And here I am, a hooman who got lowkey mad at Korra when the person who got wronged didn't even blame her which fanned my irritation even more but then it went from something to non-existent when they go out with each other
Wish their relationship had a bit more build up romantically, but I understand why the creators felt the need to be super subtle. Still, these two had chemistry from S1 in my opinion
It was mostly because nickelodeon didn't want it. The creators probably would have given it more build up if they were allowed. But im still happy with what we got!
@@majencia2003 nuh uh, you're right, being friends does not make it chemistry, they didn't really have a lot of one on one scenes in S1 and they did not really become close friends until s3, what I mean by chemistry is the dynamic between them, imo it was there from the first season. They really did not start to have real screentime together until s3, but for me, I found they had nice chemistry from the start, it has nothing to do with the fact that they were technically friends in s1, Korra and Mako were friends too, but I always felt like they had no chemistry whatsoever not to mention no compatibility as a couple. And for Korra and Asami I'm not talking romantic chemistry, just chemistry between two characters onscreen.
Most people at the end of the show: What? When did this happen? All of us who caught the lowkey flirting scenes and the moments they had in seasons 3 and 4: *eyes emoji*
i watched lok as a kid and never thought they'd end up together lol. but then again i never finished it to see their relationship develop anyways?? definitely gotta rewatch lol
I'll always love how Asami is so smart yet so dork most of the time. Like when she offered a girl who literally grew up in southern watertribe and can actually/naturally know how to warm herself a hot tea because she thought the avatar might be cold. Oh, Asami.
But the only really she was successful is because she turned in her father and took over his company, she didn't go out of her way to create the company herself she just took it from a man
Even though I only saw LOK last year, I'm so glad the fandom is still alive. And I believe one of the main reasons is because of Korrasami. Honestly, I can't get enough of them.
0-0 u watched whole show? I saw this and thought: "oh, it's Korra and Asami's friendship! i should watch!" only to find Korra and Asami dating. im still on season 2...
@@olaf3918 Actually, I saw somewhere that it's a relation to Japanese culture. You wear the face of the person you loved in your past life. At least, I think it's Japanese . . .
The most shocking part in LOK was when the ATLA yt channel uploaded a video not just related to Korrasami, but ABOUT Korrasami, and didn't disable the comments as usual
One thing is for sure. Korra and Asami have much more healthy, stable, supporting and loving relationship than Korra and Mako or Asami and Mako ever did.
I like how these two got together, given what it says about relationships. Throughout most of the series, mako has been either deciding what he thinks is better for korra or not being fully supportive when she needed him to be. However Asami has always supported korra, so I think it’s really beautiful that they become a couple.
This is funny to see now since when LOK was airing, Nickelodeon was so against this pairing. They only changed their minds when right after the finale, the response about the two of them was quite positive.
literally i was watching the last episode and when they walked up to the spirt portal i was on the edge of my seat, i was always rooting for them to get together when they didn't kiss literally CRIED I'm bi so they were the people i looked up 2 and i was so upset seeing them not kiss :(
@@melyrodrivilla6459 i can call my female friend my girlfriend as it’s casual and enough for people to understand, as saying I have a female friend is too formal.
Remember, every lgtb couple we see and know in shows nowadays is thanks to Korra and Asami. Without them we wouldn't have She-Ra, Steven Universe or Adventure Time
In the beginning, where Korra and Asami were becoming friends, I jokingly said to myself "aw they're girlfriends" because I thought they were cute together AND THEY ENDED UP ACTUALLY BEING GIRLFRIENDS, I WAS SO SURPRISED AND HAPPY
I’ve actually read the writers went ahead and made it a little vague assuming they had to, and when presented to Nick, they said they would’ve been fine with more.
@@zachharrison8436 yeah my best friend told me that they wanted to do it from the start. But was afraid Nick would say no & turns out they didn’t care too much.
FUN FACT: Back when The Legend of Korra was only supposed to be a miniseries, Asami was actually supposed to be a villain! To be precise, she was supposed to be an Equalist spy, who was only dating Mako, in order to get close enough to capture Korra (ironic, I know XD)! However, as Mike and Bryan were writing, they realized that Asami's chemistry with everyone would have been wasted, so she was rewritten to be completely innocent and ignorant of her father's actions, so she could be part of the new Team Avatar, and eventually, Korra's true love. 😁
KorraSami is the whole stock photos progression of that guy who’s with his girlfriend and looks back at that other girl and then the two girls end up together
Korra was so naive in season 1,lol. But I kinda get why she did that kiss. She was very sheltered from the real world, seems to have no dating experience whatsoever as a 16 year old, she gets advice from a 9 year old and pema so it leads up to this.
