I thought this was so special that I edited together the best parts of two versions of this inspiring video.
Of course, all the credit goes to Mike Kestler and Holly Choe for capturing the moment on video in the first place. Thanks to them!!

Watch the conductor. That was my favorite part. His genuine shock at how good Sarah was. :D

In a news interview, Sarah said that there was a moment where the audience "faded away" and it was just her and Kristin. That's the magic of music, and I'm so glad we got to share this magical moment. I'm with Kristen here - inspiring!!

I love how the director turned around like stung by a bee at the first notes sung by Sarah

Thank you so much for posting this! This is exactly what I wished someone would do! Mike's audio, the best of both his and Holly's videos, AND what Kristin said afterward. This is my new favorite.

What sets your performance apart from the various other times she did this is that you weren’t afraid to make it your own with your vocal inflections and movements instead of just Mimic Idina … kudos! :-)

I was really moved by this too Bob. Thank you for your masterful editing!

Thank you so much...this is fabulous. I was caught up in Sarah's joy - but also Kristin Chenoweth's. Those magic moments happen so rarely when you're performing. They were perfectly in sync, musically, physically, emotionally...feeling each other, building off each other. I'll bet Kristin hasn't felt that joy, that ecstasy in performing in the zone, many times. The two of them were better than any performance Kristin and her Elphaba of the moment.

I did it because I was inspired by the event and caught up in Sarah's joy and excitement. I wanted to see the whole thing without switching between videos. I am grateful that someone was there to capture it in the first place.

Still gets me every time I watch it. The original is now past 2,900,000 views. But this is the best way to experience what happened. Thanks again for doing this.

Thank you so much for doing that. I, too, was switching back and forth when showing it to others. I thought about doing that, but my abilities to do so are limited. This is truly appreciated! Thank's rghurst! You're a champ.

Excellent. So glad you did this. I thought the same thing... the best from each video needed to be merged. Thank you for making this happen!

It was Sarah's "I'm on stage with Kristin Chenoweth," and her incredible instinct to do exactly the right thing (resting her head on Kristin's, rolling her eyes and smiling to the audience, engaging them, when Kristin said "It's still me," that let the magic begin.

As wonderful as this edited version is, and as wonderful as the singing is, IMO THE best moment is at 4:40! Sarah's expression. Just wonderful.

Thanks rghurst. I also was wishing for a video that combined the best of the other two videos. I hadn't heard of Wicked or For Good and I had barely heard of Kristen Chenoweth when the original two videos came out. I see so many people get knocked down these days and so its wonderful to see someone get knocked up! :) I play the video every day and I've posted each of the videos on FB and I've emailed this one to a friend. Can't wait to see how many views this video gets.

Such a joy to watch, Sarah and Kristen. You are both so poised and gracious--which is such an important ingredient in performance. And so beautifully executed. Congratulations on a most beautiful performance.

Haha. This is kind of hilarious to me. I had the same idea, and created and uploaded a combined video of my own, before I saw yours. And we made the exact same choices at every step (except I didn't think to cut back briefly to Mike Kestler's video during Sarah's walk offstage). Our videos opened the same, dissolved to Holly Choe's video at the exact same point (while keeping the Kestler audio), cut back to Choe's audio at the same point, and ended at the same spot. Great minds! :-)

My dad was visiting and I took him to see this show. We both swore she was a plant. Afterwards, Dad said, "note to self: don't be so cynical at live performances." The entire night was magical, and this song was definitely a highlight !

How did Sarah get picked to sing with her? Did they just pick someone from the audience or what? and if it was just random how did they know Sarah knew the whole song?

You cut my favorite part, at 3:22, the hopeful/nervous look on Kristin's face when she's not sure if Sarah knows the bridge.

By this point, I don't think anyone, including Kristin, had any doubt that Sarah knew the song.

4:10? Hmm... not for me. It's gotta be 2:50, when Sarah offers her had at the *exactly* perfect moment, and there is a near electric connection between her and Kristen that viscerally moved everyone there.

In fact, it wasn't set up, Tr1naB. If you're interested, do a little more digging and you'll read how it was all wonderful happenstance.
@SteveBrant55
@SteveBrant55 11 лет назад
Please reconsider your "totally set up" belief... by doing some research... by seeing Sarah's various interviews and news reports, new Facebook page, etc.You dishonor her and Kristin by writing what you wrote, given the genuine and unplanned nature of what really happened.
