I dicked around with mine for awhile, bending them into perfect shape, now I keep forgetting they are on and I have pulled my dac/amp off my desk more times than I care to count when I stand up. Christ they sound great.

I miss good and cheap reviews. Expensive shit is cool to see and hear about but I'd rather have 5 pairs of headphones with different sound signatures than one pair of $1000+ headphones. Just my opinion.

As a boy with an afro, these are so good because regular headphones mash your afro and earbuds, well they are earbuds..

I gifted a pair normal KSC-75's in my company's secret santa in the hopes of gifting better sound to someone, because everyone there seems completely happy with dollar store earphones and id like to ruin that.

I have tried numerous headphones ranging from (God only knows the pricing) Super cheap to unbelievably expensive and I can absolutely tell you these headphones have the very best and most realistic mid-range of any headphone on the planet. They have ruined all other headphones for me and are my bench mark for real to life sound. KSC-75's are indeed the end game. Wonderful review as always Z. I run them on my RebelAmp and I am at bliss. there is a guy on reddit who sent me a pair with detachable mmcx for $50 shipped. Not sure if he wants to do a million orders but totally worth the $50.

I would happily pay double the price for KSC75 with MMCX connectors. They break way too soon just cause of their wires, even though the drivers will last much much longer. I even re-cabled one my 2 pairs of these( 1 normal& modded, 1 massdrop), using a heavier gauge cable actually made them sound better....smoother mids, and tighter bass. These are brilliant little cans.

I purchased a set of the non-drop versions. They don't look like much, but they're stupidly good sounding for the cost. Used the same setup that drives my Senn HD700s, and...wow. Really nothing negative to find.

I've known about the KSC75 since about 3 years ago. I bought one pair, I used them, they broke, and then I just bought another pair again. I'm not even mad, because they're that good, so I just keep buying them whenever they break. Now that Massdrop has them, and they come with microphone... EVEN BETTER!!

These make my wallet hurt from the past trauma of buying much more expensive headphones before experiencing the legendary KSC75. I’ve gotten rid of other, MUCH more expensive open backs in favor of these. Buy them. Buy them and run away. Run far away - so the other brands can’t find you!

Zeos I did it, I bought them. And you were 100% right. These are absolutely unbelievable for the price, these are ridiculous. I also own an x2hr and I still prefer the x2hr, but these koss ksc75’s are so good for the price it’s mind blowing. Once again, zeos is right. Thanks for this recommendation, I really appreciate it. I’d also love if you could tell me how these stack up vs the 58x because eventually I’ll be purchasing a pair of those. Thanks again zeos for being awesome.

Just grabbed a pair of ksc75 today and I'm sold. Running them on my LG G7 and they make full use of the on board audio, it's phenomenal. Only thing they need is detachable cables, something like mmcx... Then you could even hook em up via bluetooth

I'm glad you are pushing for these. They are easily one of the best steals in audio. I don't think they are SHP9500 replacements, they don't reach that level, but they are REALLY good and unique. Everyone buy them and complain about the cable. They are easily worth quadruple their price for sound quality.

The sound stage is big and great vocals.

I love the ksc75, I got my first pair in 2005, they sound great. I've gone through literally *4* *PAIRS* though, and 2 pair of porta pros. I stopped buying them because they all suffer from one fatal flaw, the SHITTY cables fail after a short time. I always get a channel short, and the wires to the headphone are so thin they're nearly impossible to repair. Solder doesn't want to stick to them. Koss offers (still?) a lifetime warranty, but it's not worth the trouble. I realize they have to keep these things light, but they need to make a more robust cable. I'm bummed to hear that the massdrop cable is even worse, didn't think it could get any worse. While these are my all time favorite inexpensive headphones, I'd reccomend noobs to save just a few extra dollars and get the samson sr850 or superlux hd668, or hd681 when they're on sale for 25-30 bucks shipped.

I've had three pairs KPH30i and given just as many as gifts (one of them broke). I've three pairs of KPH40 (one of those broke too). Never bought the KSC75 (X or otherwise) and threw one in the cart when I was on drop buying the KPH40x as a back-up to my remaining pair of those. These things are stupid great. 5 years later, Zeos was correct. The KPH40 is still my fav of the family that I've tried (most) by a good margin, but these things are awesome and just became my new workout/walking around pair of cans. Fuggin great.

