Hey guys and welcome to todays video which is all about Krave Beauty and the products which are now available here in the UK.. I would love to know your thoughts and feelings on this brand so please leave me a comment below with your thoughts and feelings on the brand... Sending you so much love xxxxx
What people should appreciate tho is that Krave doesn't just push more products onto our faces. Instead, they worked HARD for the formulation that you wouldn't need a variety of products for that one step in your skincare routine (except the fact that they were too reliant about the SPF ratings these crude manufacturers gave to the sunscreen, altho Krave had their own faults for not disclosing their SPF value knowing that would cause a lot more stress for the consumers).
Hi hun, I think this is a good point and I dont like brands who launch a new product weekly but I would look forward to a new product from them for sure... sending you lots of love xxxxx
I disagree, the Aveeno one is okay, but Krave's is better and more hydrating since it's glycerin and not silicone based. I have no problem with silicones, but prefer squalane and glycerin, I find them more compatible with my skin. And it's only a $10 difference, not way way more.
@@staceygreer2207 if you don't mind me asking what nighttime cleanser do you use bc i too have a problem with silicones and they appear in a lot of clenasers
@@wydmatt7294 when I get home I use either the Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm or Clinique Take Off The Day, which I like better, but more expensive to remove sunblock and makeup. Then I follow with a regular cleanser. I use a lot, I switch them up. Cerave foaming cleanser and Innifree Green Tea cleansers are good and inexpensive. I also use Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser a lot in the summer.
Great Barrier relief is seriously the ONLY skincare product that has ever significantly and continually soothed my skin. It’s my holy grail product and I’m not someone who buys into hype of things and am almost always disappointed by things but this truly is my favorite skincare product and even helped speed up the healing and fading of a bruise I had under my eye.
It was clear from this video that you didn't follow Liah for a long time. I'm in Canada and when I ask what other retailers sites I can buy Krave from Liah said they are not partnered with any because they want to make sure the products are stored in temperature controlled environment. And when it comes to other retailers they do not have control over it. They now come up with international shipping but it is way expensive, so my place of choice to get Krave would be sokoglam. with the products, they expanded over the years, Krave started with cleanser and toner and added moisturizer, serum and sunscreen in the following years. She aim not to pump the products out to dominate the market. Which is sustainability for a long run. I'm surprized to hear from you about the cleanser did you dissect Hyram's cleanser in the same way? All Inkey list cleansers less that $15 but his is 26
Rob I've been watching your channel for a while and I think you're a nice guy but I'm really losing trust in whether you've actually even tried some of the products that you're reviewing. If you actually are using the products, show them in the video as the constant stock photos make me question things...
Krave truly is my favorite skincare brand out there. GBR and their cleanser are my absolute holy grails! I’m in the US and thankfully the prices are very reasonable here (way cheaper than La Roche Posay or even Hyram’s skincare line!)
I agree with you hun I know the issues surrounding this have put a lot of people off... I think its down to the individual of course so thank you for sharing your perspective... sending you so much love xxxxx
Overpriced? Most definitely. Holy grail? To some, yes. But to me, nope. But at least is not trying to be something its not. Unlike the hyram skincare line where it's no where "selfless" or "helping the environment". Tho, the great barrier relief product is like a hyram product. All in all, i could get a product just as effective at a more affordable price.
I think you sum up my thoughts on the brand entirely.. great products but there are dupes out there which I am loving.. thank you for sharing and sending you lots of love xxxxx
Thanks for the review! Really interesting. I think the GBR is ok, but I enjoy the Stratia liquid gold as an experience more. I also love the Deep in a Barrier from Sioris as a Tasmanian oil night cream, so wonderful! I’ve just ordered the new purito oat gel cream from YesStyle and I can’t wait to try!
Hi hun, so lovely to hear from you and I hope all is amazing with you.. I agree with you the strait liquid gold has my heart for sure and I think the smell of it is a little nicer than the GBR lol... sending you lots of love xxxxx
Great timing! I just ordered the GBR as a daytime alternative to the Stratia Liquid Gold (leaves my fair skin with a yellow tinge - and I don't use makeup to hide yellow) and I ordered the cleanser for my oily-skinned daughter. Appreciate the informative content.
