Someone who has grown up and become disillusioned by the holidays due to family tragedy. The magic has been drained out of the experience, but they celebrate anyway, even though they know that what they once had is gone and it feels strange, insane even, to keep up with the holidays despite everything. That's the story I get from this, and I like it!
