I don't understand why in all the videos I've seen so far, they give experience to Thor when he's against Kratos. Kratos has fought and defeated monsters, primordials, titans, and especially gods. He has also dealt with 2 pantheons (Greek and Norse). Experience should go to Kratos.
Theres a difference between experience and battle experience Edit: okay lemme explain alright? For example you failed with a job, then another, again, again, and again now you have experience from old jobs and can be better and you gotten older probably.Battle experience is the same thing but with battling we don’t know how old kratos is so we can’t give him experience because hes maybe 1055 while thor in the mythology is 1500 years old also we haven’t seen thor fight anything besides mentioned giants and nothing else.
@@t.o.w.a8434 Kratos has been training combat since birth because he's a Spartan. He even used to be a general. So he wins battle experience as well as general experience.
@@CHADES350 Some people argue that age and experience are 2 different things. But let's say that it matters. Do you have proof that Thor is older? I don't bring up age because as far as I'm aware, there is no evidence that proves whether Kratos is younger than Thor or vice versa.

Cory barlog did answer that between greek era kratos and norse era kratos, norse era kratos would beat his younger self easily Norse gods already outclassed greek gods in my opinion. If we use the logic in the novels and in the game itself it gets quite clear this kratos is in his prime and he is still struggling against norse gods

So in GOWR Thor is mid difficulty even thought he killed kratos once and was able to kill him again if kratos didn't change prophecy. You are literally making thor weaker then what the director literally envision between the 2 of them.

@Anon User the weapons were more useful after he lost a good majority of his own godly powers. The weapons just gave him borrowed abilities but Zeus himself stated that Kratos was too powerful and had to weaken him by tricking him into draining his powers in the Blade of Olympus
In my opinion Kratos from God Of War Chains Of Olympus can defeat Thor, because in addition to the fact that Kratos is already incredibly strong, he has the gauntlet of Zeus and for me that weapon gives the Spartan enough advantage to take victory.

@Anon UserYou man confuse game lore with mechanics. It's obvious that in a game with many weapons you are going to use them all for various reasons. But in a lore fight, Kratos doesn't really need them, and this was intrinsically explained in the fight against fear Zeus, where Zeus destroyed all Kratos's godly weapons, but Kratos still managed to beat him with only the blades/bare hands. The fucking effect of the POH is this, you can kill any god even with your bare hands.

Don't remember Kratos Lifting or swinging Mjolnir. Strength goes to Thor against every version. The older version of kratos is Stronger than his younger self. Besides, We have yet to see how truly powerful Thor really is or was. Considering Thor admitted to being a destroyer like Kratos himself. Thor and Kratos are the same people in different mythologies in this game. For the older Kratos. Speed and Strength 100% go to Thor. Thor is much much older than Kratos, but we don't know all the fights Thor has done (despite in mythology every day in Asgard it's a war against anything especially powerful beings) So experience is a tie. Why strength goes to Thor? Simply because of Mjolnir which weighs more than the nine realms. Considering Kratos can't budge it. He can barely stop it, but thats not nearly enough to how Thor and Odin handle the weapon alone. Combat and abilities are a tie. Durability Goes to Thor. Even with a poisnous leviathan Axe from the world serpent and taking multiple hits and fights, he's still able to constantly throw himself at Kratos no problem. Battle IQ is a tie. IQ probably Kratos, but we don't know how much Thor thinks for himself and keeps it too himself. However, if he wants to he can amplify all of his abilities greatly by calling power upon himself from the all father Odin himself just like with the Valkeries. It would be a great fight and closer than some, but Thor would win. Even took 3 to kill Odin. The only thing going for Kratos is how lucky he was to receive the poison from the world serpent to even damage Thor.

I don't understand why people choose to give kratos the strength. The hammer which Thor grabs the mjolnir is so light for him compared to kratos. Kratos could only stop the mjolnir but not carry it...

Odin is older than Zeus since he's kinda one of the first beings I mean he's like at least as old as Cronos or Hades. Hades being the eldest of Cronos and Zeus is the youngest. With that i mind, Zeus has had sons far older than Kratos so if we were to say that Odin and Zeus gave birth to their sons at the same age but not the same time(obviously), Thor is logicality older than Kratos, even with the timeskip between GoW 3-5. Since Google isn't much help and I haven't got the time to research cutscenes for any year hints, I'd say this is a fair explanation. Battle experience goes to both. Thor has been fighting his whole life and so has Kratos. Kratos with his God slaying and pre-god Spartan general. And Thor with his giant slaughter and Idk he's been in a lot of fights basically.

If we connect that to the Greek pantheon, Odin's killing of Ymir is at the same time when some primordials of Greek died and formed Gaia/Earth. See i find it funny how everyone thinks the old kratos and the olympian gods are stronger. But the game creators with all the evidence shown and stated in gow 4 and gow ragnorok are clearly trying to show that the norse mythology is much stronger and more dangerous in this universe.

Older kratos is stronger than young kratos and Thor killed him in the first fight and coulda left him dead but chose to revive him coz holding back kratos is mid diff for Thor even when thor himself is also holding back in the first fight. Thor also smashed Kratos' shield which not even baldur or odin managed to do. 2nd fight he held his own after just defeating jormungander so hard he sent him back in time 100s of years. Kratos and Thor are dead equal with Thor having the edge over young kratos. Imo
The way young Kratos fights would give him much more of an edge against Thor than Old Kratos, plus, Old Kratos held back tremendously against Thor, young Kratos would not