It is funny how a smaller brand gave us some groundbreaking products and started some trends and now how every brand is had made a cheaper dupe. It definitely is good for the consumers so i am not complaining 🤷♀️
Thank goodness! You light up this day 🙏💗🙏 I know nothing about Krave so this will be enlightening! Thank you for the best, most honest videos on RU-vid 💗🙏💗 Lots of love and hugs 🤗 from Sweden 🇸🇪 ✌️😽💗 Charlotte
I jumped on Krave when it first came out. Though their products are pretty decent but the way they handle the sunscreen handle was really a turn off for me so I don’t think I will go back to repurchasing. I do feel bad for Liah because I think she is a genuine person with great intentions but not tackling the sunscreen issue head one really left her fans/consumer hanging (even to this day)….The positive is that She still achieved alot as a influencer and I still will still follow her on youTube for her recommendation/advice.
Just curious, but what about her handling of the spf debacle turned you off or how could it have been better? I personally got an email explaining what was happening, it was pulled until investigation was complete, she apologized, gave people back their money and then later got an update email with their findings and decided to hold off bringing it back for now. What else could could she have done to correct an error?
@@lleah2839 I somewhat remember in one of their emails, she mentioned that their first test came out at or above the stated spf but after testing it again somewhere else it wasnt. I dont have those emails anymore and cant say for sure.
I really liked the barrier relief serum. I have dry sensitive skin. Only negative thing is that you can’t get all of it out using the pump. I have quite a bit left in the jar that I have to stick something down in it to get more out. It makes it more difficult than what I’ve paid for it so I probably won’t buy it again
Their line was larger with their big hit, the Beet Shield / Beet the Sun SPF, but they used one of the K labs that gave out faulty results so they pulled it. I bet the reformulation will be fabulous! Oddly enough, it turns out I am allergic to tamanu oil, so the Great Barrier Relief causes me to have a little reactive breakout wherever I put it. The only other thing that does that to me is Face Theory's azelaic acid serum, and I can't figure out why! I'm hoping my MAS Got You Covered Super Serum will be a replacement for that ;) thanks for the review!
Oh gosh thankfully you have isolated it as the ingredient you are allergic to so you can avoid it.. your right the line was larger with the sunscreen but I hope they will bring out new products in the future.. sending you lots of love xxxxx
As a business owner I am weary of 'donate 1% of profits'. If a brand is being defended on its price point because the cost includes charitable giving, this defence is misguided. Profits are what is remaining after all expenses have been covered, from manufacturing, leases, legal expenses, wages, ingredients, advertising, down to staff room coffee. You can't mark up for donating and then call it a portion of profits. I feel this is a unfortunate guise for over inflated pricing. It is an 'honest' statement however most people's brains will read it as 1% of the price, ie: cleanser is $15 including GST, one might then think that their donation per that item, at 1% is $00.15. How when its on profit it changes so much. Start with removing GST (going with GST for my Country) - so that brings price to $13.04. Ingredients and manufacturering might be $5 (I'm uneducated in this field), all other expenses (power bill, Internet, leases, wages, toilet paper) per item might a $5. Now you have $3.04 left. Now the amount said to be donated from is not clear on whether it is the net or gross. And if it is the net amount, once taxes are deducted, we have around $2.33... That means 1% of profits is only $00.02 per unit. And then what I feel makes it all disingenuous, in my personal opinion, is then that the donation is then used to claim on taxes. Taxes which help fund our societial living, and fund health care, education, climate change initiatives (yes I know in the states, it also fuels the military industrial complex, but I'm just going with the goodies for now). Companies donate to charity and then take the money right back via deductibles, and scoff at why doesn't the governments do more financially to fund good things..... I believe that the willingness to donate is wonderful and comes from a generous, caring, loving place, however I feel that when we examine it we see it crumble very fast and that ultimately we need systematic change - we should be questioning why do we even need to donate to begin with, how are we failing our people and planet as a whole. Donations are wonderful, but at least couple it with a call to your local representatives, and talking with those in your community about how we need to do better as the Human Race.
