It starts off really slow. The "Endar Spire" of KotOR 2 is an hour long ghost town where you are in a constant state of paranoia. The you get to the "Taris" level where you are kept on a station until you escape through a repetitive questline. THEN it finally gets fun.
Truley My favorite game of all time. ill never forget that early winter morning, around 3:30 in the am , when i found out who i was, I literally yelled, "Noway!", lol such a great game. And now were getting "The Old Republic", im normally console player, but when this was announced, I litterally bought my new gaming pc just to play it. everything top of the line so i can play it maxed out in all its glory. I cant wait man.
This game brings back old memories. I was probably 4 years old, I would always be stuck and wouldn't know what to do, but I still played it no matter what.
I really miss this game after watching the trailer. It's a shame that RPGs aren't like this anymore. It seems as though most RPG games now try to appeal to the FPS crowd as well. The combat system in KOTOR I was truly one of my favorites.
TheHurricane401789 I could not agree more. It is simply the best game ever for so many reasons...I still can't believe they haven't out done it after so long...
I can only hope that someday they will see the light and create a fusion of Mass Effect"s gameplay, graphics, and customization and the incredible story of the Kotor series. They have the tech, i don't know what they're waiting for.
Has anyone else noticed that for the gameplay clips in this trailer someone just stuck a video camera to a screen instead of rendering it within the game engine or with a screen recorder (not sure if they had those then but you know what I mean). If you look closely you can see it. It's still on my top 5 games of all time list regardless of the trailer editor's shortcuts.
I just bought it on steam, cuz ppl told me that the normal CD version wouldnt be compatible with vista and i works perfectly now. And well, ive only played it for an hour or so but i can already tell that its far better than KotOR II (yea, i bought the second part first and i liked it so much that now, 5 years later i decided to play the prequel). Its just a fantastic game and you have to keep in mind that it was 2003 when it came out! Just fuckin bloody amazing!
Im playing this game right now.. im a HUGE Star Wars Fan, not only movie's or games, but lego's for collectible's and more..... i can't beleived i missed this game but i need advice.. is Kotor II also worth playing?
A lot of people say that. Kotor 1 has one of the best spoilers in video game history for the fans it was made for. I didn't see anything special with the story or characters in kotor 2, but my only experience with it is watching 2 let's plays so I might like it more if I played it myself. I also hear that kotor 2 is unfinished, buggy, and hard to find.
and Jedi Knight Academy lol i hope they bring another jedi knight game because with todays graphics, physics, ideas and gameplay it could be pretty epic.
yeah, you would have to play the game to really understand, both games are amazing though, and if you didnt know that kotor 2 was missing stuff you wouldnt know, i started player it around 5 years ago, and i didnt know it was missing stuff till about a month ago lol
i beat the game about 8 times, conversation can be very tricky and it all depends on whether you are light, dark or neutral, also the first thing you say can effect you conversation choices.
That's right you pay the 100 credit fee that Ithorian charges. The amount of people that play this game still. That Ithorian should be loaded by now. Great game and will be my number 1. I don't need any games when i have kotor in by disc tray.
So... I played this on the xbox, made the stupid decision to sell it, and want to play it again. Should I get it for PC to try it out on my new computer, or buy an xbox copy?
@Quaker763 Windows 7 is not really the problem, graphics cards drivers etc can be a huge issue though. I had major problems with RADEON cards, swapped to Nvidia and it was alot easier to configure.
@MrLaserowy YES. That'd be effing amazing. Also, I don't care who'd make it (I mean, if it's BioWare, all the better), but I'd LOVE to see a Battlefront III.
@MrLaserowy Well, alright, you have to pay the monthly fee, but the gameplay can be essentially single-player if you wish. You can ignore group quests, ignore social content, solo everything, and you'll still complete your story. What I meant by "SWTOR IS KOTOR 3" is that SWTOR is a continuation to KOTOR 1 and 2.
well, that is a hard one, Kotor 1 is truly a great game but the same with Kotor 2, i say that kotor 1 is better due to the HUGE amount of kotor 2 content cut, but i'm sure when Team Gizka finishes TSLRP, it will be just as good as kotor 1
hey can some1 tell me, im playin the game for the second time and in certain conversations, i am missing some reply options. this is a rely big bugger. can some1 help me out? its like i hav al the other options except the one i want
I'm replying to a comment a year old.... I think if they made Kotor3, they should use an improved version of gameplay from the first 2, which is essentially Dragon Age's gameplay.
@twiztedreverb hope you built it yourself, cheaper and better parts! sooooo know the feeling though, was 13 when i got it and it is THE best RPG i have played
