Interestingly, his stance on the past seems to live in current protests, EZLN, Rojava/AANES, Myanmar libertarian guerrillas, and horizontalist popular movements. There appears to be a growing reality that aligns with the anarchists' vision, as Kropotkin described. No matter how hard any state tries, it's always there, around the world, like seeds growing: mortal in the flesh but immortal as an ideal.

He was correct, on part. The world under colonialism caught a break after WW1 and II. This respite is what gave room for many revolutionaries and scholars to stand their ground and for causes to start leading to the emancipation of many and a shift in European colonialism to imperialism and economical/financial oppression in place of direct occupation.

@Glamerth MLs aren't leftist. Leftism has always been primarily anti authoritarian and egalitarian. MLs have only ever achieved state capitalism, by design, and could never have achieved socialism. It's a failed and disproven right-wing ideology.

@@rbxless do you know what the capitalists are doing to us RIGHT NOW?? Literally 20 million deaths per year because of capitalism, and untold suffering. Also you are judging MLs by their early days of war communism. MLs were generally violent as a reaction to terrible imperialist aggression. (Examples: USSR invaded by 14 western countries, NK bombed into oblivion and 1 million civilians killed and every city ground into dust, Cuba has had many coups attempted and an invasion thwarted, Vietnam invaded on false pretenses, huge percentage of their civilians killed and brutalized, etc etc etc etc 1000 times) Find common ground with other anti-capitalists, because purity cults go nowhere. You will be "right" but stand alone and destroyed piecemeal by the imperialist capitalist forces.