I find myself wondering about brands that have chosen to have more "boutique" prices for products that can be "duped" at a much lower price point. Is is possible that being vegan makes up for the higher price? I don't have opinion about this, but I'm a frugal shopper and with all things being equal, will go for the lower priced option. I believe that people are getting more and more knowledgeable about skincare ingredients which could be a problem for Krave. And I also agree that a brand that has been around for a while should probably be offering more products!
I think much of that may come from research and development. I think he mentioned throughout the video that when these products were first released they were new and innovative. Because it’s new there’s a lot more work they have to put into testing, which results in higher prices in order to make that money back. That’s why you’ll find a first of a product or type of product to be more expensive than the ones that come after.
Happy Wednesday lovely xxxx loving the shirt, gives summery vibes 😆🥰I loveeee the great barrier relief and I’m so glad they went global!! I haven’t bought the GBR in a long time as the stratia liquid gold has my heart 😂💜💜💜sending sooo many hugs, the heatwave is definitely here!!
Happy Wednesday hun and I am clinging onto summer with this shirt lol.. I agree with you Stratia has my heart and I love the results I get form the liquid gold... I hope all is amazing with you and sending you lots of love xxxx
After the beet shield issue… primarily how it was handled, sorry to say I’m properly off the brand. Btw, is anyone having issues Stylevana ? Not sure Rob if you get the royal treatment (you naturally deserve it 👑) but it takes a good 8-12 weeks to get products, no tracking/shipping updates, and customer service is non-existent. Going by their insta, I’m not alone.
The brand is amazing. Beginning it her open communication to actually caring about customers and the enviroment. I dont know a brand that does it like her. Additionally I dont like the wording holy grail but when I would need to pick one its the great barrier relief. Its just amazing, especially combined with her aha. Lastly she does also care about ingrendients and their toxicity to to enviroment which is something that matters to me a lot.Only deal breaker are really those huge shipping costs when trying to order from her site to europe. I hope they improve on that somehow
Thé Skin care You tube influencer world has grown SO fast, Krave feels like it was sooooo long ago it’s weird. I never felt Krave was worth the price (for me) because it has no physical presence in the states. Liah also stopped posting so Krave just became a pricey Korean skincare line with no face or accessibility imo. All those things shouldn’t necessarily matter but they do when there are other well formulated products at reasonable prices and/or if pricey, closer than Korea (& I love many Korean brands). Sorry to ramble. I know you’re a busy man!!! Love your channel Rob, thanks a zillion million 💕🌹💕🌹!!!
I have oily dehydrated skin and was using the entire Krave beauty line, saw minimal results with hydration but instead developed many sunspots and discoloration from using the sunscreen for 6 months. Never had sunspots before from using Shiseido sunscreen until I switched to the Beet Shield. Now the spf scandal explains everything and the cause of my problem. I have since switched to other brands and actives like Tretinoin, the Ordinary Lactic Acid, Buffet serum, Face Theory Resveratrol, Azelaic Acid, N10 serum, gel moisturizer and my skin is improving, feels hydrated, healthy looking, and discolorations have faded significantly. Krave products are over-rated, Great Barrier Relief serum felt nice but didn't do much for my skin, Matcha cleanser made my skin tight and dry if don't apply moisturizer within 10 minutes after cleansing, their glycolic acid toner was irritating for my sensitive skin. I only use the GBR serum now and then as I try to finish the remaining bottle but I am so glad I switched to other products, thank you for your recommendations.
I bought the Matcha cleanser, GBR, AhA and Beet Shield before they pull it. I loved the GBR and how my skin felt but for some reason do not feel the need to repurchase. The Beet Shield: I used it until it was gone. I really like it and hope the new formula and the spf level are legit to sell again. The Kalelaluyaha- I like this one. Use once a week. My skin doesn’t have a reaction and it helps with my breakouts. The Matcha Cleanser was interesting. When I first tried it my skin became drier than it already is. I brought 2 and gave one to my mom (she has oily skin). I ran out of my usual cleanser and all I had in the closet was the Matcha cleanser. I used it and for some reason my skin felt ok this go round. It didn’t feel as dry as before. I have continued using it. It is lasting forever but I like it now. My skin doesn’t feel tight like it did before. I like the jelly consistency and you don’t need much to cleanse your face.
