I still think it's going to be a massive disappointment to the OG fans. I don't think it'll be a game for us, it's a game for the tiktok generation, and we will lose much of the story/game play that we loved. I'd rather no remake than a bad remake.

With Disney having the final word, it's going to be dog shit.

At the rate things have been going, I think I would much prefer to see another attempt at a fan remake instead of an official remake. A lot of modern companies have this habit of making it so you can't buy the original games after they release a remake, so if the new one turns out to be shit, everybody loses. It's a shame that Unreal project got cancelled a while back. There are also a few attempts to write open-source engines for playing KoTOR 1/2; reone, xoreos, and kotor.js (the latter of which seems to have the most progress), but I don't think any of them can be called stable, yet, sadly. If one of them ever does reach a 'mature' state, though, that would be a huge boon, since it would open the way to higher quality mod support than the original games, as well as patching engine-side bugs.

And now hope survives I hope becomes Multi Platform to both PS5 and Xbox Series S at release.

Coming back to this after the Battlefront Classic Collection release: How do you feel about the remake now, considering Aspyr was previously a part of Saber Interactive, and both tend to be focused in the same general area of expertise (porting work)?

It's not that I don't think it'll come out. It's that I hope it doesn't. Sorry Papito but it'll be an abomination.

I do not trust anyone with the franchise atm. I would rather no one released anything, especially not officially. Maybe fan remakes could be fun, but they won't have the novelty and complexity that the original did, imo. It'd just be a hackney lil goober experience, which is better than more greedy companies churning out mediocre flashy bullshit and milking us for money on nostalia nips, lol.

Not out of the woods ye-e-e-e-et. Should have gone the remaster route though. More safer, less critical. Addendum: Also, hate to say it, but KotOR just pales sorely in comparison to other RPGs like its sequel, Dragon Age: Origins+Awakening, almost every Troika title, and even the Mass Effect trilogy. Something about it just feels painfully generic, even if I still love it as a Star Wars game.
