From a young age I discovered video games and their unlimited potential. I'm here to highlight and analyze exceptional examples of philosophy and storytelling presented in video games. Video games should not be seen as a "lesser" art form and I'm here to prove it.
Form I = Way of the Sarlacc Form II = Way of the Ysalamiri Form III = Way of the Mynock Form IV = Way of the Hawk-Bat Form V = Way of the Krayt Dragon Form VI = Way of the Rancor Form VII = Way of the Vornskr
I'll admit, I feel like this one is a slight grasping of straws. It's *natural* for the likes of the HK-50s to improve themselves, as they despise the idea of becoming inferior, of becoming obsolete. And as you said, they clearly said they were working on a new generation, a vast improvement over their current model and more than capable of continuing their goal to purge the galaxy of sentient meatbags. But the HK-50s? They have no master. They don't want or need one. Well, sort of. What I feel is one of the major differences between the 50s and 47 is that the 50s aren't designed to shut down once their master is dead. It would be an Achilles's Heel with a legion of droids that big, and it's why they have continued to operate. I think Revan never activated the HK-50 droids in the first place, but was intending on doing it at some point. The Jedi got their hands on him, and Malak likely didn't care about the HK-50s - His lack of subtlety doesn't really require further explanation. His outright annoyance at 47 for calling him Meatbag was likely all the motivation he needed to not care about the 50s. Besides, he had the Star Forge. He had the Rakatan battle droids. If he ever wanted to use the HKs, he could have made them on the Star Forge or other worlds. The HK-50s weren't designed to answer to a singular master - Or perhaps having no direct master to call their own was what led them to develop their own self-absorbed sense of supremacy, that the stars belonged to them alone. They were designed from a droid built specifically to destroy Jedi, so why wouldn't they hunt Jedi? As for the use of their protocol mistranslation? Some of that could be attributed to G0-T0 - The mistranslation 47 mentions when asked about it results in a situation that the Republic can eventually intervene in with less supplies required. Highly cynical, outright immoral, but it fits with G0-T0's agenda - Preservation of the Republic by any means. The 50s are more than happy to oblige. But they aren't under his total control. They want to rid the galaxy of all life. It's hard to have a Republic if every member of it is dead. Perhaps either G0-T0 had some other ace up his sleeve, like a means of reprogramming them, or maybe HE introduced the behavior core issue in the 51s. But that one is still a slight grasp of straws. It's probable the 51s just haven't got all the kinks ironed out.
No. Not everything needs a film/TV show adaptation. KoTOR is perfect as it is, as a game that was released in 2003. We don't need that idiot making a TV show about it (she'd ruin it), and we don't need the KoTOR remake.
Sion and Nilus' descriptions were awesome, but Traya's is not only limited by the twist, but gives said twist away anyway. Here's an alt version I just thought up: "Even now she is difficult to see; perhaps to ensure her survival against the others. But in this you must trust me: if we attempt to seek her out now, I am certain the effort will drain us, and then she will destroy us before we can even draw sabers". Feel free to share criticism/improvements.
Sparing Atris after defeating her, showing her mercy after pulling the veil from her sight, is one of the most cathartic choices in this game. Not demand penance from her, as a Jedi would do, or to torment her with the mad speech of the holocrons, as a Sith would do. But showing her that there is another way, past the doctrine, beyond the arrogance. She is given a chance to rise above the council, who couldn’t conceive of a life without the Force.
Visas Mar is best girl in the game. She has an amazing character development when going to the light side, and her confession to you is heartwarming, as you accept it and use the force to allow her to see your face.
With Disney leading the charge and after how bad The Acolyte is? No way should they make a KOTOR show. If anything, it's best Disney stay away from the Old Republic/KOTOR series because they don't understand it at all and would make far too much awful changes. Not to mention put the wrong people in charge over who to make it for.
Say what anyone will about BioWare games, I swear the voice acting and direction beats a whole lot from currently tired Ubisoft franchises like Assassin's Creed and especially Bethesda's RPGs like Fallout 3 and 4 and Starfield. It's like comparing Andrea Romano's work for the DC Animated Universe and other DC comics cartoons compared to how things went for Super Friends and X-Men+Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
I've come to this seeing the recent developings of MrBeast's gifting 100 homes to poor people I heard they've started selling those homes for money. What will they do with that money is anyone's guess, but it's pretty easy to imagine what they'll do with that money. Kreia's teachings about charity proves time and time again that they're right. Giving things for free to those who don't deserve it, or don't earn it, is far more damaging than oppressing them