I love how this channel actually interacts with it’s fans (Unlike most official RU-vid channels) it makes it a delight to comment/watch. I meant interact by hearting comments, replying to comments, reading comments, etc :)
@@Largentfan80 There was nothing more to add for that show LOK on the other hand, they didn't allow the creators to show the end of Korra and Asami's development
Korrasami relationship was supportive and consistent than all the other Relation/Friendships in the show. Even they were in a love triangle Korra and Asami never had a toxic relationship towards each other that was usually happens when two women pitted one another.
And to think that a lot of people say that the love triangle was a bad part of the show when it was one of the best parts, it was a love triangle done well. So well it literally ended up being a triangle because Korra and Asami got together too
Funny you should mention a love triangle because what Korra, Mako and Asami had might be one of the few ACTUAL love triangles in media since, if you really think about it, what we consider to be a love triangle, two people of one gender liking someone of the opposite gender or two people of different genders liking the same person, should really be considered a love V. What happened in Korra is a true love triangle since at some point, everybody involved loved each other!
That's what I really respected about Asami. They could have had some petty fight. But they didn't. They both respect each other and knew that the issue really was with Mako's insincerity.
Agreed. I think that if people didn't like the show much, it's only because it's fairly different from the first series. People just can't expect that after 70 years in the show have passed things will stay the same. I have watched both shows recently and while I love ATLA, it is TLoK the one I want more stories of and I want to know more of. Just my opinion.
I like the show, but I dislike Korra and her character. Maybe it's my personal preference, but she yelled at everyone, didn't open up about her emotions normally, neglected her spiritual side nearly complete and wants empathy for that. Idk... not what I expected after Aang
@@David-qg3oc Tbh, I loved her development. She goes from hot headed and yelling at people when they criticize her to finding ways to fix herself and the problems people face.
i literally went years without watching this show because of how many people said it was bad but when i finally watched it, i loved it as much as atla. 😭
I do understand that this series isn’t perfect and it has its flaws, but either way I believe it’s still one of the best tv series! of course it’s not like ATLA, because it’s about Korra and the new world that has a lot of new problems that she needs to deal with, which aang didn’t have too. In the end, I believe Korea’s development was great! The change in her was (for me) very much clear and I was so proud of her! She went from a naive, hotheaded and strong person, to a wiser, selfless, more calmer person, who dealt with her PTSD and many other problems, that aang didn’t go through. Korrasamis relationship wasn’t much well developed because of studio problems, but it made at least sense and I’m happy that they didn’t take a huge step with it, but pointed out a spark between them, which we could see throughout the last two seasons! korrasami walked, só that other lgbtq+ couples could run!
@@lilcapalot6280 Korra probably thought to herself, "Mako why you doing this now suddenly? Oh well it's been a stressful night so I'll wait the next day to tell him and just let him enjoy it for right now I suppose."
When I saw them fighting a lot and had less romantic scenes together and them solving their problems together, I knew their relationship wouldn’t last long.
They already had uploaded Korrasami vídeos before, they also uploaded Sokka+Suki AND ZUTARA relationship timeline before Kataang ever had anything LOL Korrasami didn't need it to be clear how this channel support healthy couples~ Kataang could be canon, but even Bryke admitted they were a forced couple Korrasami, Sukka and Zutara shippers: We've won ♥️💙💚💛💙💚
@@melyrodrivilla6459 They uploaded Kataang videos before too 😭?? Also my comment literally didn’t mention Zutara at all so I don’t know what mental gymnastics you guys took to arrive at the conclusion that me mentioning that Kataang and Korrasami nation won today by having the videos uploaded back to back somehow meant that I was putting down Zutara??? I like Zutara too so both of your comments are falling on deaf ears??? 🤨
@@lila6739 why could you have said "We've won" then? Won why? Being canon? If you like more than those 2, great, but those words are funny considering the channel only uploaded A video about Kataang family (their lok legacy, not actually the ship itself) and that video was followed by a lot of videos with Zuko, katara or Zutara thumbnails. The only endgame from ATLA they uploaded A video about their development/scenes was Sukka, then they uploaded A zutara vídeo specifically for zutara week (and it was the only-non-canon ship which received that honor, at least until now) and they also had 2 videos completely Korrasami before this. Those kataANGERs became crazy in the comments about it XD So Yeah, kataangers haven't "won" anything Korrasami >>>>>>>>>>> kataang btw
There we go. So much for the old "tHis ReLaTiOnShIp hAd No BuiLd Up!!!" Korrasami 4ever. Big thanks to the team for having had the courage to make it happen. It was a small step, but one that meant so much to so many people. You guys helped open doors that I and countless others will always be grateful for. Thank you.
