We all share that same human condition that makes us want to keep something that makes us feel good for ourselves. It makes us feel special. Would it still feel like Kota was speaking directly to me if *everyone* was listening to him? Probably not, but it would be selfish of me to say I didn't want too many people to discover his music considering what it's done for me.
