Krista Awad has been painting for most of her life. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, her parents always encouraged her to follow her passion and become a visual artist.
Krista began noticing issues with her vision from a very early age, specifically with her right eye. She was watching TV one afternoon, and the vision in her eye went completely black. It was then determined that Krista had a retinal detachment which she needed to have repaired immediately.
Years later as an adult, Krista was driving and noticed blurry vision in her right eye. She then discovered that a cataract had formed as a result of her previous retinal detachment.
After seeing many specialists throughout her life, Krista knew right away that she was in good hands with Dr. Varma. He eased her concerns and gave her hope. Not only can Krista now see 20/20, her vision is better than it's ever been!