Mako and Korra's relationship was doomed to fail. I mean it was nice, but they were both still immature and had a lot of things to discover about themselves. Same with Asami and Mako. While when Korra and Asami began to develop feelings for each other, they already know who they are completely. Its like they were already a complete person and that made their relationship healthier. I'm new to this girl love and it took me off guard with I found out but as a bisexual man, I kinda rolled with it and when I read the comics, they are indeed a great couple. Too bad it wasnt shown in the series.
ugh... They are actually really different... I prefer Korra and Asami's relationship but as characters I just love Kyoshi more than everyone in all series. But still... Their characters and relationships are completly different
I’m honestly so glad their relationship happened, I thought there was going to be a thing with Makorra and in the end they would live “happily ever after” but I never thought they would really work together but I was so sure that was how it was going to end. I’m honestly so happy Korra & Asami got together since they are great for each other and clearly love each other very much. With Makora it was just a bit of a mess.
Yes me too i thought they was gonna stick with makorra at first i was getting tight because it was similar to Kataang but then we got the unexpected with korrasami they’re so cuteeee like i love them too. I hope they animate the comics doe
As much as I ship them, Korra and Asami's relationship had so little development in screen, thag it seemed really forced at the end. Very disappointing.
It was because there was an lgbt movement happening at the same time, it wasn’t just avatar that was doing it but many others children’s cartoon and series were doing it aswell.
@@jihosz not talking about the end itself, but rather the way it happened for that ending to be a thing. You can easily compare her whole drama with Mako. How it seemed more natural since it took a lot of scenes to make their relationship develop. Unfortunately, it doesn't even compare on how things went for Asami and Korra. They had very little to show on screen how their relationship was growing. It was severely rushed. And because of that, not wonder many people who watched it was VERY confused on how they were acting towards the end. But fortunately, we got the comics, where we can explore their relationship better, without the weird rush.
@@scaroianTwo seasons of development don't make it rushed. It's more subtle than just yelling about how they supposedly love each other like in makorra. Also, creators didn't like the ending of Book 1, and immediately after they got green light for Book 2, they started writing makorra breakup, because they get a chance to do something truly groundbreaking.
I honestly think all the avatars are Bi or Pansexual. That they all are capable of universal love, one of the many things I think Raava looks for. You don't see it Ang or Roku because they found their love early on. You do see it with Korra and Kyoshi. Who's lives are more intimately discussed.
Mako: People in the comments keep making the same comment about me telling you about how my ex girlfriends are dating each other Zuko: That’s rough buddy
By far the best channel I could ever see. Through this channel people who set out to watch this cartoon can see even more and see the charms of this drawing. You have my support
A lot of folks think that it is forced but I don't think it was too forced. I saw it as "I like you. Let's see where this goes." instead of "I love you. Let's be together forever." I see Korra x Asami are slowly getting the hang of things and exploring their feelings and seeing where it goes, at the end of the series.
I just can't wait for the next Avatar.. even though it means that Korra passes I could picture the next Avatar to be as equally as intelligent and as attractive as Asami knowing that the next Avatar would be shaped into likeness of the person they love the most on their next lifetime.. 💖
Korra and Mako were toxic together. Korra and Asami were friends with feelings for one another. They let their friendship mature with respect and trust. Makorra is essentially the childish crush trope. While Korrasami is what a mature relationship looks like.
It's funny because Makorra showed EVERY fail Kataang and Maiko had, it's not a coincidence how Bryke made Makorra break up… AND then admitted their Kataang was a forced cliche™ (in the same Tumblr post where they confirmed Korrasami) Korrasami is everything Kataang (and Maiko) never was 💙💚
@@skelitonking117 You know the show spans 3.5 years over the course of its 4 seasons right? The example you gave only happens in season 1. Korra and Mako break up in season 2 and Korra doesn’t date anyone until the comics post-season 4.
I’m still upset that they couldn’t give these two more build up but I can’t blame the creators for that but the comics really helped to flesh out their feelings for each other. Really wish we could have had another season.
Simple truth I love there love and it really hurts that the series ended and the comic book doesn't give them a big happy ending... Please bring back Korra..... BRING BACK KORRA! Please??