I agree about the cables and had the same idea for mmxc connections. I've been using the KSC75 since middle school , and the amount of times the wire has gotten caught in the spokes of the wheels on my wheelchair and torn off is just stupid. I've even messaged their business and customer service email because I have no clue where else to message them about this. Its probably an effort in futility though, but oh well.

you can print that mmcx plastic connector.... is not rocket science!! you can find some stl files out there...

I find these sound better with a headband. Less sibilant because the pads cover and conform better with the ear with the band. Also more comfortable.

I never understood why they market these as "sport headphones" since they die quite fast if you sweat with these on :)

they can also work in the porta-pro headband. and the porta-pro headphone part can work on these clips as well, the wire on the porta-pro is also significantly better

I just got a pair in the mail today and he is not wrong... especially through a headphone amp... this is kinda strange.

I had a pair. Plus- I liked the sparkly sound. For the kind of music I mostly listen to, these sound great. Minus- cheaply made, they don't last. If you get these then I recommend you mod them with better audio cable, this means whipping out your soldering iron.

Listening to this on my Massdrop Koss KSC75s.... They do sound amazingly clear, not a lot of bass. Perfect for running and still being able to hear the world around you.

I've been buying the KSC75's for the better part of a decade and always pick-up a pair or 2 every few years when they go on sale to replace old ones. Recently I'd been looking at a way to turn them into a headset to use with my PS4, but it looks like this is the perfect solution. Checked Massdrop and had 16 hours left on the drop. I couldn't have come across this review at a more perfect time. Thanks Z!

Just got contacted by Koss and they said no detachable cable version is coming out, but they are coming out with a Bluetooth KSC75. Do with that what you will. If it sounds just as good with good battery life, I'm all for it. On another note, I need some well wishes or prayers or good vibes or energy sent my way.. Hell, if anyone has a lucky rabbits foot I can use for a while, I'll even take that. My life has been a shit show these last 6 years and its just gotten a lot more rough and I'm not sure I'm coming out the other side for the better. I'm hoping that I will, though.

Bought these for $20 and am running an EQ on my laptop to alter the bass, mids, and highs. It’s so damn good!

For reasons I don't understand, these things sound absolutely amazing when plugged into an iPhone with a headphone jack. No idea why, but they sound a lot better plugged into my iPhone than they do on my O2+ODAC

Found my old pair that I had for years and the foam pads literally crumbled into a black powdery stuff when I pick them up. Now I just need the replacement foam. They are really good!

I fucking listened to you. I love the sound. I love the open feeling.Just amazing sound for $15 -20. They hit WELL ABOVE their price range. I was using Hyper X Clouds/Takstar Pro 80s for sound and comfort. Those costed me Around $80 - 100 when I got them. These ugly little things replaced them. How can these be better? Koss shows that price does NOT equal value.

the issue with these on comfort is the thickness of the clip around the ear using a dremel to shave down the thickness of silicone , losing all the bulk , makes a huge difference ear-gonomically update : remove stock silicone on ear clips replace with silicone tubing 1/8" ID x 3/16 OD phenomenal results

I have purchased a few items based on your recommendations and with Amplifiers your advise has been perfect. Headphones are another thing entirely and for the most part it's just a sound signiture preference that we absolutely don't seem to share . But I had a set of Optimus Pro 25s that I owned in the 90s that I was looking to own again. I found out these have the same Titanium Driver's that were in the Pro 25s and although I wish they still made the Pro 25s the closest they have is the Ktxpro1s and they look a bit cheap so I thought what the hell I'll give the KSC 25s a shot ... And you are not wrong about these. The clarity and sparkle in the highs are so good that if you are using these then switch to even my higher end Planar Headphones they sound dull in comparison. It's quite amazing what Koss can do for so little money... I'l still have my Koss Electrostatic Headphones that I bought in the early 70s and for that era they are still decent. But I think I will always own a pair of these. They are at least as good as you said .

I don't remember if he mentioned peace eq. But if you combine these with a proper peace config. It's a killer. Also the mobile version of true-fi is pretty good, too.

