Best guide ever! I loved the town recommendations. We've been to Rhinebeck a few times so it's good to know where to hit up. And Rhinebeck. Can't wait!
You are both so cute! thanks for the shout out from my sock blanks. It is great to see some of the other wonderful places and vendors to see in this preview. I have written down a few and will visit some when I get out of the booth. This show is so buzzy and fun. Have a great time! gale
Jill was telling me about a non profit called O positive where artists trade their services like murals for medical care. cool right? There tons of murals in Kingston as a result of this initiative
Don't forget about nearby Saugerties, home of my favorite shop ever, The Perfect Blend Yarn and Tea Shop. I think Mary will be keeping the shop open later that weekend until 9:00 pm. Kristy, I loved the tour of my home area. Great job!
I know! I actually have an interview with them coming up and I didn't know that at the time I recorded this! We mention it in the interview! Thanks for including it here!
OMG this got me very stoked for my first visit to Rhinebeck this year! Thanks for the shots around town. I'm traveling with my husband and teen kiddos who will love to bike around downtown Rhinebeck and sight see/eat while I am at the festival. I hope the weather cooperates :)
Thank you for this. This is my first time going to Rhinebeck. I am in a wheelchair so it is always a big win to be able to scope out the environment ahead of time to prepare. Being in large crowds of people in a wheelchair is daunting, but with a little forethought is doable. I am so excited to be taking a class with the Sockmatician on Saturday. (by the way, you might consider Nathan Taylor, the Sockmatician for one of your videos). My most wonderful husband will be my escort so I hope he likes looking at sheep for a couple of hours. Maybe I will see you there. Again, thank you this is really helpful.
You guys are so amazing and funny ! What a beautiful tour, and I saw a few favorites! I have gone to Rhinebeck 4 times and I hope to go this year butbinky Saturday. Definitely will check some of the ines you recommend. Thank you for the amazing episode Hugs Emilia
Loved your tour! I wish I knew this last year when there. I would suggest bringing patience as there are crowds and lines everywhere! Kristy will you be doing one of these vids for Maryland S&W this spring? Thanks! Love your sweater/poncho!!!!
Thanks for a great guide! Just a note that there's been a change: Feel Good Yarn Co. will unfortunately not be at Indie Untangled this year, but Asylum Fibers will be taking their place and will have her own booth. There will also be some skeins of the special La Bien Aimée and Asylum colors at the Indie Untangled booth for those who didn't preorder.
You didn't call the Knitting Garage the Yarn Garage this time! Great video Kristy... One day I might be able to make it to the states for a yarn holiday!
Hi Kristy, I'm wondering what sets Rhinebeck apart from other sheep and wool festivals. I'm doing a branding project on Rhinebeck for a graphic design class. I've never been to Rhinebeck before but looking forward to going this year. Is Rhinebeck bigger than other sheep and wool festivals? What is it about Rhinebeck that makes it the penultimate knitting event? Thanks in advance if you get a chance to respond! xoxo
I am sure MANY PEOPLE have LOTS OF OPINIONS And ANSWERS to this question. I suggest doing some research on Mason Dixon Knitting and other podcaster channels. Personally, I think TIMING is everything. It lands on the turning of the leaves and more often than not, is PERFECT sweater weather. The food, the wardrobe, the environment, the weather all lend itself to the ultimate knitter experience. ALL the senses are heightened and the kinship between knitters is palpable.
Thanks for gathering si much great information! Now i really want to go.. I can't of course, so i will be looking forward to your videos.. Especially Rhinebeck Sweater2 💜💜😎
Video is terrific! Although, I am a long time Sheep and Wool Fest visitor it is great to here your take on who to visit. I would add one more Jamie's Rainbow Yarn, Build 22, downstairs, Booth 2. Her yarn is a mix of merino, angora and alpaca. It is soft, beautiful and naturally dyed, bright and colorful. She has been at Rhinebeck forever and is a wonderful person. Her mystery hat pattern is so warm and perfect for winter! Check her out!
Oh I forgot to tell you that I like fabulous yarns , yarn store . It's only about 4 miles from the grounds and they usually do 30 % off on everything . They are really nice
Kristy, I didn't hear the name of the shop or the shop owner in Kingston that is having the open studio Sat nite. The address would be great too! Love your interviews and videos!
Oh, hey, Kristy (and everyone else), be sure to check out Julia Hilbrandt's felted bags. She's in Building 36, Booth 4 this year. Her felted totes, purses, and accessories are streamlined, modern, and whimsical all at the same time. I bought a bucket bag last year, and fully expect to add to my collection this year. As a bonus, she lives and works right in Rhinebeck. www.juliahilbrandt.com/
I love your co-host, and I'm always glad to see her, but I don't think you've introduced her since the first time she appeared, and you never put her in the description :) Who is she again? I can't remember. It's like when you forget someone's name, and the next 10 times you see them no one uses their name, and you're like omg what is your name, and you start talking about crazy things, like funny name rhymes, hoping they'll talk about their name, and what rhymes with it.
