@@shiningarmor2838 The first time I saw it I left the theater because , I was too scared to watch the whole thing . But I did better on the second viewing .
V. Dargain Well Philip Glass is a minimalist composer and JSB is Baroque to the max. An interesting thought though. Jack Bruce said he wished the old JS would have written the bass lines got him to play with Cream.
First time I heard this was back in the 90s and I've been hooked ever since. Then when it was in Watchmen that added an entire new dimension to that movie. Now I listen to it and to this day it still mesmerizes me. I never want it to end.
It’s interesting to listen to this song and watch people while you are driving speed past you and scurry to their everyday lives just continuing to live in the system we have been formatted for as human beings.
Jens, thankyou for posting this great video. I have been putting this to score myself. It seems quite simple as there are two phrases, but I am having a little difficulty getting the bass clef right. Thanks again.
Very well done. I've listened to at least parts of the OST every week for a few decades. It is so perfect for reflection and thought. Can say how many times I watched the film. I saw it when it first came out in the theater, and it apparently stuck with me much longer than expected.
You are the reason I got an organ, and have been trying to play. My son, 11 years old are also playing. This video of you playing is amazing and we love it. I showed it to the organist in my church. He was asking where he can get the notes so he can play. Where can we? thanks!
The recording quality of this post oddly helps the music in some weird way. Especially from what I know about the movie. You don't want clean and pristine in this
@@johnknott6539 it’s not that the audio is necessarily poor. If anything, it just goes to show that 99.9% of organ music is meant to be felt first, then heard. That’s my favorite part about playing the organ: crank up the volume, gut out the lower registers, and shake the building. Good times.
Before now, I had always thought it was the Supreme inventor of the universe who played this (the cosmic cause that started the Big Bang) now I see it's actually Philip Glass through yourself, Herr Heitmann ... amazing, so simple yet so complex... hoorah and kudos....
Poor camera quality or not, you do this piece justice, sir! Beautifully done! This piece alone makes me want to learn how to play a keyboard instrument, if only for this one song. --I also couldn't help but notice your little smirk while playing. When I saw that, I literally yelled out, "HELL YES!" It brings me great joy to see a musician really getting into their music. It's the best feeling in the world, though it's a little tough to smirk whilst playing the oboe! Blessed be, and keep spreading beautiful music!
It remembers some baroque ciaconas above all that it consists of an ostinato with variations. I would like to know if it is possible to get the score at the internet.
Danke! Thanks to youtube recommendations I came here and I really love your interpretation of Koyaanisqatsi. The organ adds some kind of dramatic subflavor to it. I'm just wondering if you still have access to the cathedral and could do another run with better sound recording.Would be very appreciated - thank you!
@@jensheitmann1989Großes "Danke schön" für die schnelle und vor allem positive Antwort. Freut mich sehr zu lesen und später auch zu hören. :) Viel Erfolg!
