We have two casinos -- oops! Two Integrated Resorts -- that Singaporeans CANNOT visit without paying a penalty -- oops! "Entry Fee" -- and the only place for see horse racing/betting is being closed down... I do not see the govt opening up the casinos, i mean, Integrated Resorts to Singaporeans, or lowering the "entry fee". In due course, the Singapore Turf Club might just show horse races in KL, Ipoh, Penang (I believe they already do) on screens, and bettors can gather there. STC may just expand their viewing halls (if there is demand), or shrink the rooms as needed.
@@leehyunsong7001 LOL. You have quite a sense of humour. The only thing regrettable about the race course is the loss of a heritage site. On the other hand, country clubs are so far removed from the man in the street. So I don't feel the loss.
Singapore Turf Club( f.k.a. Singapore Sporting Club (SSC) has history of more than 180 years. It is not cultural property, but hope they preserve something whether tangible or intangible to let future generation know about it.
Horses are sentient beings who can provide therapy but are abused in racing not because they want but because of humans striking at them. They often run to exhaustion and sustain injuries, often very painful ones. Once they "underperform" they're slaughtered. All for humans' penchant for gambling and exploitation. It's immoral to say the least.
Maybe you move back to the old Turf Club, may be the business is better? Cos so ulu, no wonder no one wants to go there. And the land bank you have sitting in Bt Timah, not like anyone using. Its a bit of a shame, a piece of heritage just gone.
Even the dead at lim chu kang has to move on top of many other vegetable and poultry farms around that area with short notice. The birds at jbp already moved. What makes u think the horse cant move? Oh this time its close down after move 3 times already. Orchard towers and golden mile closed too. Paya lebar airbase to move to tengah too. All shipping container already move to tuas. Expect more surprise moves to come. Whos next? 😂
Even though it is not a popular decision, it is the right decision. With the extremely high demand in housing and low supply of available housing now, we need the land (which has been clearly under utilised). With an area that big, supply will increase significantly, which can potentially lower housing prices in the future.
Everything is All About Profits & More Profits !!! What Developmt ? Aiming for Population of 10M or 12M by year 2050 . By the time , WE ARE BURNING UP WITH SO MUCH CONCRETE HERE & THERE !!!

Because the birth rate is declining and the population is aging so need replacement. Otherwise the economy will be declining as well with lesser people and increasing lack of manpower due to old aging people.
