This is the final in the netball competition at the 2016 Koru Games, a year 7 & 8 South Island sports tournament. The match is played between Hillview Christian School and Ashburton Intermediate.
(I’m still in training to get my C badge so correct me if I’m wrong but) Some of the calls were late, bad or just didn’t even happen, they didn’t call advantage (at least what I heard) and some were just plain bad like calling no goal when it was an advantage goal.
Gotta agree. No understanding of the ebb and flow of a game. For example second half from ref on the far side. Whistle to start then pass/whistle, pass/whistle, pass/whistle, then pass/pass/step. What a joke... Obstruction called when the distance is clearly correct, especially when called at the same latitude as the camera. Contact called when player is clearly closer to the ball's flight than the intended receiver. I'm not sure I could play this game although I coach and ref it. I understand with up and coming refs that they are learning and would not even think to challenge their calls. However with senior refs as these two presumably are, I would want to argue and would not be as submissive to clearly wrong calls. I have a hard job 'biting my tongue' at present. Consistency is no excuse for incompetence...
i play netball in singapore and i hv to say this is quite some bs empiring. The blue eam were being called out for smthing that is allowed and the no goal is so dumb it shld hv been counted
The blue/black team passed the ball back way too many times in the shooting circles the ball was turned over so many times...but apart from the it was a really good game and the green GA....woah
I'm 12 and I joined the netball team at the start of Yr 8, I'm still new to this and not the best, but one day I wanna be like those girls, I love netball, I may have a competition on Tuesday against another school (if they don't cancel) and I'm so nervous, I don't wanna let my team down, now I've seen a real match I'm kinda scared I'll mess up 😪
Ugh I hate the whistle!!! When ever I play and they blow the whistle I get distracted lol and one day the coach blowed it when I was about to shoot then the ball fell and the GK took it ughhh >:(
I think this is 2 quarters because in netball tournament they are play 2 quarters because if they do 4 quarters that takes more time. They should make the finals only 4 quarters. That all I know because I only play in intermidiate
generally notice the red/blue GS with the glasses often passes out from the ring to a wing/center without a clear plan. at 6:16 GS decides not to take the shot and to pass out, but the whole idea is to use that as an opportunity to re-position, whether that be a drive, split, lead or fake. as we can see the GS keeps her position the same, allowing the GK to push infront and block the pass. i understand the idea was to split and get closer to the ring, but at this age group (as incredible as both teams are) i wouldnt expect the players to have the strength or knowledge to pass it back to the GS quick enough, before the GK pushes infront. as a GA player myself, ive learnt that its pointless to pass out unless you have a plan of movement.
11:47, after GA passed to C on the top of the ring, GS should make a straight drive to C and split to receive the pass, while GS takes the baseline drive as a second option for the C to pass to incase GS is being covered.
