Absolutely beautiful. Have the Wavestation SR as well with new battery and now more inspiration. These pictures remind me of when I lived out in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. You could find abandoned old mines off the beaten path from the touristy typical places that I can fully understand your inspiration for this piece. Lovely!
How is it different from the EX? Just got an EX for $250 plus shipping and I'm excited to have it ship in soon, just trying to learn as much as I can leading up to that moment. Also, do you know of any cases that fit it? I can't find any specifically made for it anymore.
Very nice demo of the Wavestation, especially since it's purely the module, without any additional work and without overdubbing etc. Thanks for sharing.
Very good piece of music. Now I'm wishing I hadn't sold my Wavestation EX. Still an awesome instrument in my book and a piece like this demonstrates why very precisely. Excellent track
Nice Work, Man...! (Love the song). I've had my Wavestation SR for a few years now and I absolutely love the possibilities that it brings to the table. After listening to your song here - and learning that you did the entire piece in multitimbral mode/16 channels - I gained a deeper insight into 'just how badass it is' - lol..... THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION...!
Hi I love this track it sounds great and right up my street in terms of the type of music in which I like, I have just bought the Wavestation too but not sure about the "SR" bit ?? I haven't actually got it yet as its in delivery mode right now but I should have it in a couple of days, this synth is truly awesome and I cannot wait to start playing it, I LOVE this track you have made and the capabilities of this synth are amazing of course you would hope so because the price it originally came out at which in US dollars was somewhere around $2195. I have just subscribed to your channel and given you a a huge thumbs up too :-) I see that I am one of only 47 people who have subscribed ?? why so low ?? I'm hoping that there are more videos of your work on the Korg Wavestation or similar synthesizers ?? Keep up the great work Glen :-)
Wonderful sounds enjoyed this track, I love my Wavestation too would never get rid of it. Looks like you images were shot in the Northwest US? Perfect with the music!
Very beautiful music and video! Enjoyed it much. I have the Korg WaveStation emulator for iPad with Line 6 MIDI keyboard. Where was this filmed? Looks like New England...
Very nice! I have the SR and A/D - you have inspired me to get busy with those two synths. What program did you use to record? 16 channels all at the same time meaning you shared effects across all 16 channels? Please elaborate more on the recording and setup. Thank you.
Cubase. I recorded this about 10 years ago, I don't remember much from my MIDI-only days. Haven't turned it on in 8-9 years actually. Shared effects from one of the patches, I think that's how the WS works - one of the channels has master effects that affect the whole mix. Reverb and delay, sounds like.
KC, why did you buy both models?? Im so intrigued, I had an AD which I am trying to refind after sillily selling it a few years back....whats the magic of the SR that outdoes ol AD?
crx nineseveneight I am impressed- a tutorial would be so valuable. I am guessing you are very good at programming this machine as well as writing music.
TheSynthZone Haha, on the contrary, I absolutely suck at programming, as in, I don't understand a thing about it. I can adjust attack/decay on the ADSR but the rest of it is a mystery to me. Actually I don't think I changed a thing on the WS, maybe/possibly the amount of effect send on each part, from what I remember the interface is an absolute nightmare. What I did was install a collection of free user patches, and then simply added/played each part until, well, the song was done. All the credits should go to people who designed those patches, I just used them. The original mix sounded pretty bad, but because I got the levels reasonably well, I was able to EQ it to something half-decent sounding 6 years later. It's nice to see it's still inspiring for people these days.
Well, playing presets is not all that uncommon, really. Michael jackson and tangerine Dream both used the same sample on a Fairlight system without so much as a single tweak! Then there was a nice sample CD which a prominent e-musician in America used in a big movie sound track without any alterations, (no names, he is really litigious). As far as ADSR control, you can make some fairly awesome changes in a sound using just that. I assume you at least used some keyboard controllers such as pitch bend, vibrato or? =) Good job as far as i am concerned!
hi could you share the sounds that you used for each part.. would love to make a mix of this song its so damn good.. I did try and found some but cant seem to find the drums, if you could msg me I would be so greatful.. thanks
