Got two of the KORG volcas today, they keys is still on back order :( However, plugged them in and this is what came out after a few minutes of tweaking without reading any manuals. Seriously? I think they sound Awesome and are so easy to play around with.
What you see in the video is playing live, except for the MS20 mini in the background doing the simple triggered 16th beat two note melody. Got some envelope on the G3 with delays and reverb.. and the jomox is connected on the Volca Bass only with some longer and more shaky ddl fx.
The KORG Monotron and monotribes does some random noises on this track,(also responsible for the noisiness in general) the volcas are pretty silent.

Michael, i cannot respond to your comment for some reason, please check your privacy settings. I do however hope you see this. :) Reverb/echo is the zoom G3 and the t-resonator you see.. the jomox is used as reverb iirc. Mixer is mx400 and xenyx1204, peace!

Superb stuff my good sir... Sorry to enquire about your setup but it intrigues me. So you have your Korg Volcas/Tribe running into the mx400 mixer then into the line mixer? or does it go from the korgs into the mx400 then the zoom then mixer? do you have the resonator effect off a particular korg before it goes into the mx400? thanks!

Thanks a lot! :) there are some mods out there for MIDI out, i myself have not explored that path. A search on youtube should be able to help out as i know many have done a lot of various modifications on their boxes. cheers!

Thanks!! Basically what you see in the video is playing live, except for the ms-20 mini which is in the background.. its just doing a very simple triggered 16th beat two note melody.

Wow! You were good with the Volca's from day one! No manual reading too, I am not as smart as you are. I choose the Electribe2 instead of the Volca's. But maybe that was a mistake, the synth engine of the Electribe is not very good sounding. I am not going to sell it, but use it as a 16 track sequencer with 16 MIDI output opportunities. I am going to try the Volca Bass first to see this can take the place of the Electribe's bass.

Hi .BUrg I have a Zoom G3 ... what use do you give ... what machine do you connect it to, they are effects for guitar but I see you using it with sisntetizadores, I just bought it, it has not arrived yet A big greeting bro :) as always very good and elegant electronic music

Hi! Nice vids! Is it possible to sync the volcas with different tempo, but start the sequence together? So like the beats is in 160 and the bass is in 80 so they meet in every second sequence?

Hi, thanks! The bass cannot do this iirc, but the keys can play and half speed, or quarter speed so it meets up every second or fourth sequence, eg 1/1, 1/2, and 1/4 tempo selection. Cheers!

thanks ! cant recall doing anything special with the montron delay other to get rid of the noise, so not sure tbh. Volca keys is one of my favourites, really nice.. maybe a one trick pony but man that trick is epic :) cheers

oh, this video is so old... hrm, maybe i had a short spring reverb in the G3 on the entire volca beats. This to give it a little bit of room. Sorry for not remembering. Could be that it is being paired with the drums in the KORG monotron

What exactly are the monotrons doing? Are you using the delay there or is it just the G3? What are the boxes behind (and beside) the monotrons?

Playing some melodies on the monotrons, and using the delay in the monotron delay.. all three of them are daisy chained in this setup. What you see behind is the monotribe, zoom G3, jomox t-resonator, boss MT-2 (not used in this clip) and a line mixer, mx400.. cheers!

got the MS-20, the Tribe and the Volca Bass, Monotron and MTron Duo, awaiting the Beats, but its sold out atm..I see no use of Midi whatsoever, how is all of this synced?

ollilaboratories thanks for the swift reply :) so you just sync them one after the other, beats to bass to tribe? since i dont have the volca beats yet, i think the tribe would be the 1st in my chain, then bass, then MS-20 mini;;; I'll give it a whirl ;D Nice songs you make with the gear at hand btw, and as Manuel Clément mentioned, very nice camera framing and great sound quality. cheers & keep up the good work!
