I heard the reasons why this Shredder was shirtless and his armor blades and helmet were blue, because what I heard that playmates were hurrying to release the toys after the show debut, but they didn't have time to paint him properly... So which is why he's shirtless and armor blades and helmets are blue, however later, they released the Toon figures, they have painted the right colors on him (it is what I heard that is, y'all may correct me if I'm wrong)... Also I watched 'the toys that made us', the reason that the shredder pose like that because in comics/animations he's a tall character which they want to keep him that way, however marketing said it won't fit in the blister package, so they made him that pose like getting ready to strike...
Thanks for that info! I watched that episode of “The Toys That Made Us” but I honestly remember very little about it. That’s a very odd solution to the problem of his size vs packaging.
I always liked Shredder in the cartoon. This figure looks really cool but what I did not like about the figure even back in the day is exactly the thing you have pointed out: his stance. Limited our play a lot. Would be great if they where articulated. Thanks for sharing buddy
As a collector I agree, but as a kid I never noticed his stance or it never really bothered me now that I recall I remember I loved the cape and weapons 😆🤘
The stance at least looks cool but it is limited. As far as the color scheme I actually have two of this figure and I’ve been thinking of repainting one to look like the show.
@@EdDIE-lt5wu Haha 👍. Myself being used to the Gi Joe articulation really thought it was weird that he couldnt really move his legs. Nowadays to be honest I really think Shredder looks cool
