7 back when it first came out, and man…talk about disparate sounds. I dunno. I just learned to hate anything that even remotely resembles the sound of FM or “digitized” synthesis. I know that wavetable synthesis isn’t the same thing as FM, but that shrill digital sound that you get out of those types of synthesis just isn’t my thing. Modern digital sounds. Like shimmer reverb (a sound that exemplifies that, to me) is just my worst nightmare. Ha. I’m bad. I know. Lately, I’ve even been considering a Jupiter 4 too, because that sound is just…so decidedly rich. And I know new stuff can imitate it or approximate it, but I’m convinced they’re not the same. There’s just something about that old analog stuff. Like I just bought a Shin Ei fuzz wah pedal and it is the most out-of-control beautiful monster I’ve ever used. It seriously feels dangerous. But…ya know-I know it’s all just taste.
I’m having some trouble uploading these on my prologue. The firmware is up to date and the first user oscillator is waves. But whenever I open the preset pack in the sound library, and it doesn’t show up under any of the programs. I was wondering If you had any tips or could point me in the directions of instructions? Thanks!
Hey, instructions manual is included in the file! if you are still having issues email supmilesaway@gmail.com and we can hopefully give you some more info on how you install with the Librarian
Thanks! Glad you enjoy! I make custom presets for all my synths and work hard to bring out the best. You can buy these in the description for only $30 :)
@@VIC-20_Synthwave Sick! Love to hear that. Side note: highly recommend you hold onto that Prologue, I've owned and sold 10+ synths and the Prologue is one of my 3 that I will 100% never sell. I think it will be a cult classic once discontinued.
@@MilesAwayOfficial Agreed, I did sell my Prophet 6 to buy it because I just wasn't getting the sounds I wanted out of that Seq P6. The Logue sounds a lot more like something John Carpenter would use.
@@MilesAwayOfficial Hi, I'm a talent scout at Sessions and love what you're doing. Would love to get you in front of our global audience of music fans. Are you interested? Our team sent you an email for more details. I have also sent you a DM. Let me know if you got it.
Hi thanks for your videos, great channel. I have a grandmother and I eventually want a prophet 6 but I also think I need a “jack of all trades” type of synth to fill the space that the other two don’t fill. Do you think this synth could do that well? Compared to the hydrasynth? I know the Rev2 is nice, but just a little out of my budget and maybe redundant if I get a prophet 6 later on. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! This will definitely compliment those well, it will sound way different than both. I personally prefer the sound of the Prologue to the Rev2, so if you like the sound and don't mind the limited modulation you can't do wrong!
Great sounds! May I ask you what is your take on the Prologue now as you got OB-6, P-6 and OB-X8? Does it still bring anything to the table or is it obsolete for you now? I just wonder if it stands on its own next to such mammoths (which obviously cost more by a huge margin). Thank you in advance!
I still have it and use it often. It really does hold its own well and the snarly filter + multi engine makes it sound very unique. I don't plan on selling it , even if its not getting as much play time now as it used to, it totally holds up.
Will these work on the Korg NTS-1 as delay and reverb effects? I am using it as an external effects processor for my Moog setup for when I am creating before I record.
Could you let me know if you're still using this synth? Is it still on your do not sell list? Have you found anything you like more? I love analog synths, and this one is both. Have you come across anything you like more now and if this will always stay in your studio?
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thank you so much for the quick reply! I was almost positive they would not work with the nts-1, but I thought I should double check. You do still use the Prologue 16? That's awesome! I definitely need to check it out. Your video was amazing. Any other recommendations? I've strictly used Moog synths so far, but I am looking to broaden my soundscape. Thanks, again.
This is a great one for scoring! It has quite a gritty, dystopian tone. For other recommendations, from cheapest to most expensive: Modal Argon8 is a good budget synth for composing but you will need a good reverb with it, Novation Summit with its great reverb and distortion is great for scoring, but my top choice if budget doesn't matter is the Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave. It's what I use 99% of the time for composing gigs. I've got videos on all of these synths!
