You are exactly correct- great feel, hammer weighted keys, midi, and truthfully the sounds on board are pretty good. It is a "tank" in weight compared to the ones now! Another use too, Korg has great sounds you can purchase from their ios app store, put on your ipad or phone, then use the Korg "Key" to convert lightning, midi, etc.. Now you just added updated sounds inexpensively plus you can combine with the on board sounds.
I'm about to get one of these in for repair / cleaning, and they're older than stated - originating from second half of the nineties. From all accounts they are hefty but definitely worthwhile in terms of playability and sounds. All the older 88 weighted-key keyboards were heavy... Kurzweil K2600XS anyone??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely amazing still after all these years though! Cleaning of the Korg major components shouldn't be a major issue as these 88 keybeds are usually quite roomy. Electronics-wise it might be a different kettle of fish, as capacitors tend to deteriorate, and over time lose their value to a point where they become unusable... But I've fixed those problems before (multiple synths from the Roland XP series), so we'll see 😎👍
My korg sg pro x working properly but no sound lisning on tones ic please help me its board ic tda 1305t which is sound ic for tones can i remove and install new one ic to generate sound thanks reply soon
I'm thinking early to mid 2000's. Very heavy duty weighted key bed. Also has MIDI connections so you can update or add sounds if wanted. I would play this one on stage, very sturdy. Very good deal!
I have this keyboard and love using it as a midi-controller for other sound sources. It is one of the best feeling keyboards I have played on. The inclusion of after touch and the assignable mod sliders means this becomes a fantastic controller for synths as well. It is heavy, but that is because you get true weighted keys.
I have one of these that was used on the Stones Bridges to Babylon tour, in 1998. Played by Chuck Leavell on their "B" stage. I acquired it from the Stones Crew Chief when I was the IT. Director at the company that ships them world wide. It's a great unit at $499, and is highly recommended for anyone looking for a full sized midi keyboard on a budget. I can provide the Korg user manual, should anyone need it....