I modded these and attached mmcx connectors to them. And got a brainwavz cable to use them wired and a fiio wireless cable. Best wireless headphones as sound quality for the price by far.

Good Idea Z! I never thought about MMCX connectors on this little headphone. I have owned many pairs of these and the story is always the same...broken cable after 3-6 months of moderate use... usually at the strain relief near the driver housing, or near the plug. I ended up re-cabling a pair with cheap, but thicker than stock, speaker wire(might have been 20 gauge, I forget) and the difference was fucking astonishing!! The bass become so much more tight and controlled, but not lesser in quantity. The highs stayed the same, roughly, although the headphone was more refined overall. Also, when these KSC75's get pushed somewhat hard, they make a strange "warbly" distortion sound which is even more audible when they're in your hands, as music plays....that was mostly eliminated by the new cable. I have the massdrop ones right now and am afraid to use them cause that cable is....just.....so.....fucking.....delicate. I also have a regular pair that is broken...I may just try soldering mmcx connectors on them, lol.

Recently bought these for $25 on amazon and I actually have to kick my HD600 aside for desktop use. They're comfortable and audibly mind blowing for the cost. Hell, I even mowed my lawn with these earlier today and no complaints :)

Had the original ones in early 2000s trust and believe still to this day for price and sound best headphones made.

Just got my pair in. Threw on some Daniel Deluxe... made me audibly laugh at how much low end punch there is and how clear they are. Insane for this price. Cheers dude \m/

Use to have Koss over ear phones like that when I was a kid. They sounded good as well. They have their stuff down. Honestly though for $15 I can't complain about the build quality.

Even before I've seen this video, I've loved these. I recommend them to everyone. I have my nice Senns at home, sure, but I use these when I'm traveling and stuff and I don't feel like I'm missing out. I take my laptop out and plug these in and play some Axiom Verge and I hear the music so clearly and so crisply. Must owns for anybody who cares about good audio. My only complaint is that I can't really use them for my daily commute. I primarily listen to podcasts when I'm commuting on the bus, and these leak a bit too much, and isolation is poor, and I sometimes can't hear what people are saying so I resort to IEMs instead. However, in a home or hotel setting? For $15??? I'd honestly be happy to use these as my daily drivers.

When you amp these they really come alive. You can mod the grills to get more highs and low end.

The cable is way better on the Massdrop version and I'm speaking from experience. The original ones eventually harden and your wire is eventually going to break on one side. I treat my headphones like my newborn babies and I've had three of the original ones over a span of 7+ years and they all eventually had cables that harden and one driver eventually stops working. The Massdrop cable stays soft.

I know audio technica made wooden ones that looked like these (ath-ew9) and koss has potential. Problem is that even tho koss made the first stereo headphone and all, their products are... bad... in terms of build. I agree with u zeos. Mmcx is a must but also better housing and overall build. Assuming mostly gaming use, how much difference would I find in these and the 668B (with replacement pads)? I don't go for "competitive" with no bass, but I'd like immersion. Don't care that it's harder to attach a mic to the KSC75 since I don't do multiplayer. I'll probably order the KSC75 regardless, but I'm really wondering if the 668B is worth it on top of that.

So, Zeos.. By the end of this month, how is your assessment to the switch in your release schedule? Did it bring better statistics to your channel's viewership? I miss the old ways when we had 2 videos per week. It gives us time to watch all of your content, and absorb the plethora of reviewed products. Moreover, it would obviously give you more time to research those products you intend on reviewing.

Wanna know a fun thing to do with these? Put them on your ears and then put the X2HRs on over the top of them (it's surprisingly still comfy, especially with the suede Dekoni pads on the H2HRs) then run a splitter to your headphone jack and listen to them together.

Bought the ksc75 instead of any 'mainstream' to replace my old headphone. It's exactly as you said. Fucking great despite it's price and build quality. Now it's my 'endgame' for listening, and gaming :) Also modded them with Yaxi Pads and mmcx connector. Now just waiting for the headband.

I really want to buy some Koss stuff but none of the ones you recommend except the PortaPros are available where I live. I could maybe get them on amazon but shipping is going to be like 60$ + 25% import fees on the total amount. :/