@@MilesAwayOfficial That's true. It's a bit of a risk buying privately, though. I bought a used System 8, last year from my local music store. There was a short warranty attached to the purchase, and I had confidence in the store that if anything went wrong with the synth they would always do their best to help me out. I could have bought a demonstration model Prologue from the same store 12 months earlier, for a thousand pounds (the 16) I was unaware, then, it was a bout to be discontinued, so I was holding out for a brand new one.

Did you use an Editor with your Prologue by chance? Love this synth, but know that Korg doesn’t make their own. Any help is appreciated. And awesome work as always!
This is PRICELESS! Are this for purchase or they already come stock with prologue? Because I entered your page and it says they are for OB6. Thank you very much
Thanks for the nice words! The main page is just featuring my OB6 patches right now. Here’s the Prologue link :) thanks for supporting! shop.milesawayofficial.com/products/100-korg-prologue-custom-patches-miles-away
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thank you! I will get this for sure, do you have any tutorials on how to insert the custom patches inside the prologue with your mac/pc?
I know you made these patches, but do you do custom patches by request, eg there are several sounds id like to get remade for the Prologue 8 but I'm no sound designer 😂
Sorry, unfortunately no current plans for more patches for the Prologue coming - got a full schedule of synths I am working on patch banks for . Might revisit later next year
I don't know what it is but analog synths always sound so much better when played live. Sampling doesn't record it in perfect detail. The best musical experiences i have had had been with analog synths. The Minilogue blew my mind for the first time i heard it and hearing the Prologue almost made me cry :)
Hello Do you know what bass synth and what synth sound was used for the lead in this? I love those two sounds. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X4yDzAMOGqI.html
@Rhizosphere I'd love to get my hands on one! For now I'm finishing my OB6, Summit and Sub 37 patches but as long as I can get a synth I'll make a patch bank. :)
Thanks for watching! Enjoy the patches if you picked em up :) Not sure what you mean, there are several different patches in that section? Please clarify!
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thanks for what'u made for us! 🙏 I asked you about number of Your Synth voices, 8 or 16? Sorry for my crazy English. I live in Estonia, my Native language is Russian. But I trying to learn English as I could😞😏
Very nice patches mate. How do you like the Prologue? I've read somewhere that Korg have foolishly made it impossible to bypass a DA stage on the main outputs thus condemning their otherwise analogue signal to a AD/DA conversion stage effectively rendering it somewhat digital. A weird decision. But I've never heard one in person and RU-vid is not the best indicator I've learned. How does it sound in person? Does it have that analogue liveliness like say a P6 or an OB-6 does? Cheers.
It's amazing sounding - trust me. I've got the OB6, Matriarch, Sub 37 and Summit and the Prologue absolutely holds it's own! The sound has so much character, it's like if the 1980s was a dystopian era, it's got this analog vibe mixed with this coldness to the sound that is so unique. Thanks for watching! Tons more synth content on my channel, including full comparisons of Prologue vs Summit and Prologue vs Matriarch!
@@MilesAwayOfficial Okay that's encouraging. Bit apprehensive about buying an analogue synth that can't quite output analogue but it isn't a deal breaker so long as it sounds good. I'll think on it some more. Again though, great patches. Keep up the good work mate.
@@Screaming-Trees I've never heard of that, curious to hear your source there! But something to note, anytime you record into a DAW through an audio interface you are converting to digital. So unless you are going direct from an amp or headphone it always gets summed to digital.
@@MilesAwayOfficial It was here: www.gearslutz.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-and-electronic-music-production/1312128-prophet-6-vs-korg-prologue-16-a-4.html I don't pay much attention to GS except for the High End section (there are some pros that lurk in there) but in this case it seems right. Yeah I hear ya. The thing is I spent $15k on AD/DA and I'd rather just convert with my own kit. I seriously doubt Korg can match Burl, Mytek and Crane Song for conversion. That said the Prologue always sounded pretty nice to me hence the questions above. I can't really test it out in person at the moment so third person accounts is as good as it gets. Thanks for the quick reply by the way. Much appreciated :).
@@Screaming-Trees hey! so looks like indeed it does automatically convert regardless of if the FX are enabled or not, but the converters are great. the drop off is about 24khz. So inaudible. Not sure if that matters to you but for me I don't mind!
