Would have worked perfectly in A Company Of Friends, which took companions of 8's from various media sources and added one that Big Finish then went and made a companion. Would be great to get more releases for 8 like that, just exploring companions from alternate media.
I'd love to see a completely random cameo in the TV series, like imagine the doctor and croton walking past each other in a hallway on some far off planet, giving each other a friendly nod, and just letting that speak for itself 😊
The Chosen Chimp 3.16K subscribers I have indeed heard of Kroton, even read about him on the official Doctor Who wikia, I have also read his comics that use to appear as motion comic animated videos on BeepTheMeep's youtube channel that is.... until.... it was sadly taken down by RU-vid itself due to stupid copyright claims. Kroton himself has since become one of the most iconic reoccurring Cybermen characters to appear more than once in the Doctor Who franchise, and he has since slowly gained popularity, as well as becoming a fan favorite among Doctor Who fans who are familiar with him.
Thank you so much for doing a big deep dive into Kroton! The character finally gets the recognition he deserves! Thank you! I enjoyed this video immensely and hearing your thoughts on this underrated cyberman with a soul.
@14:00 Throwback was reprinted in color in the US Marvel series. Throwback was in issues 2 & 3, Ship of Fools in issue 14. The first two issues' main story is Star Beast. I used to have the entire run plus the four Marvel Premiere issues, but I loaned them to a friend who up losing them.
I still recall one of the first Doctor Who comics I ever read was one of Kroton's stories, and it hit home so well as the Cybermen are my favorite of the monsters. I only just got a copy of the Glorious Dead and have not made the time to read it yet, and I think this is my sign to do so! Thank you Chimp as always!
@TheChosenChimp The strips were colorised when Marvel reprinted Doctor Who strips in USA back in circa 1985. MARVEL PREMIERE #57 was the 1st US Appearance of DOCTOR WHO in Marvel Comics.
Absolutely phenomenal video. I love your in depth looks at the expanded universe. So we’ll edited too. I love this character who I hadn’t heard of before. But I do think it’s best to keep him in the comics. I have a feeling a tv episode wouldn’t do him justice.
Iunno, that whipping a whole Sontaran army could make for some good Michal Bay type explosions... Imagine a whole genetically modified army getting spanked by a toaster man
13:21 I guess the artist had just finished watching Alien before drawing this panel, that's a very Space Jocky looking robot xD Also, proud to be a supporter of such fantastic content, excited for the dalek vids!
Great video. You explored something I’ve long been vaguely interested in and made it essential for me to obtain 😁 nice scenery-midlands? Anything DW comics-wise is always appreciated. Keep it up, good sir 👍
while I do like how his story ends I do wish we got more sad morality plays from kroton each one we see influencing his future self Because as it stands it still feels bit sudden.
Fantastic video I read Krotons first story with 8 via beep the meeps channel and I found him a great character, I am really looking forward to your dalek videos and I was wondering if u will look at them in the same way as the cybermen stories looking into the expanded media around them (especially for the daleks as they are vvveeerrryyyh interesting)
When will you do the Cyber Nomads? You might gain some more information on them from the new 8th doctor Audio Drama as it shows Voga & is during the cyberwars. Also my favourite Cybermen are the ones that appear in the story Earth shock at least the design.
@@badwolf66 Yeah I am guessing if he had done any of it he probably would have to reference the audio drama. I am going to listen to it soon I have it downloaded but I am watching other audio dramas before.
Hi there. Nomads are on my list. I have a Planet 14 expanded video next up, and then it's all systems go with Patreon requests, 60th Anniversary coverage, and Doctor Who and The Daleks video. Revenge of the Cybermen will be the next stop for my cluster of Cyberman vids, but you might not see it until late winter 2024. Hope you stick around for it, and thanks for all the kind comments.🙂🐵
omg the big ultimate cyberman comic collection is amazing... i assumed cybermen would be so much better than daleks in comic form coz conceptually there's so much to delve into... i loved it so much that I bought the dalek one too and the dalek one SUCKED.
