Honestly, I think she got better development in this game than previous games. In other games, she didn't even have a personality. She was just sort of "Kitana's helper" in previous games. This one, we at least to get see what her personality is like outside of just being Kitana's assistant.

Doesn't look like she's playable at all, Kameo or otherwise, in Mortal Kombat 1. Hopefully she gets in via Kombat Pack 2. Jade is too much of a fan favorite to just be dropped like this.

Sorry, but I am afraid I must disagree. Kotal doesn't deserve Jade because he committed genocide on an entire race, tried to kill Cassie Cage and her team in Earthrealm, and he broke the Reiko Accords. As for Jade, I liked her better as an independent person.

The problem with Jade before MK11 was that all she was is Kitana's bodyguard and friend

@@roycepierson9297 Jade's entire story is more than being Bodyguard. To Kitana, Jade was the sister she never had. Jade was tasked to protect Kitana with her life; and with it she served that role admirably. Jade and Kitana's relationship was the initial stir of jealousy in Mileena who wanted nothing more than a familial bond with Kitana. (Hence various endings of which Kitana and Mileena make up). It was Jade's actions that managed to originally save Kitana and several enslaved people under Onaga's will. The romance plot was rushed and needless. Having forgotten there's a time merger where Kotal is a brutal Khan much like Shao Khan. Jade should've seen the man Kotal had become and dumped his ass, knowing that he'd side with Shinnok and betray Earthrealm rather than stand united.

I’d like to point out that independence and romance aren’t indefinitely separate. You can be an independent person and still be capable of romantic feelings, and the notion that relationships somehow strip you of independence is harmful.
