This was a lesson I learned a long time ago: if your hand needs to topdeck a land in order for you to exist in the game, it's not worth keeping.

That depends heavily on your curve. If it's likely that you'll get something playable OR a land based on your curve, then more hands are keepable. That Jodah deck has a average mv of 3.0x, so maybe keep based solely on that, but there's a lot of different color pips here so I agree it probably was a bad keep.

Korvold is a must kill commander. Just few turns on the board and the draws and value he grants ramp un insanely

And here we have a prime example of how important single-target removal is. I cannot believe Korvold was ignored like that. It's actually absurd no one had any single-target removal.

I think with priority passing properly at 10:37, your mana drain should've gone on the stack first. Unless you were *specifically* waiting for a counter you didn't know Max had, to happen. You would've had to pass priority, with the chance at that spell resolving, had Max counter it, just for you to react to the new round of priority. If you did pass priority *just* for that, feels bad to be Max.

Consider engagement farmed: Korvold is such a powerful draw engine that i think it’s outclassed Prossh. Plus they can both threaten commander damage extremely quickly

Little tip for Maximus, the Kappa Cannoneer triggers itself when it enters! It’s not obvious that it does, but there you go.

8:00 A little pedantic, but worthwhile remembering that Kappa Cannoneer triggers itself on ETB. Can definitely matter with Swiftfoot Boots and co.!

I often look at the opening hands and think "there's no way the ending is as predictable as these hands would suggest, there's definitely going to be a twist or something somewhere". Unfortunately I just keep fooling myself.

It is _far_ better to keep a hand with "too many" lands, and almost never worth keeping one with too few. Even if you have a hand with 5-7 lands, you're much more likely to draw non-lands to play as you go (plus you always have your commander to play, if nothing else), rather than holding a grip of dead cards waiting for land draws and just sitting there doing nothing.

Fair question. Golgari charm’s regenerate doesn’t target so it would get around shroud effects, plus boots gives hexproof which prevents targeting from opponents only.

Man, Machine God's Effigy is a weird card. I was thinking how the Korvold the artifact should have been destroyed with the Elspeth hability only for it being just an artifact, not an artifact creature. I also think attacking with the recasted Etherium Sculptor was weird.

On turn 7, shouldn't Korvold have swung for lethal on Micah? Korvold was supposed to be a 10/10 on turn 6 but Pat didn't tick the die up, which means Korvold would have been a 12/12 swinging into Micah with 10 commander damage. Didn't matter in the end though, I suppose

i knew the korvold deck would win the second i saw the thumbnail. playing korvold is like playing commander on easy mode and he was the only cedh commander at the table. the result of this game is not surprising at all.

Just because it's a popular commander in cEDH, it doesn't mean it can't be built for a more casual pod. This particular Korvold deck is landfall-based and the list is rather tame. Unfortunately, when people let Korvold stick on the board for too long, being overwhelmed by card advantage is kind of inevitable.

In my humble opinion Korvold is the second best Jund-Dragon-Commander, but not aftrer Prossh, but after Vaevictis Asmadi the Dire. At least in points of fun. As for real power, i think you might be right that Prossh can be build in a stronger way than Korvold, but only i f you go full combo (cedh style). In casual commander Korvold is way stronger than Prossh in my opinion. There you have your engagement ;-)
