I'm so confused why everyone was bullying Luis in game 1 when Belzenlok is right there haha Also I think you meant to sacrifice Gary to Devouring Strossus, as Phantasmagorian has no sac effect? Belzenlok is one of my faves but sadly has no chance of competing outside of fringe tables and even there he's unlikely to have much of an impact. The luck you need to win t1 with other proactive lists is the same, or in some cases even less than what Belz needs to win t3, and it is impossible to win any earlier. Really hope he gets some new cards soon lol

Oh you are totally right, the big Mana value and stats of each creature actually got us confused during the last part of the video 😅 It appears we all suffer from more or less dyslexia xD Answering the other question: basically Leite knew for sure Circu would be on Naus so he pressured him early, and only later got worried on how Belzenlok actually worked so he changed targets by then.

@@SplitSecond Getting cards confused happens to the best of us, there's a LOT of them hahaha Thinking Dimir doing Dimir things is understandable 😂 Nice that they had a game to adjust though having learned the threshold It is also nice seeing a fringe table to shake things up every now and then, it's all EDH! 🙂

So, what did we learn today? 1. Keeping a single fetch against a black deck is a big "NO"; 2. Basic lands can save lives.

I'm a strong believer of the flash enablers that are available in black for Belzenlock. He could've won with an instant speed Iverter of Truth. And he would've had it in hand being that it's 2BB.

@@SplitSecond First of all I acknowledge that all the options available in mono black would've needed to be on board already. Sadly no instant speed flash enablers in black that I'm aware of. So I guess I was wrong with his exact boardstate. That being said emergence zone is the best out of the three for this example. (Winding canyon and vedalken orrery being the other two and I play all three in my build) Having zone in play it becomes simple. With his available mana he could've sacrificed the land and play inverter switching his fat grave and library before the draw step. Sorry to disappoint if you were thinking I had come up with a way to inverter with only what he had on board.

@@SplitSecond second game I believe multiple times he escaped kroxa and sent him to the yard unless I was not seeing something

@@lyndonshuster3811 Leite escaped Kroxa at 17:20 and then at 19:50. (successful that is) The other times it was either countered or came through Living Death or cast from hand, etc. :)

Despite the deck being on the "meme section" of the cEDH database, it is actually well put together, and cards like Uncle Istvan appear to be inside the deck in order to have more devotion to black once Gray Merchant triggers :) And it can also be used to eternally block incoming damage from Tymnas and Najeelas, etc :)

@@syntaxerror2409 That was a typo on our part, the sacrifice outlet is actually Devouring Strossus. But we messed it up in the scrypt and was narrated and edited accordingly 😅

The deck was not brewed by us. As mentioned in the video, Baal was using Avocad0's decklist present on the cEDH database by the time of recording :)

Well, almost all of these decklists are indeed in the cEDH-decklist-database. And considering they take specific strats and build it to the most optimal deck possible, without taking into account budget, and aiming to win the most effective possible way, then it should be considered cEDH.
