stpftw1 Except he's not dressed as Jesus. Sorry i'm a bit late, but he is dressed like any other finn let's say 100-1000 years ago. Those kind of white robe like clothes were common in Finnic lands for a long time. *Edit* i think they have been worn even longer, and until atleast 1950's.
The fact that I can't understand shit and it literally sounds for me like incoherent speech of some drunkard makes it more Finnish than everything I ever seen
I've seen some strange things in my time, but a bunch of people moshing to a polka tune is pretty high on my list. They seem to be having such tremendous fun!
I love this kind of music (folk, celtic...) and I think that these guys are among the best ones who combine it with metal. It sound so different, so like in harmony, and an unknown language makes you just wanna listen: you know what the song means because you've searched it on the internet or something, but that way you don't only focus on the lyrics, and that makes you enjoy it even more. And those instruments combine so perfectly with metal that... Well, they're good as hell, that's it
+Víctor González oh thank you, i didn't know that. i love that language, i think it sounds beautiful and knowing it is a dialect is so helpful, thanks! 😄
I met Jonne in Joensuu Finland @ club Kerubi before a Korpiklaani show, I travelled from Australia to see them & I was not disappointed. Karjala Takaisin!
@@make9469 ne kuuntelee varmaan mielummin "western" metallia, ei yllätys että monet metalli bändit on kymmeniä vuosia sitten jo tehny kiertueita japanissa.

It's just something about hardcore goths at a metal concert going from moshing to grabbing a stranger and dancing the polka and waving Finnish flags that is fun as hell to watch

Here because ever since I went to their concert a few days ago i've been playing their music on repeat (I was standing in the VIP section in the front and during the violin solo of man with a plan Tuomas winked at me so my heart is still fluttering from that)
I don't remember what's the part was in original version, something gibberish also, but it resembles dancing or having an extatic moment in a party. ievan polkka means polkka for eeva
We know santa delivers presents in december but what does he do the rest of the year? HE FCKING PLAYS THE GUITAR IN KORPIKLAANI! How else do you think he can get all the nice and naughty lists from all around the world hmm ;) This is one of the best bands out there and I have seen them 7times!
This song is older han Internet. Check: Lumberjack band - Ievan Polkka That's from the 50's. The first lyrics were published in the 30's. Before that it was instrumental - or there my have been original lyrics which were lost in the run of history. It's from the 19th or maybe from the 18th century.
I agree...there is no other culture in Europe like the Finns except for the Estonians. You can see why Professor Tolkien loved their language and culture so much that he used Suomi as the basis for Elvish...and really, Legolas is supposed to be more like these dudes than like Orlando Bloom!
