Mike: Wonderful beyond words! Fell in love with the show instantly. I did have the opportunity to see the show again last year. It was not as good. Still excellent, but not as good. Possibly due to already knowing the music and storyline. Still, wonderful production both times. Well worth the money!
Hm, I'm with spud on that one. Verkaik isn't bad, of course, but Idina Menzel was just amazing. About Kristin Chenoweth... I don't understand at all why there is any doubt that she is the original Glinda. She fit the role perfectly, was funny, charming and almost stole the whole show with her charisma. Those 2 were simple amazing and I just don't see a better cast anytime soon. Especially Kristin is almost impossible to adequately replace.
Ok...IDINA MENZEL! You saw her, in Wicked... Possibly the greatest character/actress duo EVER created... With Kristin Chenoweth... possibly the greatest Broadway duo ever... J E A L O U S ! I even missed out on Idina when she came to London! And I cried...LOTS!!! *fumes* :P
OH I am sooo glad u posted this I love kristen, no Galinda is better then THE FIRST!!!! LOL, she is sooo good, and not to be mean to any of the other galinda's because there has been sooooo many great ones too but she is the one who "molded Galinda"!
oh cool! i didnt know that! wouldnt it have been so cool if she could have played your one in enchanted! i love seeing her and idina together! if they make a wicked movie idina and kristin better be in it!:D
Idina and Kristen has been studying these characters for 3 years (since the project began). The new actors were brought in to just fill in for those parts - though good, they don't have the best experience with the characters as the originals. That happens in every show - some of the jokes are said in a wrong way, certain words are said in a wrong way, etc.
wicked is AMAZINGGGG :) trust me you'll enjoy it. it's worth watching :) believe me, you won't be disappointed :) i watched it before in the summer and it'll make you laugh and cry :) you'll love it :)
I know. I was just commenting that she is always great, no matter what she's doing. I know that she was playing Glinda, she came out in the bubble after all.
Erm... I think Les Mis won longest running ever in the West End. I'm not sure, but I think that's the advert on it. Phantom opened 1886 first and Les Mis opened in the West End 1985 and is still there. I heard the composers are writing new musical... EXCITEMENT! Glad you liked Wicked too! I've seen it 6 times, 5 with Kerry Ellis, one with stand-in. I saw it after Idina left and I've ALWAYS regretted it!!!