Thank you so so much William.. I am getting through the backlog of brand reviews so shouldnt be long for the one I know you are waiting for :) sending you lots of love xxxxx
My husband had a bad work accident and burned his entire face. Krave Matcha hemp Hydrating cleanser is the only cleaner that he can use after the initial healing. Our Teen daughter also loves it . The price is good for us since You only have to use a pea size and Price for USA is low $16 dollars we buy 2-3 and get free shipping but still would have to pay for it if it was more. We have not found a dupe Thar works the same .I am going to try hyrams but it will actually cost more then Krave. We tried barrier relief but I really didn't notice a difference in our skin .
i really like the matcha cleanser!! the texture is so fun and unique. unfortunately i hated GBR! i have oily combo skin and it dried me out so bad everytime i used it. i would wake up in the mornings with desert skin. it also caused some breakouts:( now i just have a mostly full bottle sitting around, mocking me 💸💸
I personally will never ever purchase something fron Krave beauty after all the scandal with their sunscreen. And it’s not the sunscreen itself that makes Krave less credible, but the way they handled it. They have assured their customers that the beet shield was being rеpackaged, while it was being tested for its SPF in reality. After revealing that it was going to be discontinued due to lower SPF than expected, they refuse to tell their customers the SPF level yet they told influencers in order to keep connections. It's irresponsible!
Recently got their snack pack and their relief serum made me break out like crazy. My skin is not acne prone, but after using it, I got 4-5 zits on my face. Thank god I didn't get the full size, but I'm waiting for the zits disappear on its own :(
I looooove the Great Barrier Relief. The cleanser is a good one too, I found it to lather well and took awhile to run out. Like you said though, there’s ones that are similar for less. I have combo skin and I’m afraid the oat so simple won’t be enough for my dry spots.
I jumped late into Krave beauty, the cleanser and GBR are good but the scents are a bit off putting for me😬 I prefer the squalane cleanser and the liquid gold instead.
Haha its funny you mention the scent but this is something which a lot of people have issues with Tamanu oil as it has an odd curry smell which a lot of people dont like... sending you so so much love xxxx
GBR isn’t a key to anyones skincare but if you are starting tretinoin then this product is amazing to have on hand! Especially if you accidentally get tretinoin near your mouth which leaves cracked and painful skin. This stuff really helped to heal those issues very quickly. Imo product is best used as a spot treatment. The cleanser is the most hydrating cleanser I’ve ever used. It feels incredible with great ingredients. The moisturizer is a miss unless you have hypersensitive skin and need a calming very basic moisturizer.
That mark up for buying in the UK is very high! Almost £20 more for AHA exfoliator. I may get the Barrier Relief serum while I can still take advantage of having easy access to the US market. I really don't think I would pay the UK price. Let's hope it goes down soon.
Always wanted to try Krave but the price in the UK is at least double of the US price and the difference doesn't go into the brand either. Liah has mentioned in her videos they're working on international shipping so hopefully soon it will be available via their website and the price will be much closer to their original ones because those import fees are too high to be justifiable
Oh my word those prices on Stylevana are ridiculous! The prices are their website are much more affordable, but since they don't ship to the UK I guess that doesn't matter
Awesome, finally available in the UK, but damn is crazy expensive, I might as well buy Lancome or Armani skin care. I don't think I'll be buying anything from them due to the high prices and availability of many cheaper alternatives
I’ve got the snack pack coming in soon, now that I can order in Canada. I’ve wanted to try them for a while. I don’t think you will see the brand expand the line much, as they pretty much advocate for a simple skincare routine and line. The only thing that is likely to come back is the spf once reformulation happens.
I tried all the products from the Krave beauty for the past 2 years & my fav is the cleanser and the now discontinued Beet the sun suncreen. I have combination/sensitive skin but I do agree that the price is quite high for a smaller quantity. At their price, I can buy more Purito's products instead. I really didn't like the Barrier relief serum due to the smell. Made me dizzy when I first try it. Kaleluyah was ok for me & didn't do much difference for me. The most disappointing product for me was the moisturizer. It was too light for me. Had to layer it twice to feel the hydration from the moisturizer.
