@@VerticalHysteria What inside? It's a single sheet front fender. He cut out the affected area and welded to the clean steal. The inside is now the back side of the patch he welded in. Are you trying to say if he dropped a whole strut , for internal room , cut a fender out , made a steel patch and welded it in yet he wouldn't have thrown primer and possibly some colour on the inside? He would have had to grind down the stone guard or paint on the inside or it would have melted, set on fire and contaminated the weld. Theirs no way he would've gone to this much effort and not spent the legitimate 30 seconds flicking the inside with the primer and paint when he did the rest of the fender lol.

Habe auch, mitunter im Karosseriebau gelernt. Und es ist nach wie vor eine, wenn nicht die schönste Arbeit im Kfz - Bereich. Eben nicht nur stupides Teile aus und einbauen. Ich habe auch schon andere Videos von dir gesehen (Levella). Machst wirklich nen super Job. Nur stellt sich bei solchen Arbeiten wie hier, halt auch immer die Frage, des Kosten - Nutzenaufwands. Leider werden solche Arbeiten heutzutage, in vielen Bereichen immer unwirtschaftlicher, wenn man die Arbeitszeit gegen ein Neuteil gegenrechnet, kommt dieses unterm Strich oftmals günstiger. Im Oldtimer- Bereich sieht es dann schon wieder anders aus. Aber nichtsdestotrotz, wer dieses Handwerk richtig beherrscht (so wie du), der ist ein wahrer Künstler 👍.
Die Geschichte ist ganz einfach, gibt man so etwas in Auftrag, ist es einfach nicht wirtschaftlich bei einem günstigen Schraubteil so zu reparieren, macht man die Arbeit selbst wo der Faktor Zeit keine Rolle spielt kann man das so machen.
It would be cheaper, less time consuming, and a better fix, just replacing the fender. The only advantage to this is in the paint, keeping putty and primer to a small area, and blending color within the fender area.
Bei Teile die es aktuell noch einige neu Gibt aktueller Preis pro Kotflügel 120€ lackiert eher quatsch aber wenn man ein Älteres Fahrzeug hat wo es kaum noch Teile gibt Mega geil, top das einige noch sowas machen :)
Die Schallschluckgummis = sollte man den VW Vorständen alle zu Essen geben. Diese Reparatur haben wir schon öfter erledigt, mit sauberer Sprühdosen Lackierung, pro Seite 200 - 230 € > Das mit dem Gebrauchten? Der ist zu 90% der gleiche Müll und Nachbauflügel, Passform, Lackierkosten, Umbau > meist über 10 Jahre alt > zu teuer😢
He finished it and ground the welds and looks even like new, most guys just weld some blobs and put a bucket of body filler on the heat wrapped panels calling their self "professionals".
I have the same though not as extensive rust issue with my 2009 VW Rabbit (aka Golf) on both front fenders. Looks like a design flaw where road dirt and salt collects. Good repair job with pride in his work where most now just take the easy route.
I would have used spray foam using plastic bag to prevent sticking. Let harden then shave excess down. Apply body filler smooth out sand and paint. Why because, by the looks of it, the car is not worth the extra expense..
Waste of time, money, and labor. Just replace and repaint the fender. Or go to the junkyard and find one with matching paint. Unbolt, dismount old. Mount, rebolt new. Simple.
.. das geht flotter wenn man ein grob vorgearbeitetes blech (ohne klebeband !) Anpunktet & AM FAHRZEUG mit zange ,hammer & feingefühl fertig bearbeitet ..
кстати в России очень сильно верили в немецкое и японское качество, слишком сильно наверное 😂это был целый культ....в итоге масса людей меня не переубедила и купил kia😂
Replacing that fender with one from the same color froma junkyard would have been much easyer Thing to do We do stuff like this for Classics restorations where u cant find new parts anymore But newer models ? Just buy the Part New or Used 🤷🏼
