Even seasoned Kriya Yogis are sometimes lead to believe that Kriya is a visualization technique. MY BOOK: a.co/d/20O2lWu / forrestknutson www.meditative... Thank you to Doug Gemmell for the amazing music!
This one is particularly helpful because I am a very visual person and have been able to induce the freeze state reliably but find doing the Om Japa a little vague. I’ve gotten far enough to not just picture the chakras but have not been able feel into them as a direct inner sensation. After this explanation while SVS I was conscious of the feeling in each of the chakras changing slightly as I omed into it. Just a little hint and I was able to do it and then see the how I might be able to move further toward a being state. It is so wonderful that you have found a way to teach at this detailed level over the internet! I’m 81 and don’t have 20 years and I live in very isolated place - Western Australia - and yet I was just able to move significantly forward without leaving my house. This is amazing Grace! Thank you so much.
Good morning, Forrest! Loving your books and videos. Got your three courses and am using them to great effect. Here’s to you and yours this year! Cheers, Stephen
Thank you so much Forrest ~ I am a big time visualizer all the time. This is very helpful to understand why I need to not do that during my meditation. I've been doing pretty good, catching myself etc. Knowing why is a huge help 💕 I find your teaching so patient, kind and joyous 😊
Fantastic, Kim. It's totally okay to have a concept of what we're doing, however the main process will always be the HRV-Resonance and the Biofeedback that we are feeling and establishing. 🙏🪷🙏🪷
After watching this video, I immediately went to Amazon and bought his book, "Mastering Meditation: Eight Steps From Beginner to Adept." I can't wait until I become the *Holy Potato!*
Lovely ..so the visualization actually takes you out of the present moment, which we don’t want. We are instead absolutely present with the happenings as we meditate. Nice, thank you, Forrest :) …as always, you do know how to present things so clearly and succinctly 🌸
It's so wonderful to be back with your community again. Soooooo.....no visualization , oh my goodness. I've been visualizing so much when I Om Japa into the chakras from root to medulla in one breath up and then one exhale down from medulla to root. So I'm guessing that simply by intending that each Om go into each chakra up and down, that the "exercise" is being accomplished. (Not the right words) For sure I have a constant "roll up" happening the entire time that I'm doing the "exercise". My head rolls up and back with the in breath and then my head floats back down, chin towards chest on the out breath while doing the om japa. Perhaps I'm answering my own question as I ask it. I shall drop the visualizing the next time I do my Kriya and see what happens. The bliss which I feel each time I do Kirya is amazing. Thank you for your wonderful videos Forrest.
Great pointers, Forrest! I love the part about the left hemisphere and its narrative. It makes sense. To the Holy Potatoness and Beyond! Blessings and blissings!
Thanks a lot Forrest Ji, Lately I stay a long time listening my body snoring, sometimes I see myself doing the gardening or walking in the garden, not thinking about visualization that just is replayed for me to watch, it's strange sensation like the body is working on without my consciousness 😳
The instruction says squeeze root chakra and pull energy up along the straight spinal cord as breath comes in. I don’t see how that doesn’t cause visualization of energy flowing up in straight line and sensing it has travelled up to certain point until it reaches pineal gland proximity. It causes slight tension in few nerves along the shoulder area because of strong pull of energy upwards. There is required imagining energy is flowing along the back downwards.
One thing I don't like about Kriya Yoga is that you can't practice in the presence of others, when I live with roommates in one room in a small space, I have 2 hours free for myself after work and i cant do my meditation because there are other people so i must do some other meditation practice like anapana.
Im not talking about noise , when I was initiated Swami tell us to not practice with present of other people around , to practice only alone or with someone who was initiated. Is this really necessary? Then I am unable to meditate Kriya Yoga regularly.
Forest I'm not sure if you'll get this. My kundalini rose 5 days ago. I have been doing yoga the last few years but I'm a Reiki healer and thought the vibrations were from that. I'm going through your kundalini list. I've been having trouble with a ball in my back at times on the right side of my heart and my throat. I don't know if this is resolved now that it rose. I'm going through your kundalini playlist and need directions for the best books. Now that it rose so much makes sense. I have other practices but not active kundalini practices. What is my best option to learn how to release the lump out of the throat?
Wonderful. It happens as we integrate with the subconscious, and the awareness rises. These concentrated centers often happen when the subconscious is working on a physical or emotional need in the area. It will knot up in the area and feel "stuck." You can OM into these points and see if it helps or dissipates the concentration. Practice lots of grounding and letting go.
When you don't feel like you "get" them just yet, don't worry about that, and just "OM in their general direction" as best you can. It still works wonderfully!
In my experience, no. It leads to a long parasympathetic awakening, which automatically begins to bring balance into the breath. You only need be present and allow.
I was taught that OM is the transliterated spelling; however, AUM is the pronunciation. To properly pronunciate OM make the hard AHH tone with your mouth open and continue that tone the entire time. Simply slowly close your mouth while continuing AHH. Keep the tone. As you close your mouth, the shape will flow into the U which will sound like the OHH and finally when your mouth is closed you will naturally make the MMM sound. Don't try or force yourself to make the U or the M sound. It will come as you close your mouth making the AHH tone. I pray this helps you. Extremely effective for this one.
@@ForrestKnutson Thank you! What next video do you recommend after that? I'm going to buy your book in the near future! Fantastic channel and insights! :)
Well, this is a bit worrisome, but not so much. The term visualization seems to have been hijacked by the modernists....oh well. So yeah, picture yourself in a boat by the river (strawberry fields) IS a visualization....sorry guys! Anyways, if you want to compare it to a vision board and make the definition subject, that is your call. Om
It might take 10 or 15 minutes to enter into Resonance at first. Then it will take 5 minutes. Eventually, only a minute and you will be there. The process of OM Japa is cumulative and grows over months. Generally, students find it has completely transformed them over a year.