For me the Aveeno products are my source of oats. I used to like FAB's oat toner, but they've changed the formula & I can't use it anymore. Thanks for another informative video
hi . I'm using krave beauty barrier repair serum . it's great for all skin types also my oily acne prone skin. it is more as moisturizer than serum . it's my holy grail .i use it as a buffer before my retinol . thanks 😊
Soon Jung barrier cream is very good ( I got it for 10 dollars from Style Korean and I will continue buying) and Aveeno calm+restore line is good too, very gentle.
I LOVE the matcha hemp cleanser, the only other one Ive tried is the relief serum, I liked it but my skin likes the stratia liquid gold more, I add a drop or 2 of tamanu oil when I feel like like I want that addition.
Kraves really expensive in stylevana, plus they're not an authorised retailer so we can't guarantee the authenticity either. Really wish they sold it in yesstyle
Krave lost credibility when they refused to disclose the actual SPF of their sunscreen to their paying customers. Instead they only told a select group of Liah Yoo's influencer friends. That was cliquish and unprofessional behavior. I don't trust their brand anymore.
If I'm not mistaken I actually saw a video where they discussed the spf in Korea being the equivalent of 50 here in the US but because of the approval process through fda being long as it is and some ingredients not considered spf ingredients here in the US they chose to not release the Beet Shield in the US as an SPF BUT in Korea it had been released and listed as having an spf of 50. I will edit this comment if I find the video but I had watched it a few years back and Liah had explained it. The Beet Shield never was released in the US as a sunblock which is why there was no spf disclosed and for legal purposes. I'll try to find it.
Never tried their products. I think they are way to expensive for what they offer. In Europe they are way, way too expensive. Also, they might be fine for young, oily skin but they don´t offer much for dry/dehydrated and mature skin.
Love Crave beauty. Great Barrier Relief works great for me. Tried Stratia;s liquid gold and did not like it. Oh well, brands aren't always going to please everyone.
So I do enjoy the cleanser, but it is slippery AF. I have to emulsify in my hands and then add a small amount on a well pre moistened face and décolleté. Rub it into my face and neck and then add water to suds it up. If I don’t do this and just rub it between my palms and add water, it just all ends up slipping of my hands and into the sink 🤬
Overpriced, not available where I am, overrated influencer brand, and Liah Yoo somehow always manages to circle back to how her products will solve the problems you have ever since she released the line... no comment.
How is it overpriced? It's mid range pricing and pretty average these days. What makes it overrated when dermatologists and medical estheticians have complimented the formulations? What are you seeing that the professionals are not? Since when? She's touched on her products a bit yet still makes many videos recommending other products.
Stylevana was a bad experience for me Never delivered Never refunded Got good K-beauty products from TKMaxx (Azure skincare serums, no fragrance/ Banobagi, no fragrance/ Pearlessence, no fragrance) and from Amazon (Bonajour Propolis serum, Iunik serums…)
Big NONO. Used to use the cleanser and sunscreen. How they handled their sunscreen debacle left me seriously going WTF. Not only did I not get a refund, Liah refuses to disclose full testing data on the failed sunscreen. Furthermore she threatened B-Lab for supposedly "copying" her Matcha cleanser just because it has the word Matcha in the name. The 2 formulas are nothing alike. Liah was also for the longest time part of a big church that was, you guessed it, homphobic. While I appreciate the apology (tbh it was just damage control), Krave just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Plus there are cheaper dupes for their somewhat expensive products.
I’ve been using Krave for about 3 years now (along with lots of other skincare) and the price point doesn’t bother me. It’s a brand with integrity and transparency, and their products all deliver without irritation. I consider them the best basics around! And I’ll keep re-purchasing as long as I can. I actually use the matcha cleanser as my only cleanser at this point, because it just slowly out did any other one I tried. The other Krave products are all in my routine every couple days. I was super sad when the beet shield was pulled but I’m pretty sure they’re formulating a new spf.
I know what you mean hun, I nearly spit out my tea when I read the price point.. it is nice that people here can get the products but its another lever expensive... sending you lots of love xxxxx
When GBR was launched, NIOD Modulating Glucosides was already there and it is the best serum to repair damaged skin. I hated GBR cause it broke me out badly and the scent is terrible 😣
